  • In this video I replace the deck belt and a spindle on this Cub cadet LTX1050 Riding mower with a 50" deck. I also re seal the valve covers that were leaking and do a service on the mower. It has a Kohler Courage 24 hp v twin engine in it.

I had this deck on my ZTR 50 2005 model and it was one of the best cutting decks I've owned.

Yeah they do cut nice. They lasted a long time too. The newer cubs got alot thinner decks.

@@smallenginerescue Exactly compared to my 2020 ZT1 42 stamp deck it is night / day.

When I hear quick I just want to say never happens, just keep looking tell you find all the damage 😢
Alinement and ruff bearing are most likely the blame, use the blue high dallor belts 😊😊😊

That is a strange belt routing on this cub cadet it would be nice to install a kevlar belt on this mower deck if it is the one that MTD says is The correct one

Yeah rotary sells Kevlar reinforced belts but they didn't have the right length belt that this needed.

@@smallenginerescue MTD made riding mowers that require the proper belt's which are hard to get in the kevlar belt style Great job MTD 😡😠🤬

I wish they made a good deck for these, mine eats kevlar belts like popccorn at 80.00 a pop im ready to pull the engine and destroy the rest.I put all new spindles, blades and idler pulleys on and nothing different.

Yeah it was not a good belt routing design. Sounds like something is out of alignment though if it's eating belts. The bushing on the tensioner pulley arm can wear and cause alignment issues.

@smallenginerescue I just read on a forum a guy moved the bolt for the tensioner, the forward hole is for 5/8 belt he moved it to the hole closer to the center spindle says that is for the 1/2 inch belt. I'm going to try it bought a cheap belt on line 20.00 better than tossing 80.00 out window.
