I will never understand that mentality. Well it's not worth $900... Meanwhile a new commercial machine starts at 5k and goes up from there. It isn't clapped out. Parker makes some of the best hydraulics in the world with the longest product cycles so parts availability spans decades so I know that is not some junk machine.

Oh Wow That Poor thing is in rough shape . Mine is a 1939 and is DC. and it runs real sweet. I love to hear it running.... I have the Books for mine too..(Somewhere).. I am near Merrill Wis should You want to part with it. Mike M.

I ran lots of these on a golf course. The hard part is getting the counter weights properly installed if you decide to rebuild them.

Very helpful. Mine's leaking around the float bowl. I was able to find individual parts for the float, needle, and gasket. Also thru in the primer parts to replace that while I am at it. In 10 years it could be twice the price to fix so I am taking care of it now. New OEM carbs are +700 bucks. Got all the parts for around 120. The wheeler has sentimental value to me as it was my fathers. After he passed I went to go for a ride and gas was leaking onto the engine. Looking forward to visiting his grave site on his old wheeler.

You definitely have the skills to do work on the mower deck while it's still attached to the tractor frame most people would remove it from the tractor to work on it

250watts rated gen. That's not a lot but more than enough to make some light. especially with LED-bulbs. If I'm not mistaken, this is a DC-gen ... not an AC-gen. Totally nof fitted for any AC-running motor. Originally this gen was used for a Teletypewriter TG-7-B

Spark plug shield never went missing in the corps. Those machines are wicked noisy. Resistor plugs and shielded spark plug wire was slow in coming. Not until the AM radio became popular.

Can't take a cut off wheel and a flap disk to those bolts? Instead leave them 3" to long?

That is a strange belt routing on this cub cadet it would be nice to install a kevlar belt on this mower deck if it is the one that MTD says is The correct one

i beat one for half a day on a 185 hydro . bradded it so bad i had to cut 1/2 inch off top , drill and tap , and use a bolt and washer down thru the top to hold it in . done several on 180/185 hydros . always dread this part the most .

That's not the drain plug you should use. on the passenger side at the same level as this plug you will see a 9/16 (i think) plug, it's metal and tougher than plastic and a lot easier to get to. Just saying, try it, its easier.

Other than cleaning carb the coil is the only other problem they ever had…….😊❤

The compression release on the 2017 17.5 Intek Briggs will cause some carnage if the pressure release lever gets trapped between the rod and the block. Reviews on the Brigg's Amazon account, 2 years ago said don't waste your time on a new cam from Briggs OEM. Aftermarket cams were worse. Breaking in 1 day. Doesn't say if they were using good oil, or not; but mine was salvageable. Just have to place your hand over the air intake to crank it. Not worth buying a new engine or camshaft over. The cam lobes look great. If a new one is going to break anyways, just keep the engine I got. It's still 17.5hp. I have a 23hp Kawasaki cousin to this one. Hopefully the rats was this one's only problem. Still have to adjust the valves on mine after 2 seasons.

My brother just gave me a yard machine. It's identical to yours in this video. Except mine has a 13 horsepower Tecumseh engine. I've done a lot of work on it. Steering, transaxel bearings, belts. New seat. Not done yet, still waiting on parts. Thanks for the info on the carb. I might have to work on that soon.

My snapper rear engine rider has the 13 h p Tecumseh engine just like that one with the same carburetor as the one that you are working on I would like to replace it with a bowl style of carburetor
