My favorite thing about a DA orbital polisher is that is really hard to burn thru the paint. Can't wait to see the Vette all finished and in the sunlight.

I haven't heard of Rupes, but this one I would say is an entry level professional.
Spta or makita ? Which is better for heavy duty and long lasting?
Haven't tried the Makita, but I know Makita makes good products. The reason we went with this one is because other people were using it and it had great reviews.
The Makita is a Forced Rotation DA with a dial that allows you to control the force so you have the power of a rotary with the safety of a DA. Its lightyears better plus the spta batteries have been known to fry.
