- Join Shawn & Danny as we return to Joyland Great Yarmouth to experience the parks awesome classic rides! This wonderful amusement park is located on the sea front and has remained a family business since it first opened in 1949.
Two of the parks main rides are celebrating 70 years in operation during 2019 and in this vlog we talk more about both The Tyrolean Tub Twist and The Super Snails. Along with sharing on ride footage from both of these fantastic attractions, we also share POV's from all of the other major rides at the park. This includes the Spook Express, Neptune's Kingdom and the Jet Cars!

Great childhood memories. Loved it here when i was a kid the snails and tub twist are great classic rides.
Mate, I go down there with my friends whenever we go out and we always go on the snails 😂😂
Also the thing I notice is the Hollywood cinema in the background RIP cinema will be loved 😔😔
I really appreciate that you do smaller parks also aimed at young children too even though as an adult you’d expect you would only want to go to the big parks with big coasters. As a parent of two young children your vlogs really help me decide on places we can visit as a family. We are away for a week in Hopton near Great Yarmouth in July so this has helped loads! So again, thank you!
Thank you, we like to cover a wide variety of theme parks and attractions!
Looking forward to Great Yarmouth pleasure beach on tpw tomorrow 🎢
The Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach vlog is coming Saturday!
Hi shawn, always love your vlogs with Danny, I was last at joy land way back in 83 family holiday in a caravan park on the seafront. I was 14 yrs old.
Thank you for watching!
Been going every year since I was little multiple times a year. Love the snails.
Looking forward to the Fantasy Island Vlog R.I.P the Beast ;(
Our full vlog will be online in the next few days!
Never been to this park. Looks pretty good!
Theo and Connor - Brawl Stars Great Yarmouth is a shithole chief don’t go
It's such a classic!
I’ve never heard of it
Great vlog again Shawn
Cheers Ben!
I first went there in 1980. Loved joyland. Nice to see it hasn't changed. Although I can remember the Noah's ark ride that got replaced by the spaceship. Happy memories.
You can't go to joyland without going on the snails, but personally spooky express is my favourite at the park
11:20 danny is playing with the steering wheel great to see him just like a kid
TPW drinking game: a shot of vodka every time Shawn says 'heritage'. ;)
ThelemicMagick I’m dead now 💀
i wouldn't recommend the game with "love it" :D
(not saying quite as much in this video though :P )
Love this, although you'll soon get a little tipsy!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide If there's ever going to be an award for 'Most Likeable UA-camr', my vote will go to you. :)
Theme Park Worldwide - “A little tipsy”?! I’ve fallen down the stairs backwards by now! 😂😂
My first visit to Joylnd was in 1993. The Snail and tub twist ride were my childhood, such classic rides
Loved this as I’ve been going since I was born!
Thanks for watching
If you enjoy heritage rides you will definitely love Knoebels, I worked there for 13 years and loved it. Depending when you are going to be there I might be able to be a "tour guide" of sorts.
I really can't wait to visit!
This park reminds me so much of my childhood holidays! Would love to return this summer as I love Great Yarmouth! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
It's a fantastic seaside resort
Theme park worldwide on UA-cam I love it when you say that your a great UA-camr
Thank you!
Knoebels is the first amusement park I recall as a child. So excited you are coming to visit as it is quite unique, and has the world's best wooden roller coaster, The Phoenix. Not just my opinion, but currently ranked #1.
If you are visiting the area I can definitely provide some guidance as Pennsylvania is very different than many of the other parts of the state we've seen you vlog from.
Thank you, I can't wait to visit!
I'm heading there this Saturday! Just found your videos and the little ones are obsessed lol :)
Have fun!
I first rode the Snails in 1976, love Great Yarmouth.x
lovely little park.
Looks Great love the classic rides!!!
They are good fun!
I wish some ride manufacturers would build a modern version of the Virginia Reel. A spinning Wild Mouse is sorta close, but no cigar.
Well done Shawn good video!! brings memories back. Good old SNAILS haha can't wait for the next vlog keep it up!!
Thanks for watching
I’ve been to joyland I think it is very good for the kids I go there every year when I go camping on holiday.
That's good to hear!
Well it's nice to hear good feedback for the place you live. I have to say if you had came a bit later would have been here for the moving fair that starts on Thursday 😊
I knew I saw you!!!! I thought I did, wish I said hi
Love the channel!!
Last year was actually the first time I’d been to joyland (or that I can remember!) I’m 35 and used to holiday just up the road from Great Yarmouth in hemsby when I was little
Took the kids last summer, it was raining when we went, loved it!
Have you heard about Camel Creek (formerly Crealy) in Cornwall? They have rethemed their existing coaster to ‘Clown Coaster’ and according to the rcdb and the park’s map, are installing a family suspended coaster! It looks to be a vekoma quite similar to flight of the pterosaur. rcdb.com/17212.htm They’ve also reopened their log flume.. John Browne seems to be putting the place in shape - exiting stuff! 😂great video 👍
I'll be visiting this summer!
Can you do a video were you tell us about your history of theme parks and Kanye when you worked at AT because I'd love to here about it
Thanks for your suggestion
You need to take Charlotte to light water valley they have animals till the end of April!!!
We should make a visit soon!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide I'll be there on the 27th so mabey see you x
I live in great yarmouth o first went on snails when I was 5
Does The Snail count as a coaster credit???
Sadly not
i have visited joyland and pleasure beach every year for 32 years

Weird to think someone 5 years old riding that original snail in the opening year will now be 75!

That's our next vlog coming this Saturday
Ah a TPWW classic :D
It really is and we love it
1996.. I was 3..
That Would Have Been Either 1996 Or 1997 When Shawn First Visited Joyland. So The Sun Finally Got His Hat On At 13:10. Make Sure You And Shawn Look After Yourselves. 😊

I’ve been about 50/60 times but my granddad had a house in Lowestoft we used to stay in for a week!! Not too bad but went loads as a kid
We enjoy the heritage of this small family park

We love the heritage of this park
Was on them snails and tubs when I was a kid , 52 now !
Love that this place hasn't changed since I was a kid. I remember the space ship though where spooky express is now.
That was called Space Base!
It's crazy isn't it! We love the heritage of this park
@@sidechainblane4153 yes it was and they played the doctor who theme in there really loud!
I was 7 years old the first time I rode the snails This was 1953 (coronation year) so the ride was nearly new. I must have been on other rides but it is the snails that linger in the memory. My own boys also visited the park in the late 70`s and have fond memories. They are 50 and 48 now. My grandson who is 3 will continue the tradition if I have anything to do with it.
@@tramdiver that's brilliant and what amazing memories to have
you should check out pettitts animal adventure park in norfolk, been totally renovated for 2019
I would love to visit in the near future
Theme Park Worldwide awesome, and if you do please tweet about it beforehand, would love to meet you!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide I second that. Pettits is excellent. First visited Joyland in the 1970s as a kid. Living in Norwich we are so close to Gt Yarmouth so over the years we have taken our own kids there. Good memories. Thanks for the Vlog Shawn
Tokens have increased to £1.50?!! 😳
They are now £1.50
@@ThemeParkWorldwide you found out before us locals 😂
Great to see that historic parks and especially the. Rides are being cared for and still can be enjoyed , we have lost too many classics in the past so the more that can be preserved the better 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We have indeed, the family really do take pride in this park
Danny always comes across like a nice bloke.
he does dont he ? top bloke
Love a traditional amusement park. Good to see Joyland nicely maintained and their rides in perfect working order.
I remember this park before the spook express and then returning really excited to see the new coaster
I went there when I was five I am now nine
Good video pal
No matter what age you are you always leave this park with a smile on your face. Great vlog, classic rides, bargain prices and what a Gem. Long may it continue. First went last year but it won't be the last. Thanks for sharing 👌😊

Thank you!
Hope to do this and the other parks in Great Yarmouth in 2021 as well as Alton Towers and my local parks Folly Farm and Oakwood. If I did a trip for the three parks there, how long would you recommend in each park and how many nights? I'm over 4 hours away so I want to stay.
I’d say two days to do them all in this area!
Never been but I would certainly like to go in the future. I admire their efforts to keep this heritage and keeping memories going
So do we!
I still love these rides now, especially the snails and spook express, and I’m almost fifteen 😂😂
Classics!
Another great vlog
Luckily it didn't rain or the park wouldn't have opened!
We were indeed very lucky
Shawn, I need to conquer my fear of rollercoasters think I gotta go with u 1day lol
If you ever see us at a park make sure you say hello
Ive been going to Joyland since 2014 and I love the Snails, Tub Twist, Spook Express, the Race Car ride and the sea dark ride

I was going to go in a few weeks i cant because of the coronaviras im soo anoyd
Great vlog Sean. Looks a great park!
Cheers Henry
Never change Joyland, first went in 1983 probably last about 1993 but its never changed (in a good way) used to be a space ship thing where that coaster was I think. Looked like a space shuttle.
I’m on holiday in September with my family for 2 weeks, and so looking forward to going, I haven’t been here since 2009, and we as a autism family love all this. Love watching your channel.
First comment 👌😜
kidding?
Thanks for watching Tom!
The Snails at Pleasure Beach is a completely different ride.. it's odd to say one is better than the other they're not really comparable. Pity you never got to experience the Spaceship.. do they still have the ET puppet? Joyland looks like it's changed so much since i was kid, i live fairly locally but never been to the park as an adult.. id feel a bit weird about it as it's a kiddie park.
Yay I was going to go there but my mum said it was rubbish
Do you agree
It's a great little park, we love it!
Oh this park always looks amazing, as usual you’ve inspired us to visit this part of the world and go to this establishment 3 parks. Cheers Shawn
Go for it Mark, you'll have a great time
Went on the snails when I was about four I am 53years old now and my daughter went on them when she was 2 she is nearly 30 now good times x
My first ever theme park
I would have gone this year but we probably won’t because of corona virus 😢
Nice to see you back at Great Yarmouth! Never seen the weather like this though! Nice video. 👍🏻
It wasn't great but it did get better!
Great vlog.
Neptunes Kingdom always used to have a tunnel of lights?
Im too old for that now. 😭
