1:54 that was definitely not me getting nerve damage from playing surviving mars for 16 hours every day for the duration of two weeks. I was taking some awful medication for "off brand gut cancer", don't ask, I don't know, playing surviving mars was all I managed to do in between destroying the toilet. Still love that game ❤
I played this demo a while back, but I'm not a huge fan of the mechanics - mostly because it requires too much physical effort to play. Unlike most idle games, this one requires active clicking too much and it becomes fairly painful. I love the idea, but it needs a pinch more automation. Not to mention that it blocks any people with pre-existing conditions from playing.
You might benefit from using an autoclicker! There are programs you can use that click a specified spot repeatedly at set intervals, so all you need to do is toggle it on or off. A lot of us with disabilities use this kinda thing with clicker games, but it would be cool to start seeing them built-in.
Thing I like with this is yeah it's a clicker, and there's crises, but those are almost entirely controllable - you only really get them after specific things, or if your population is wildly out of control up or down. Almost never a reason to panic or rush.
It is still weird to me that people think of cookie clicket more than the paperclip clicker game... Cookie clicker was the parady game of the paperclick clicker... The paperclip game had... you know, an actual good story..
Cookie Clicker wasn't first clicker game, but it was absolutely one of them. It was also the one with enough aesthetic flair and "stuff" to really launch the idle/incremental genre among the larger gaming public. It's just like how Vampire Survivors was far from the first horde survival "bullet heaven", but it was the one that broke through. (I still prefer Magic Survival on mobile, which came out over a year prior to VS.)
@@stephanieaensland6520 When I first saw someone play Vampire Survivors it reminded me of Crimsonland from the early 2000s but you fire a weapon manually in that, the other core elements are there though. But even that was based on Phobia II from 1998 (Just a twin stick arena survival shooter, no unlocks, perks or RPG elements). People just sort of didn't see it as a genre until Vampire Survivors (autofiring and bullet hell visuals were their main additions) and all the garbage clones started coming. It's like Doom wasn't the first FPS but defined the genre and suddenly came a bunch of garbage clones. I remember when FPS games were called "Doom Clones" for years. I'm trying to think of other examples of something failing to define a genre, years pass, game and clone explosion. Survival horror, you had alone in the dark then nothing until Resident Evil and then everyone was doing it. (again, mostly garbage)
I feel like the combat could be improved if you didn't get to choose when attacks happened. Then you wouldn't always have your combos saved up. Like if you could choose to attack mammoths etc, but barbarians would attack on their own... an offensive and defensive faction that you would have to balance between.
Considering just how flammable the village is in-game, I think you're right, the DO store soldiers in the granary, they're golems made of straw just like everything else.
I usually watch your classic game stuff which I don't have any interest in playing again. Just great nostalgia. Came across this and downloaded immediately. I'm really digging it. The later ascensions gets pretty intense. A really great brain exercise with multitasking. Hope they paid you.
I have boned myself so many times by lining up two quests with conflicts so I can double boost my military, but I fail to keep my risk low enough and end up with one or more social issues that take up my boosts and then I have to make a mad dash for more military or something to prep for the still-oncoming crises.
I once played Idle Dice enough that I had to go to the hospital and get a cortisone shot directly into my thumb bc I couldn't move it without it locking up and causing a lot of pain.. I wish I was joking...
when I hear clicker game I think "Definately Garbage" interesting to see one that is actually interesting guess I was mistaken with my judgement of the genre.
hey AA you ever going to play Dwarf Fortress? the steam version is pretty great and accessible. i know you would be good at it and be able to do some wacky stuff. keep up the amazing work man
Game devs giving out keys to streamers is pretty common, no? He mentioned he got the key for free, I don't know what else he's supposed to say if he's not getting paid to play with stipulations on how he needs to stream the content.

Chrons? Is it chrons? Cause i have that one too
Cookie clicker + civ... no, come on man, I still have some shred of my soul left somewhere
And here we are, watching a man press buttons for 2 hours..
I’ll take some soul if you have any to spare.
*Zoots this like slaanesh intended*
This is a very aesthetic game, it'd be cool to see a future playthrough when it updates more.
I like that you defeated Smog by shooting at it.
The depth of field concept here is really quite intuitive, very nice.
"That's what the granary is for, storing military combatants."
As soon as he said "Today we are checking out..." I knew this was gonna be a good one.

This is cute, the fact that a clicker game has events and negative events does a lot.
Such a unique art-style. So much so that I immediately remember watching someone else play this, I forget who but, it was indeed repetitive.

You mean Universal Paperclips?
That was made 4 years after cookie clicker...

Another Vod added to my sleep playlist 👍

cant believe Mike Rowe made a whole civilization

Maybe the Ascension Tier II is the tower of Babel being constructed?
Using the fortress walls will block the attack from taking the item in the attack timeline like gold and buildings.
Someone might have pointed this out in the vod, but I haven't gotten to it yet. You can hold down A or S to autoclick the button.

this is decent if it was just a mobile game

Defecate angrily? No, however....when I hear the terraria theme I have the immediate urge to pass my bowls.
I like when you upload. Very good
I don't know what a "clicker" game is, but I know I don't want it.
why do I have in my mind the image of this game but with the objective to build the tower of babel?
Stun-lock=win
This is the most iPad kid game I think I've ever seen lol whaaaaat is going on

This is an ad. He should be admitting that. Not pretending being given it for free isnt a hand out
