I’m from Utah and went to NYC 15 years ago for the first time. I’d always seen or heard the stereotypes about New Yorkers. Well, we were beyond pleased with how kind every single person was. They gave up subway seats for us. They asked if we needed help all the time. They knew we were tourists downtown Manhattan. But they always were beyond friendly when asked anything. They saw we looked clueless and gave us help. The cabs are pretty scary but someone told us, make sure you don’t walk too far out or front cuz they will just keep going. Hence the, “I’m walkin here!” It was one of the kindest cities we visited. We then went to LA a month later and boy oh boy was it COMPLETELY different. Thank gosh my bff knew Spanish or else we would’ve been lost down where we shouldn’t have been, off the Strip. But there were several awesome people we met that reminds me of Cug. NYC is pure class ❤
Vodka sauce is just classic Italian. It’s a basic marinara sauce spiced up with vodka and a few more spices with a splash of cream at the end to smooth it out. Simple and delicious.
Most Europeans seriously underestimate the yumminess of food in America. It's true that we have cheap, processed garbage but we also have an incredible variety of everything else. I've had amazing regional food in France and Japan but I would get bored if those were the only options on a day to day basis. Americans are spoiled with choice. You entirely missed the point. Other cultures look down on American culture as trash because America doesn’t have its own distinct culture. What you are referring to are things that belong to other cultures and nothing that’s uniquely ours. America has 300+ years of history when other countries have several thousand years of history. We have no identity at all and other countries do. I immigrated to the U.S. as a child and I know why other cultures look down on American culture as simply modern pop culture. Food in America is trash compared to where I came from. I was genuinely horrified what I came here as what we called food. As a British-Italian I just can't understand Cug's accent at all🤣🤣🤣 Love it! Just no idea what he's saying half the time! The Sandwiches look fantastic, even though I have no idea what half the ingredients are😅 What's "bijou"?
Your descendants probably won't call themselves Italian after like a dozen generations in England though. In the US they do, which is why the dialect is its own beast with almost no connection with Italian. Super funny ways of saying things like stracciatella and capocollo.
I'm Italian, I think he was trying to say "prosciutto", but for some reason they wrote bijou in the subtitles 😂. Other ingredients were burrata, stracciatella (he mispronounced it as stracchiatella), mortadella and capocollo, which becomes gabagool in the italian-american lingo.
@@Mat-lq6uzhe wasn’t TRYING to say prosciutto but was using the dialectical southern Italian/Sicilian pronunciation for prosciutto that predominates in the NY area as most Italian Americans there trace their ancestry to the south.
@@riccamacho6292 I also speak a southern dialect and I can assure you that's not how it is pronounced, let alone sicilian which is very different. But I know italian-american had his own local evolution, I did not meant it as an offense, I like italian-american culture. I said I THINK he was trying to say that, not that i was sure. I guess I was wrong and he just used new york italian pronunciation, I'm no expert in that. But that's not how anyone in Italy would say it, because italian-american speech had a different evolution from italian and regional dialects.

I love watching you guy not only because you reviews great food, but I want to see what the heck comes out of ollys mouth. 😂
The Ratatouille joke was funny AF and Cug going with it make it better 🤣🤣🤣
Every time this guy speaks I think of Ray Romano from Everybody Loves Raymond. But really, those sandwiches look absolutely delicious. Thanks for taking us along.
Some of my favorite little moments in Jolly videos are when Luke or Ducky or Joel are given a bite of what they're eating and going on and on about, I just love how they are kind of the audience surrogate in that they've been watching Josh and Ollie eat for the whole video and haven't tasted anything yet-when I see Luke get a bit of that sandwich and have his honest reaction to it, I feel like I'm there xD
Your videos remind me to appreciate what is around me. Not take things for granted.
If anyone lives in NJ/NY there's a corner store type place/grocery store in Newark next to a dollar store
I don't remember the name but there's usually an ambulance or cop car outside
Anyways, asian guy in the deli in the back makes the best most obscenely stuffed cold cut Sandwiches I've ever had in my life
Newark has Hobby’s Jewish deli
Since I watch with subtitles: Cug says "prosciutt" at 1:52 and 8:45, as in prosciutto. Contact me for more NY Italian translations!
When Ollie was asking that Ratatouille question, I kinda guessed where he was going with it, but was still kinda surprised he actually said it 😂😂😂
As a British-Italian I just can't understand Cug's accent at all🤣🤣🤣 Love it!
Gabagool is capicollo.
As someone currently in an accounting program, I can definitely understand Cug’s commentary on his experience. It’s definitely not a field you should be in if you don’t enjoy learning and occasionally being a little bored or miserable 😂
it's always a good day when jolly has the craziest collaborations keep it up man!
My favourite accountant joke: 'What do accountants use for birth control?' Answer: 'Their personalities'.
I was reminded of that joke when Cug said he quit his accountancy job after five days because it was boring.
Had a good laugh at that. 😅
Another great episode JOLLY! 😍
So glad to see another video from you guys! I have loved every single one of them from the very beginning!
I love that Josh and Ollie each have their own plates but just absolutely refuse not to share the same sandwich
Ollie x Cug riffing off each other isn't something I ever expected, but it is much appreciated LOL
Ollie, you just get more and more adorable with every video I watch. Thanks, guys!
This was hysterical. I have Italian family in Bay Ridge--felt like he was talking just like family--including the slang. LOL. Forget UK having such an amazing ethnic deli--we need those outside of NYC. Chain sub shops do not even compare.
Olly: "You can always go back to accounting."
Cug: "Yeah, I can always kill myself, too."
😂
Great collab, you guys make my day so much better. Thank you for the amazing content!!
Epic video! I am on my way back home but I just spent this past week in London. Absolutely amazing experience and London is so beautiful
It’s a jolly good day when a jolly vid is uploaded ❤
That Ratatouille joke was epic and I will never forget it. 😂 Had me rollinggggg… delivered like an assassin. Hilarious episode.. I feel like you need to bring Cug to the UK to collab ..for at least an episode about fish & chips.
Cug rules. Epic laughter during this. Thank yall from Texas.
This might be the funniest video you guys have done. You guys killed this wild and whacky interview. Mouth watering laughter the whole video.
Omg-😂 i just discovered that the majority of this episode was being played face down on my living room rug, unaware that it was still running after i thought i paused it. Upon coming back into the room i thought the voices were coming from some neighbors from outside, & then looked down & saw my phone facedown on the rug - WHAT A MAROON!
You are a shade of Burgundy?
It makes me giggle that you misspelled Moron.
Daaaaamn this whole episode is sweet&salty goodness! 🤣🤩 Cug’s black humor against Josh and Ollie’s brit ways is pure magic!
Cug sounds like Ray Romano lol. I love it!
I enjoy your show it's very insightful and delightful thank you for your honesty with regards to the meal selections you guys are doing wonderful 💯 it's nice to also see the comments
Katz or Sarges are the best Jewish Deli's in New York City. Try either the Pastrami or Corn Beef on Rye. And most people put mustard on it
These are a must the next time you come to New York City. Katz Deli has been around since 1903.
I really appreciate you guys making shorts from these cause they always draw me in to the full video and i end up having a lot of fun
Thank you for making me smile and laugh so much today. I needed that!
Personally, as a fairly frequent visitor to NYC, I find
New Yorkers to be very welcoming & helpful!
That Ratatouille joke is just what Cug needed. Lmao
7:25 Damn, for a guy from a place where the cops don't have guns, Ollie's certainly taking shots up in there! I could almost hear "This fuckin' guy" in Cug's head. 🤣
11:53 Eeeyyy, Ollie getting his flowers for the journalism! 👏👏
To be fair as a Midwesterner, I understand Josh and Ollie far better than I can understand Cug
I'm from the south but my best friend is from NY and another friend from NJ. Not a problem for me!
I always end up with a smile on my face while watching you guys 😊
I'd been enjoying your US series! Such a big country with a diverse cuisine.
1.53 That one should be used for everyone learning a new language. I think it gives people a lot of confidence to see someone who has english as first language to not completly understand everything due to the accent.
Would be great to get a part 2 with Cug in London or Seoul trying your typicall go do dishes to show around
My heart is breaking! American living in Ireland. I can’t find a proper deli here.
Oh my gosh, I love this series with this New Yorker and the Jolly guys
Love it when the camera guys get in on the action
12:43 PLEASE he’s actually the funniest guy ever LMAOO 😂
Thanks for introducing me to Impractical Jokers in the last video. Been binge watching it since then and it's safe to say I fell in love with it! I'm on Season 7 now!
