The amount of skin care products with lavender oil drives me crazy. I try to find none fragrance or a scent that I know won't have my allergen in it. Oddly, I've seen a lot of tattoo balms have it in but found a moisturiser for my tattoos.
Love my clear sunscreen since I'm pale as hell and have many moles and freckles. I have to monitor my face and any skin the sun hits, so try to cover up with sunscreen.

Being a beauty therapist in Australia. So important to apply sunscreen 20 mins before going out doors , and reapply every 2 hours or 1 hour after being in water . Small, amount of sun exposure is great to top up or vit D3, better to cover up. Slip, slop ,slap Slip on a shirt, slop on a 50+ sunscreen , slap on a hat 🐨🥰

I use both spray-on sunscreen and occasionally spray-on deodorant. Always holds my breath when applying in my very small bathroom, then I leave the room and close the door for several minutes to allow the product to settle out of the air. I also have a parrot, so keeping any residual product confined to just that one room is a very high priority.

@@harleyquinn5774 Honestly, you'll probably be just fine. I'm just extra cautious about it because my lungs are already compromised from a PE and because of my parrot.

The advice you give is very useful regarding sun screen. I think it is very important to protect the environment. In the future I will try and buy that product I will buy a sun block that has Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide as the creatures that live in the oceans needs to be protected also. In Nova Scotia, Canada where I live, there are so many public places, especially in the hospitals are scent free because so many people have allergies to these products.

Dr. Youn, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Nothing to do with this video, I wanted to ask something. I had tattoo removal of eyebrows with pico and the dr targeted a vein next to it. The temporal vein is bulging out specially when I smile. It feels strange too. As soon as he láser it, I had pulsations on my upper lip. What do you recommend , plastic surgeon or vascular surgeon?

my skin is acne prone and I had acne for 4 years but now my skin is clearer, my skin sometimes break out. should i use moisturizer?

It's always beneficial to use a moisturizer and sunscreen. Acne prone skin, I reckon Dr Youn would recommend a moisturizer with retinoid in it.

Also as far as spraying sunscreens they also aren't that effective. In order to get the SPF promised on the label you have to measure by WEIGHT. And you also can't ensure total coverage because they come out in a thin mist. In order for sunscreen to work effectively you need about 2mg/cm². So most people already aren't wearing enough to get the advertised protection anyway so spraying it on in a rhon mist that a lot of doesn't even touch the skin is NOT an optimal way to protect you or your children. You can either measure by weight to be super safe OR apply generously every 2-3 hours period.
It's your akin amd your family though. I'm just saying. 🤷🏾‍♀️

i agree with most of these points but there is actual little evidence outisde of greenwashing and marketing that chemical filters harm reefs, physical sunscreens can be heavy and uncomfortable to wear so potentially seeking out australian or asian chemical suncreens with more modern filters would be more beneficial. i also just disagree with you stance on clean beauty and the disregard you hold for actual cosmetic chemists whos whole job is taking into account those enviromental factors when formulating and determing safe products

I used to work in pharma. If people asked me if they should trust the industry, my answer would be: depends. If regulations are strong and regulatory bodies have the power to enforce those regulations as well as clear incentive to do so, then sure. But I think no industry can effectively self regulate. From where I'm looking at it, the intentions of the industry bench chemist are weighed less than the actions of the regulatory body

That's just not how science works. When you introduce something new into the system, especially something a lot different from the components in the system (unnatural into natural), of course it's going to have some type of effect. That's a core part of the world and all science.

Jokes on who? Do you think this is the Megan advice video😂 You seem triggered. If you don’t want to wear sunscreen then don’t but you don’t have to be an ass about it. Your justification for not using it isn’t good. Because I’ve got news for you, the more you avoid the sun, the greater the odds that minimal sun exposure can be damaging. I didn’t think I needed SPF either since I’m Black and religiously avoid the sun. But surprise, surprise, I developed melanoma on my left arm. From driving, with my windows up. The sun doesn’t care if you’re a hermit so you can save the passive aggressive, immature eye rolling for something deserving.
