    I’ve used your videos to build my setup. Tons of your ideas have came in very handy. I’m concerned about chain tension. Everything I’ve read says tight is good. Very counter intuitive as you know. I’m nervous it’s going to take out my counter shaft seal and be hard on other motor components. That and I have a very cool intake I built from a twin air wash cover.

    • @jethro450
      @jethro450  4 роки тому

      Mike Bates As your kit compresses, the chain loosens. So it’s good to have it tight when fully extended. Also, on the ARO and Riot kits, if your chain is too loose it’ll prematurely break the plastic chain slider on the front of the kit. I know of several guys who have broke their brand new chain slider within a few miles of the truck cause the chain was loose to begin with, then it got even more loose as it broke in. No bueno. And I disagree about the Airpro, that thing rocks as a secondary help for jumping or if you’re not a jumper, works great on stock forks.

    • @mikebates2763
      @mikebates2763 4 роки тому

      jethro450 i put race tech gold valves and springs for my weight in my forks. A little heavier than stock. I haven’t jumped at all but am road bound due to lack of snow but I was told that the air pro has been tested to 85 psi with no adverse results. I’ve only run it at 16 psi so far but road riding isn’t a good test obviously.

    • @lancesellers5888
      @lancesellers5888 4 роки тому

      I was concerned about the loose chain during compression of the TSS on my aro, so I built a chain tensioner using the original chain roller on a short arm mounted at the lower roller mounting point. This way the chain is under some tension but never super tight.

      My bike is fuel injected, is yours? The dealer suggested to me NOT to run an LED headlight off the battery as they said it could mess with the ECU. Thoughts?
      I didn't think an LED would draw enough wattage to affect the ECU if it's being fed directly from the battery, but I'm no electrician!

    • @jethro450
      @jethro450  4 роки тому

      Farfelu356 My pod filter parts are $50. No new air box. No cutting of the airbox or airboot. If you ride super deep powder, I don’t care what you’ve done to seal all the holes, powder gets in. This setup is bullet proof and cheap and safe! Let me explain the safe part. When you do get powder in your stock airbox, and you will, and you don’t get it all out.... guess where that melts and goes to? Straight to your carb. Right down the airboot. Then you have lots of water sitting on the carb throttle body waiting for you to crack the throttle. Not good. You can keep your stock setup. I’ll choose this one every time. It’s really not that hard to make and you’re not modifying anything stock (airboot, air box). It all goes back to stock for the summer for me.

    Any reason why you went with pod filter over an older setup video with just a frog skinned intake + prefilter in place of foam filter? Just ordered the components to do the later to a '17 yz450f I just picked up. Great videos, helped me figure out what I needed to setup my first timbersled!

    • @jethro450
      @jethro450  4 роки тому +1

      Richard Johnson Yes. No matter how good you are sealing every little crack, big powder days you’ll still get snow in there. And if you leave it, it melts in the garage. Then it drains down your air intake. Then you have water sitting on the carb body... ask me how I know?! There’s no one out there who wished the stock setup would work more than me! It just wasn’t bullet proof.

    Is this only a 120 track? How does it do in the deeper snow? Deciding on a kit soon.

      Mitchell Hubert it does just fine but if you ride deeper snow more often than not, get an ARO3

    Great video.
    Question on the x tune.
    How do you measure you have 400lbs of air?
    The gauge only goes to 300psi.
    I can't find another fox pump to go that hi.
    Are you still liking the tss over the fixed strut?
    Thanks

      mark reuss just guessing based on the distance between marks that it’s 400 when you pump it all the way around tell it hits the stop post.
      No jumping, no need for the tss. Jumping, I like it. Mine is pumped up so much that it pretty much doesn’t move until I started jumping or hitting g-out kinda stuff.

      @@jethro450 I'm not jumping that much. Hell not even enough on the east coast to ride yet.
      I had the tax from old kit so sent it out.
      Already installed it .
      A bit of a pia if I have to keep checking air pres.
      I'll try it .
      Thanks for the quick response.
      Great videos keep up the good work

      @@jethro450 with the valving I would have thought you would use suggested air.
      Its a pia keeping it up to 400psi . And I'm probably 250 with gear
