BOTTOM LINE: It's still an Aro - it's just a really good one! Aro's are amazing climbers and for the person who doesn't want to fight the front end from being off the ground so much. Some people like that, some don't. I love my Riot still and hopefully Timbersled will incorporate some of these changes in the '24 Riot lineup. See below for many good snowbike links

I got 45 hrs on a 22 riot pro pretty amazing. I’m not sold on belt drive. I’ve seen it fail miserably I’ll wait till they faze out to switch over

Is this recommended to do on a street bike? 1000cc ?
I’ve never ridden one but from all I’ve seen and heard, they’re too heavy to get into the places we really like to ride, which is the steep and thick. Kinda like riding a 600 lb sled with all the power you could ask for. The power doesn’t do you much if you can’t maneuver it around. I’d love to try one though!
Wonder how reliable that belt drive will be way back in the mountains. Carrying a spare belt is lighter than a spare chain I guess.
My guess is it’ll be just fine until you find a rock or log… then it won’t. I haven’t heard of many yeti’s or cmx’s or tki’s having any issues. I do think it’s the way to go, I just wish we could protect them better or maybe a different design altogether that tucks it out of the way better

@@jethro450 I've wacked a few rocks and stumps with my cmx on the belt cover and nothing but cosmetic damage but it tucks into the kit much cleaner than the timbersled set up
My friend and his dad that I ride a lot with have CMX kits and the newer one of the two exploded a bearing in the system I'm not sure if it's the tensioner or if the drives have bearing but it put him out of commission in a quite horrible spot. Still love how it spools up though
What do you think about a 2018 aro 120 vs something like a 2021 riot for climbing in powder? My riot climbs great. Will an aro climb as well? @jethro450
My aro 120 was very difficult and sensitive to setup. Once I got it, it climbed just fine but I always felt like it was borderline wanting to trench. The riot is better for sure. It felt great right out of the box. I rode it around in “climb mode” 90% of the time. That’s stiff rear, soft front shock. My riot3 pro is the bomb! Not as playful as a 120 setup, but traction galore. I love it
@@jethro450 What do you think of a timbersled st120 vs these newer kits like the aro 120. Is it worth getting these older kits?

So what does the Areo 3 do better? Makes sense to wait for the new riot with narrower rail.
It’s not confirmed the new riot will get narrow rails. The suspension arms may not allow it. But I hope I’m wrong! The main thing I liked about the aro3 gen2 was the narrow rails. They really let you fling it side to side with little effort. It just makes it feel more nimble. I like that
It’s more planted, better for climbing steep steep trees without trenching. Pretty sure you can lock out the riot tho the geometry isn’t the same. Riot is rowdier than Aro, Aro is more planted.
I heard they aren't able to narrow up the rails on the riot 3 because, the rear suspension arms aren't rigid enough.

Just revisited this video and, after watching it again it's getting me fired up to ride...this this is the exact set up I have for this season. 2020 Honda crf450r w/2023 Aro 3 pro...just need some nore snow now!

Thank's man, I'm loving this new set up...my season's been going good since we finally have some snow here in Colorado. The aro 3 definitely isn't as light on the ski as the riot but, still is so good...thinking of cutting the track down to 2.75 to get less lug from the track and, quicker rpm out of the track.
@@hornefoundations I rounded the edges in mine and didn’t really notice any difference but then again, Utah is having a once in a 10 year season and I haven’t been on anything hard pack yet. It’s been awesome! Glad you’re having fun too. I wouldn’t mind an aro sometimes, they are climbing beasts!

I think ‘18 Yz450f. I felt like it could’ve been tuned better for the exhaust it had. I’ll get more details, I’m also pretty sure the mapping was stock… stay tuned. Both yz’s I have (stock and modded) I feel like run better than that one

How do you like the timber sled pivot dolly? I see you rode with them attached.
It’s great for getting up the dirt road but needs bigger tires if you’re gonna do that very often. As for loading ins trailer, it’s good there too but again, needs bigger tires to get over the lip of most trailer doors
