Well in this video we talk about what each character in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate would have as its "Pokemon" Type! Another thing that makes Normal/Ground type work for Sonic: Ground is one of the only types effective against Steel. Sonic is always destroying robots. This typing works way better than I’d thought
Also ground is weak to water, and Sonic can't swim

@@ttgb2990 I mean he pretty much can fly using the boost. Just like in that cutscene before fighting Giganto in Sonic Frontiers, along with moves like Cyclone Kick and Sonic Boom. Heck, one of the main things about Sonic Forces was how you could literally fly through the levels using the Boost.
So about dark pit, in kid icarus uprising he can actually fly, but he's not using his wings, just his version of the power of flight, so mono dark still makes the most sense
He lost his ability to fly after Pandora came out of his wings and was revived. His ability to fly is given by Viridi in smash
Also there are plenty of flying-type Pokémon that fly without wings.
There are also many flying-type Pokémon that don't fly at all

Well, Dark Pit isn't really evil. He helps Pit and Palutena when Pit's wings burn off, and he doesn't do anything nefarious from what I remember. Plus, he can fly by himself. He absorbed Pandora, gaining him the powers to fly. He's still a Dark type, but not pure dark. So, Dark Flying.
Not all Dark types are evil.
He’s a dark reflection, but he is still borne of Pit’s nature.

I always thought Kirby would be dragon/fairy, because the dragon type is infinity, space-y energy. Kirby is a pink puffball that kills Lovecraft in nightmare gods as part of his daily routine. That seems pretty infinity energy to me.
I have two ideas that could change: Robin could be Electric/Psychic or Electric/Fairy. And every fighter’s finally smash is their signature move.
The reason most I know Pokemon are rock type is because there were once fossils Yoshi was never a fossil. He should be a dragon fairy.
Even pure dragon would make more sense.

So uh I just realized Zacian is literally Link (The BOTW Version)
They have quite a bit of blue in their design
They both wield enchanted swords that can be considered majestic
They both have Steel and Fairy aspects
They have been protecting their land for 100s of years
The only difference is that Zacian is the elder sister of Zamazenta
Zacian AND Zamazenta, the Hylian Shield is a little bit less legendary than the sword of Evil's bane but the shield is able to deflect any and all attacks that it managed to delfect one of Galeem's beam attacks without chipping or melting.

Tyrantrum and Tyrunt are fossils and the only Rock/Dragon types . Yoshi on the other hand (and all the Yoshi ‘s living) is/are not extinct so they can’t be resurrected from fossils. So go ahead and slap Yoshi with that Fairy/Dragon combo. Saying Yoshi is similar to tyrantrum just because they’re dinosaurs is like saying I, a white Czech man am related to Hitler a white German man.

I would love to see a follow up on this now that the fighter has been revealed. And would some of the alts be considered different types despite being the “same character”? Like, one of the Hero alts is half-angel, while another is half-dragon. Steve’s character slot also includes a zombie and an enderman. And Sora has those Drive Forms from KH2.
Joker is Ghost/Dark or Psychic/Dark (With the whole Phantom Thief/Metaverse/Cognition thing)
Sora would be Fairy Psychic type. Steve would be Normal Fighting type.
Kazuya would definitely be Dark/Fighting
Ganondorf could also be Dark/Fighting because the Gerudo are well known for their fighting prowess and being very good with weapons.

I personally think adding the psychic typing to both Plautena and Zelda. Zelda wields the tri force of wisdom so like duh. Palutena has knowledge of every fighter, and uses telepathy to communicate with Pit.

@Otacon464 but why is metagross psychic type? Mainly because it's a super computer with like 6k iq. And Robin is classified in the FE games as a Tactician,you know someone very smart. And I made a comment saying that the move set is interchangeable so being one of those types wouldn't work.
@Otacon464 Yes, Robin uses items for magic. However, in the prologue, there is this kinda weird part where Robin says he can see the stats of the enemies (which is meant to explain why you get that information playing the game). If you can not only tell exactly how many people are behind a wall, but also how well-trained they are, what their strong and weak points are, what weapons and other items they are using, how fast they can walk and what special skills they have, I'm pretty certain you're a psychic.
And for the DLC...
Joker: Psychic/Fighting (since his whole shtick is changing the hearts and minds of others, fighting his way through palaces)
Hero: Normal/Steel (Probably has Metronome)

Yes, I actually have thought of this before! As a Bowser main, I've tried to list all of his specials as Pokémon moves before. Here are my thoughts:
B- Flamethrower(maybe dragon rage since it's different than what Charizard has, and it would match the dragon type you decided on)
>B- Seismic Toss
^B- Rapid Spin
vB- Body Slam(the chance for paralysis could be the shield break)
I feel like Link would get a lot of good coverage. Flying type for wind boomerang and farores wind, dins fire and bombs for fire coverage and maybe some more stuff
Edit: siiiick Olimar is one of those gen 1 normal types that have insane elemental coverage for no reason

I personally think shulk should be psychic normal but depending on what move he uses the normal typing would change to whichever Monado art it matches. Ex: Flying would be jump (With the ability to let fly go down on first turn cuz why not), Speed would count for electric type moves that have to do with speed (This ability would let him go first as long as the move he uses is electric type), Sheild would be steel ( This ability would, you probably guessed it, increase the effects of moves that work like iron defense), buster would be fighting (This may seem random but I think this ability would make it so all moves are counted as special attacks for 3 or 4 turns), and now last but certainly not least is Smash. Smash is hard to do because I don't see a typing that would make its affects. Maybe another fighting type but the ability would have 25% chance of making it flinch idk.
A little side note, his ability to change typing would happen any time he is sent out, he will reset back into a normal typing once swaped for someone els. ALSO the buster abilty will work on other pokemon as long as the 3 moves weren't used up already.

And because of the timing of this video, Here are all of the types for all the DLC Fighters in my opinion:
Joker: Ghost/Dark
He's a thief that uses dark energy and since Personas are kind of like ghosts themselves. Also... Phantom Thives... It's literally in the name!
Hero: Steel/Fairy
Not only for the same reasons for all three versions of Link but they can turn themselves into metal using the Ka-klang spell. And Fairy because they're able to cast various spells of any type.
Banjo & Kazooie: Normal/Flying
Literally the same explanation as Duck Hunt. Kazooie gives Banjo the ability to fly.
Terry: Rock/Fighting
Pretty obvious because Terry uses the earth for some of his most powerful attacks like the Buster Wolf and Power Gyser.
Byleth: Steel
Nothing much to say here. He/She uses a chain-link sword as well as the Three Sacred Relics.
Min Min: Fighting/Dragon
She's a martial artist so Fighting is an obvious type for her. And Dragon? Well despite also having the Watt-ball and Ring Looper, her Snap Dragon arms are based off of the Chinese Dragon.
Steve/Alex: Normal
Just Normal. They can create anything.
Sephiroth: Dark/Steel
He's literally a "One-Winged Angel" and has access to many dark spells. His main weapon is a long-sword and he uses it often in battle which is why he would also be Steel type.
Pyra: Steel/Fire / Mythra: Steel/Psychic
Pyra is indeed a Blade that uses pyrokinesis so that's pretty simple to conclude. Mythra on the other hand is pretty complex on what type she would be, but I would go with Psychic for how she can deal multiple sword slashes in the blink of an eye with Proton Edge and the ability to forsee attacks with Forsight just like with Shulk's Vision.
Also Steel because... Blades. The name of their race speaks for itself.
Kazuya: Electric/Fighting (In Devil form: Electric/Dark)
Why would I go with Electric for Kazuya? Well some of the moves of the Mishima fighting style that involve conducting electricity into a powerful force that makes a punch hit harder. Also he was born a martial artist carrying the Mishima name so, Fighting type... which would be swapped out for Dark type when he goes into Devil form because he also was born with the Devil Gene with enhances Kazuya's Electric attacks with Eye Beams and Thunder Punches.
Sora: Flying/Fairy
He is very lightweight being about 105 pounds. He's very floaty and excels in airborne fighting. And the reason why I chose Fairy is because much like Hero and Sephiroth, Sora uses different types of magic and three of his most popular spells are Firaga, Thundaga & Blizzaga, (Fire, Lightning & Ice) so I could see Tri-attack as his signature move.
