  • What is Hoi An Famous for? Lanterns! And we were lucky enough to be in Hoi An, Vietnam for the full moon Lantern Festival. The Lantern Festival draws huge crowds to admire colourful lanterns hanging above the streets and to place lit candles into the Thu Bon River. Hoi An, a world heritage site, is a beautiful city and popular for good reason. They have pretty old buildings, a beautiful Old Quarter and a colourful lantern at every turn... and also tourists!
Unfortunately the Hoi An Lantern Festival was not what we had hoped for, check out our vlog to find out why.

What is the best festival that you have ever been to? Anything you would recommend?

The Lunar New Year festival which begins this Saturday and stretched for fifteen days with lion and dragon dances and fireworks and fire crackers. I think when you arrived at Hoi An, it is close to the Vietnamese equivalent of the Lunar New Year and therefore the insane crowd. Enjoy your journey through South East Asia. Stay safe against the virus.

Festivals are usually chaotic. But that's the real experience u are there for. We were there for kings festival in Amsterdam a few years ago and it was more chaotic than what you showed in this video. But we did have a ball!!

i appreciate the different perspective. We need more content that talks about the negatives because the rest are just advertisements. I want to know the good and bad then make a decision.

Depends when you go. You’re there at a very busy time. I’ve been there twice and it was not that bad. And like everywhere it depends on the day of the week and season etc

Hi Izzat! We are so sorry that we have not been posting recently. We have been putting all of our time into the vlogs and needed a break to take in the travel experience for ourselves. We are with family at the moment and are not sure what our plans will be next but we will let you know when we have made a decision. We hope you are well Izzat 🙌

    True love channel?
But hate somewhere that's touristy? Then anywhere that's busy you call mental and chaotic when it's just people doing what you are doing

Are you guys aware that those candles are basically just trash floating downstream until they end up either on some shore or in the ocean? How romantic and beautiful is that? Think about it next time you buy your bamboo toothbrush to save the planet.
