I really don’t think they need to make a JWE3 we already have so much in JWE2 and we could get more and more species and stuff over time in packs and in expansions

Megalodon is now the youngest animal in JWE2, living during the Miocene and Pliocene. Megalodon started swimming the oceans 23 million years ago and went extinct about 3.6 million years ago, long after the non avian dinosaurs went extinct.
Two the fishes in the game are both oldest and youngest

Technically the Indoraptor is the youngest. It went extinct 6 years ago

Megalodon pattern kinda reminds me of Jurassic Park Builder Megalodon patterns with the spots
Kelp really should have been there at launch and I just don't get why it took them so long to add this simple feature, but complaints aside I'm really happy they decided to add it in the first place.
Its not the most simple comming form a persone who has made a game its harder then you might think

@@PrimalKevYT Which you need to make animations for as it is most likely they aren't using physics to make each individual kelp leaf move + having to rig it.

Fan suggestions pack seeming awfully likely with both kelp and megalodon coming! I absolutely CANNOT wait for this DLC + update. Now me personally, I don’t buy many but wow frontier, it appears you’ve truly out-done yourself with this one.
I hope this isn’t the last DLC/update but if it is they are well and truly going out with a bang, Meg looks super cool and if everything else is up to standard with it AND KELP (if you couldn’t tell I’m very hyped for kelp) then this is going to be the best DLC+update no questions about it!

KELP!!!! And our Megalodon! I like the spots on it. But oh man, lagoons are going to look so much better with kelp. I'm curious to see the full Megalodon model..... I'm hoping they did something cool with it, but it's certainly hard to tell with what we have at the moment.
(Such weird timing for a teaser, though... Frontier is just catching all of us off guard, I guess.)
The spots could be a result of filling the genome with leopard shark DNA.
I found out today that kelp first appeared in the cenozoic era. That adds weight to the idea that the next pack is a cenozoic pack.
That may be true, but I doubt that it's inclusion is that deep (no pun intended). People have wanted Kelp Brushes since Day 1 with the intro video features a Mosasaurus swimming with KELP.
If anything, it makes it feel more like this is the last DLC, where they're adding all this community requested stuff at the end.

Whale sharks have quite a bit of patterning, so it’s not unheard of for big sharks to look neat. Yay for kelp!

Predatory sharks have less patterning in order to blend in with the open ocean.

as they added kelp... they could add for aquatic species the need to have this type of nature in the lagoon and not leave it there only as a decoration.
Given how short the dorsal fin is in comparison to the great white, and given how different the caudal fin is, I'm willing to bet this Megalodon won't just be a scaled up white.
The Meg is closer to a mako than a great white, and based on the model, I have to assume it is some other prehistoric shark. If it is a megalodon, then they did good at the "Jurassic world creatures aren't accurate" trope.
@@SkylerFarlowyes recently 26 scientists pretty much agreed on megalodon being slimmer and elongated similar to mako shark ...
@@GodwinM-cb4tw I know, but genetically it is closer to the mako, which would make sense for it to be closer to a mako looks wise. My point was the model in the teaser doesn't look like what megalodon probably looked like, based on what we know
If this is a Cenozoic pack it's incredibly fitting that kelp is added at the same time since kelp forests first spread during the Miocene. If it's megalodon, it would be the only animal in the game to have interacted with kelp forests irl potentially.
that little clip of megalodon has me very optimistic that it isn't going to be just an oversized great white shark, I like that the fin looks different and it looks like it has a different coloration and pattern. All in all I am pretty excited for it
i just hope we get more skin variants, like 93 Trike and 65 mya Rex
New Stan Winston model rex would be nuts
The Triceratops really needs more patterns, I hope they add an option to make the blue Trike from the original concept art.
Finally marine closure decoration no more empty enclosure we can add kelp

There are coral formations in the decorations, unless you men new versions. Personally I want larger options, because all of the pieces we have are way too small to cover the bottom of even a one-section lagoon without placing an assload of them.

i notice frontier leaves high demanded requests for the very end or near end of both jwe's support. it seems like the saying "the more you beg, the more late it comes" is frontier's policy, so in theory if we be quiet we would of gotten meglodon or any other popular requests more early. theres still popular requests not met, but it looks like frontier might put them in jwe3 for marketing hype.

Bro when the Teaser with the Meg mouth came out everyone said it was a Cenozoic Pack which is a good idea but I said it could be a Prehistoric Shark Pack, and seeing how Kelp is being added that may help with my unpopular Opinion. I hope they do this because I want to have Helicoprion in Jwe2

Helicoprion isn’t actually classified as a shark anymore, but pretty close. They could call it the cartilaginous pack or something. Throw in Hybodus and Stethacanthus, and it would be really cool.
I still feel like teratophoneus and peloroplites from fallen kingdom should be added as well as microceratus, segisaurus and smilodon

That version is already in the game. They just made it more upright and I believe shortened the tail- but it's the model from the movie
@@m.d.diablos4423 but the base T. Rex model in the game resembles a female. Female Rex’s are less bulky and have a more streamlined neck compared to males who have a thicker more pointed saggy neck.

So random that they dropped the teaser on a sunday lol , I'm glad they went with a pattern to make it stand out from a typical GW more a bit like ark's meg, the size looks pretty good too I'm hoping it's equal to the mosa in size & stats so we have a true rival & woo kelp I wonder if the Archelon will be able to graze on it or if it'll be decorative only
If the kelp did interact with the animals that would be dope. I very much doubt that will be the case, but it could be an explanation for why kelp hasn't been added yet.
Lets hope they make him not too small like the giga in the first game.
If they're going to keep it realistically-sized, they have three options based on estimates:
-16 meters (52 ft) long, which is slightly shorter than Mosasaurus but slightly longer than Shonisaurus
-17 meters (56 ft) long, which would make it the same size as Mosasaurus
-20.3 meters (67 ft) long (the maximum length), which would make it the largest aquatic animal in the game

They’re going really meg-heavy with the teasers. To me, having the megalodon as the forefront species of a Cenozoic pack is an odd choice. I have a feeling it might not be a Cenozoic pack like everyone is predicting. Not really sure what else it could be tho. Maybe a “large creatures” pack, or maybe even the “fan favorite” pack that’s getting tossed around. Who knows

The shark you showed at 2:44, that's actually a zebra shark. They're so named because young sharks have a brown coloration with pale stripes that ultimately morph into spots as the individual matures

The colors are likely based on whale sharks, since the theory is whale sharks used Batesian mimicry to ward off predators and just kept the pattern as there was no reason to change.

I feel like sometimes it takes them too damn long, but despite some gripes I still have with this game compared to the original. If there's one thing frontier showed me through the lifespan of both games is that they do indeed listen to what people are saying.
I'm sure it's probably not easy for them to just make the decisions they really want to make with feedback for these games considering everything has to be approved by universal first so kudos for this one. After the marine life pack I thought I was just never going to see the megalodon. I am ecstatic to get it

I really hope that there will be a new type of food for marine animals, notably live white sharks or giant ammonites for large marine predators! I would love to see Meg hunt and devour a white shark.
