The whole story on End 5 - Beginning 6 was enough to make a grown man break out into tears. This also happened to me onstream a few days ago. The whole cutscene with the child getting left behind because his parents faded away was way too much for me. It actually buried up scars to the surface i've thought to already been healed years ago. Now I've looking around for other reactions.
@@icarusmagnusyeah it’s an great musical detail cause it also tells you something was off cause that version didn’t play when you fought N immediately after you just got the regular moebius theme without the flute
It's satisfyingly cathartic while being simultaneously tragic. Wonderful writing. Amazing voice acting. The music, the camera work, the animations... all of it perfected.

Mio is one of the smartest characters in the game. M wanted to die but couldn't find a way out of her cursed body. So she interlinked with Mio her new self and exchanged information and bodies. In turn Mio posed as M so that way they could get "Mio" to die at her homecoming as N planned and she had to put on such a dangerous ruse or N would kill them all.
@@icarusmagnus Which led me to a thought, actually. N had a month with her. A full month, and he didn't notice anything amiss. The woman that he gave up everything to spend eternity with, and he didn't notice something was wrong with her behaviour. Now, granted, you could put that down to them exchanging memories, but... He'd spent probably Centuries with her by that point, right? He didn't notice anything wrong? That's not a criticism, by the way. It's a compliment. It's illustrating how flawed N's thinking is, the limitations and blinkered nature of his obsession, the root of his despair and how Z twisted his mind. In his despair, and his quest for self justification... he threw away the one thing he wanted more than anything else. He should have seen it. He should have noticed, but he didn't. @@Drekal684N has spent over a thousand years with her. They may also have not interacted much during that month. Speaking of, I wonder where they spend their time? Like, where do they live? Did Mio have to have sex with N during that time? I don't think the writers even know the answers to these questions lol.
I always assumed that it was kinda like, after M had shown Mio the memories so thats why they didnt play. But I suppose it could be a bug because my game also glitched a bit in Chapter 5 around the M fight too
I wouldn't be surprised, I had a glitch during Sena's flashback of befriending Mio where it failed to actually transition the scene, so I just saw nothing but the background where she had been standing before that for the whole thing.
@@icarusmagnus I still feel like moebius D could have had a more developped story, not only being an older soldier who got mad. Honestly without this amazing sequence this game would have a pretty bad story. I still think its much weaker than 1 and 2 with story but at least this brings it up a bit
To be honest in a way I kinda dislike Noah's "If you had really wanted to you'd have found a way" speech. Like yeah, N is a selfish nutjob, but also after literally just having seen all of N's backstory, how throughout so many lives he tried again and again to save Mio and failed every time and eventually caved in to joining Mobius tos ave her, I kinda feel like "You never really tried you're just a coward" is kind of unfair to N. He very obviously tried. And so have many, many Noah's before him. The idea that this Noah is the first one to "Really try" (just a few minutes after already having given up and watching Mio die too, mind you) seems kind of conceited of Noah. Like no man, you got lucky, you got handed the right friends and tools and allies at the right time. Of course standing strong in the face of adversity is important. But that's not always enough. Sometimes you just can't win. And then turning around and blaming the loser for losing an unwinnable game is just kind of unfair of Noah.
I can see how you'd come to that conclusion, but I think the game does address this to a degree throughout Chapter 7. Noah himself says stuff like "How could Z make someone choose the impossible". Noah sympathizes with N and even says he probably would have made the same decision as N had he not gotten so lucky. I think Noah refers to all of N's time spent as Moebius as his "cowardice". N could have turned around and changed but chose to continue walking his path as Moebius. Ultimately, thats just my opinion and I'm glad you took time to share yours :) I still, of course, feel horrible for N. He suffered so much and really needs a hug
i always understood that as him saying that evne AFTER M died, giving it another chance. For N loosing M was always "the end" even if he lived past it, it was just over for him. Noah lost mio as well, and he almost gave up as well. Noah saw, and experienced all that N saw and experienced before becoming moebius, and still yet decided to move foward if he could. one major difference is that N cared more for M then about the world at large. while N do to his difference experiences, cares obviously deeply for Mio, but he just as much carse about the world and everything in it And yes, Luck was a factor, Noah himself says as much "trace it to chance encounters"
The whole chapter 5/6 scene is among the greatest sequences in video game history
It still fucks me up man
Greatest both in term of the best and in term of the longest. That's like a solid hour of cutscene

The boy just having to watch his parents die is so heartbreaking. Because he's the only 1 who to gets to live a normal life for the most part .
Mio is an offseer but M was not, that's why the "Moebius M" battle theme has a flute instrumental, as you're fighting Mio while M is in your party.
Yup! I didnt think much of the flute in M's theme and what it could mean for context the first time around
