Just a heads up Flyann, the expansion pass at the end is exactly what they did for Xenoblade 2, so yes, that "New Story" at the end is in fact most likely referencing a "Torna-esque" expansion.

The combat looks better than I ever could have imagined. I'm so happy the "hero" characters can be added into the party at any time. All their designs are sooo good.
I can't believe how amazing this game looks. The combat, the Ouroboros system, the classes, the heroes, the frickin music dude, the re-dripping?!. Wow wow wow, I'm so happy right now.
They're 100% gonna add other Xenoblade characters as heroes through DLC at some point.

I just realised.. the red dressed villains look like older versions of the main cast.. plus the infinite symbol.. oh god this games a time loop and the old versions of themselves are interfering or testing them to change the timeline. The real enemy is themselves
crossed my mind also... and that they're like organisation XIII (kingdom hearts), and like the judges (final fantasy XII)... oh my!

@@hasargel Yes, exactly. In XBC3, the combination of anima and animus can be seen in the "ouroboros fusions" the characters can do. One male partner, One female partner, with one being the more prominent at any given time.
In Xenogears, The majority of the main characters (both male and female) are essentially "Chosen Ones", referred to as the Animus, and when they resonate with what's called an Anima Relic (basically 12 giant "save points/zohars" named after the Tribes of Israel) using a Gear as the medium, the gear becomes an "Omnigear". An example of this would be when Billy and his gear Renmazuo come into contact with an Anima Relic, and Renmazuo becomes 'El Renmazuo'. You can see what I mean in action on Flyann's own 'THE END OF XENOGEARS' video at 39.30
I think the concept of an Omnigear and this Ouroboros fusion is pretty similar, and even more on the nose since it's literally male and female halves.
If you look at the image name of one of the characters on the JP website, the name is Moebius (Möbius is the official spelling) which is also a giant Xenogears reference since that's the Japanese name of the ending song. The symbol on the sword of that character is also the möbius loop. That character is also a reference to another callback to Xenogears. It's a great time to be a Xenogears fan.

I have Xenoblade 1 for the 3DS, Xenoblade X for the Wii U and Xenoblade 2 for the Switch! Xenoblade 3 is going straight onto my Christmas list! I might get the expansion pass shortly after!

Do you think I should just watch a story summary of Xenoblade 2? I don't know how much of 2's story will be in 3 but I can't afford 2+Torna and am currently probably just barely gonna finish 1 before the new game comes out (I am about to get Riki and have been doing every side quest I can) but if 2's story doesn't change much of 3 I'd rather play it blind after I finish 3

I think it's enough to just finish XC1. 3 has references to both games, but they aren't necessary to understand this game, they only enhance the experience.
