For those not in the know, here's a breakdown of every past Xeno- references in the radio program while Na'el and Matthew talked in Alpha's memories (minor spoilers for Xenoblade X, Xenogears and Xenosaga):
Both the Earthlife Colonization Project (ECP) and Project Exodus are names taken straight from Xenoblade X, though the context around them in Xenoblade X (ensuring the survival of humanity in space after an intergalactic war destroyed Earth as collateral damage) is quite different from the one in Alpha's memory, further hinting that X takes place in a parallel/alternate universe to the events of numbered Xenoblades.
Spaceships classified as "Philadelphia-class motherships" appeared in Xenogears (in fact, in its very first cutscene).
Dimitri Yuriev (spelled Dmitri Yuriev in the original games) is a prominent figure from Xenosaga. Also, the logo on the radio itself is that of Vector Industries, a very important company in Xenosaga. Also, the "Saviorites" seem to be a direct stand-in for Xenosaga's "Salvators".
The madman actually did it. Takahashi's bringing it all together. I can't believe Perfect Works is alive and real in 2023.

This is the perfect ending. I haven’t enjoyed a videogame that much in years, my memories and feelings of this series will always be within me. I cannot express how grateful I am of having discover Xenoblade

Just now watching these, but thanks for an enjoyable playthrough and genuine reactions that weren't overblown :) I had a similar experience with the series, with the emotional response, postgame depression (especially after 2!) and in general changing my view on what a game as a medium can provide. Happy to see the trilogy ending with such a bang and looking forward to the next Xenojourney!

I'm happy for Takahashi, that he finally was able to finish his story on his own terms. And i'm exciting for the future of the series, when he finally can stop remaking Xenogears, and... you know - walk towards the future hand in hand :)

If you haven’t seen it, there’s a short scene with some important details that you can see by interacting with Lucky Seven in Riku’s lab once you see the cutscene with it and the Monado REX on the ascent to origin. That scene explains so much about Riku, go see it if you haven’t already

    • @icarusmagnus
      @icarusmagnus  Рік тому +4

Yep! I saw that shortly after finishing my main playthrough of it. I still wish it specifically went into why/how N got his version of Lucky 7, but I appreciate Riku shedding more light on Lucky 7 and where Noah's version came from

    • @eratheoracle

@@icarusmagnus As of update 1.2, N's Lucky Seven was replaced by The Sword of the End during the cutscene where it's stabbed into the ground of the amphitheatre while Z talks to N, something which it makes much more sense for N to have. It's implied in the final cutscene of FR that when Rex is talking about *them*, he means Pneuma and Logos, rather than Pyra and Mythra, with Pneuma being in Matthew's Gauntlets (and later Noah's Blade) and Logos being a part of N's Sword, so perhaps N's Sword of the End is in part created from Logos as well

i didn’t notice N’s eyes til Glimmer pointed it out but you can see some light return to them over the course of the final battle. Also, I felt like that place in Origin was actually Elysium, especially how it’s stripped away and becomes this metal tube

Nice reaction. XC2 is still my favorite. Sure it was corny at times but overall it was amazing. Same for the music. XC1/XC3 have some insane bangers but overall 2 was better imo. Also the battle system is maybe my favorite in any game. Torna hurt bad too lol.
But ya, XC3 is my 2nd fav and I loved it and this DLC. Can't wait for the next one.

btw when Rex said: ''if only those two were here'' he did not mean Pyra and Mythra but Malos and Pneuma to follow up on this, right after this line we see Pneuma's core crystal in Matthew's fist and a purple glow from N's sword which hints that they were here

(rewatching a few scenes again after finishing the video once)
    obv spoilers again
at 50:00 ish, "those two" rex mentions very likely does not refeer to pyra AND mythra, but to pyra/mythra AND Logos(aka pneuma core and logos core), its heavily implied, even if not outright confirmed, that whatever remained of the logos core is inside the Sword of the end of N(which actually kinda helps my old theory from back in XC2s release, that the way Pyra and mythra got seperate bodys was via Logos basicaly "erasing" its personality, so that the pneuma core woudl restore one of their personality matrixes as Pneuma core(mythra likely) and one as the Logos core(pyra likely) their blade bodys woudl still have the same colored core crystal, but in Orgin, which is made from memories, the memories of the core would potentaiyl take priority, and restoring it to its purple hue)

    • @icarusmagnus
      @icarusmagnus  Рік тому

Yeah, upon separate viewings I figured he was referring to Pneuma/Logos and not Pyra/Mythra. My XC2 fanboy wanted to see my girls again :'(
But yeah, I could see a couple different theories on Logos' core being back either by the Aegis girls splitting to fill the roles or that Pneuma's core could restore Logos' core

When M gave herself to Mio, the exchange came with M's memories. I like to think Nikol and Glimmer were granted the same extra gifts from their dads.

A nice thought but unlikely to be canon. M didn’t give Mio her ‘time’ but her body - a fundamentally different concept

(OBV spoilers for the video and thus the story)
Honestly, i still have my issues with FR
I wished we got a bit more "closure" with Alvis the person.
I kinda didnt like Mathews Character that much.
The recontextualisation of Ns city masacre was... questionable at best.(also its very possible that M didnt know about Alpha.. which i find highly amusing as that means booth sides of that dysfunctional marriage hide something vital for the existance of the world from the other)
But the moment we saw the world unsunderd(how i call it because i played FFXIV for way to long) and the orbital elevator in the city, my jaw dropped.
For all the shortcomings it had, the last leg of it made it all worthwile...
at least it was a FAR FAR better DLC then torna(which was 100% superflous and had horrible pacing as well)
on the topic of the ending, i am one of the people who do not think the worlds "remerged" at the end of the DLC(or if they did, it was a timejump to hundreds if not thousands of thousands of years into the future for the merge)
Narrativly speaking the worlds remerging instantly after origin reboots the worlds states to a time "before they knew of each other" just dosnt add up.
IT also dosnt explain why only noah vanishes at the end of 3(if anything everything should kinda mesh together like it did in aionios, jsut more peacfull with less Antimatter explosion if it did indeed mix and not just one person vanishing)
And it also kinda defeats the ending theme that, despite being seperate by litteral worlds do to this, this is the correct choice, and Noah and mios love for each other can transcend the boundarys, of worlds poised to destroy each other.
There is also a theme of XC3 and future redeemed(that at least i think exists) of not being blinded by the past, nor the present, but working towards a future, no matter the hardships.
Merging the worlds would LITTERALY be looking at the past(as Avatar Naels memory space was used to point out) the world unsunderd is no longer "our world" its a world long past, remerging would not bring it back, and we know how it ended. The Worlds "longing" for each other is litteraly an apocalypse event.
Neither is remaining in the Endless now a solution, its a bandaid born out of fear, a bandaid that destroys the worlds as it trys to prevent it.
The true solution is to walk towards an uncertain future, in worlds still divided, seperate again, walking different paths yet again, for they may in the future walk hand in hand again with their futures connected.

I'm gonna try to address each thing in order as best as I can:
      1. I do wish Alvis got a bit more too. I was very confused by the split of A from Alpha initially. I think I understand it more now, but I'm still left wondering if Alpha got destroyed, what happens to "Ontos" itself? Does A have the core or did Alpha? So I can agree there that a deeper explanation would be nice.
      2. I think M didn't know about Alpha at all. It appeared to me that M was actually brought back after the City Massacre and that N kept it to himself as "its mine [burden] alone to bear" as he tells Ghondor.
      3. I don't think they merged to a state "before they knew of each other". It would have been right after the supposed collision, unless that's not what you were getting at. Or maybe I'm forgetting a bit of dialogue but Origin was supposed to reboot the worlds to just before the collision. They would still know of each other.
      4. Noah doesn't vanish at the end of 3? He runs off to the sound of the flute if we take the scene literally.
      5. I think the worlds remerging does uphold the game's theme of using the past to rebuild the future. I think the remerged world would look more like Aionios than the unsundered world, as they are now two different points in time.
Ultimately, these are just opinions and I'm glad you shared yours! I wish Takahashi delved a little deeper into explanations lmao he does love to introduce really cool concepts/ideas and then leave it up to the player to decipher what he meant but there's usually multiple outcomes to reach and it lets the player pick the one they like the most

      point 4.
at the end of 3, when he runs off to the flute, after the birds cover the screen he is completly gone, as in, his model is no longer visibile. Now the position of the Camera makes it entirely possible that they just deleted to model just to make it easier to "hide"him in the crowd.
And tbf, this IS also XC3.. the same game where someone forgot to remove a mousecursor
      3. Thats a bit of my own "theory" tbf based on a few bits of dialogue(mostly from the Post game Nia Hero quest)
Origin lets the worlds collide and reconstruct, however if it was "just before the collision"in a litteral sense they would just collide again
(as they "yearn for each other" so in my head the logical explanation is to "wipe" the other worlds existance from everyones memory and restore the physical worlds to a point before they started to yearn, while keeping the actual physical state as it was now(as in any person, thing, and memory not related to the other world would remain as it was before the colission)this is, while not directly supported, somewhat hinted at(imo) by how noah starts and ends the game, he ends at the EXACT same moment, there is no gap/rewind for him/us the viewers. The only difference is that the other world is "gone" and he dosnt seem to remember it being there for even a moment(outside of a bit of confussion why he is looking up) this is however my own crackpot theory so thats that).
Now a bit of actual supporting evidence
Nia in her Ascension quest has one moment where she says "The stationary world wil move once again. When the worlds where divided they knew nothing of each others, in the end, theyll be strangers once again. Perfectly ignorant, as will we"
Now obv that may jsut refeer to everything that happend in aionios being wiped from memory, but i dont think thats the case given how she specifically worded it.

I know I'm coming in 2 months late to the party here - however there is a logical explanation to how the worlds end up at the end of XB3 / FR - originally the two worlds were split off from the main world... as antimatter and matter - the only thing keeping them apart at the time was the incarnations of Klaus as Zanza and the Architect respectively along with the conduit. As the two worlds were literal opposites, they would destroy each other if they merged. So the inhabitants of both worlds, after they found a way to communicate, created a system that ENCODED both worlds as 'words of light'. AKA the same medium, in the words of Nia. Now once Origin restarted the worlds, it would logically go back to the moment of destruction, without the kaboom part - with the same people in both worlds, etc as that was how origin was encoded. Proof of this is the end of XB3 when time moves again for young Noah with nothing changing from the first cutscene of XB3. Future redeemed expands on that, showing the worlds actually merged safely.
Why is this? Because both worlds encoded themselves as the same thing - words of light - so now they were one and the same. So both worlds were reborn with each other - and given, frankly the amount of landmass both had - there would be plenty of space for both the titan continents and the remains of bionis there.
