Native Locals, I would say they are your biggest threat. Them and realtors that keep trying to attract people here. Different kind of danger, but dangerous all the same. But the rich that cherry pick the best months, driving up housing costs, then leaving back to their Palm Springs home in the winter need to stop. L
i did this with my wife in a suv going down a mountain road in Montana near Idaho in march to a lake the snow pack became more and more so i started to back down i went to far to one side ,and we got stunk in deep snow we were stuck after hours of trying to get out using sticks to shovel snow we knew we needed help no cell service no anyone around? we first got stuck about 2 pm. we had water,and snacks,and gas to run the car for heat every hour, so we spent the nite there i remember the advice to stay with your car. the next morning we started to try and walk to the hwy we went about a half mile to find10 Snowmobiliers unloading off trailers for there last ride of the season we told them our problem they raced up the hill pulled there shovels and work like military men to help us i remember they had us out in about 5 mins hats of to those guys/ no more snow mountain drives with no cell service and not being ready for a bad out come. if there is snow there will be more bad deep snow you dont know is there:) i dont remember a time i was so helpless?and the thought was i knew this was a area they were relocating Grizzly bears.

Economy-wise north Idaho has a very poor, but highly educated and capable, population. But the difference in wilderness style quality of life is a blessing if you can afford to survive four months of deep snow.

I agree with others here. This was very well done. I have a question about VISITING Idaho... I'm planning to ride thru parts of Idaho on a bicycle this summer, mostly on rail trails. Is the wildlife a big concern on those trails? My biggest fear is grizzly bears. A distant second is mountain lions.
I live in Idaho and we haven't had problem with either, but as you get into remote areas it is quite possible. Also, remember ALL wildlife go out to eat around sunset so if you are out at that time, then you're on your own.
There's much more to the mold issue than what you mentioned in this video. This is a water damage issue. As someone who has dealt with water damage issues on a professional level, I generally recommend following the IICRC S500 and IICRC S520 Guidelines for water damage remediation of building materials. To do this properly building materials must be removed 12" to 24" past the water damage. The area should be cleaned an disinfected and then the building materials should be replaced with clean new building materials after the area is completely dry. Test kits are a waste of time and money. If you see water damage of building materials that has been there for longer than 48 hrs when clean water is involved and any time contaminated water is involved, there will be mold even when you can't see it, you fix the water intrusion and then start remediation. Each situation is different, so it's often best to consult a pro when there's extensive water damage. You may also have a situation where there is asbestos and/or lead paint in the building materials, so you don't want to unwittingly disturb these materials without proper controls. Before removing any building material, you must verify that there are no asbestos and lead hazards involved in the work. Again, I recommend checking with a reputable consultant to help you identify these hazards and develop an appropriate safe work plan to deal with them.
The water almost got me last summer. I had no idea that I was coming down with COVID. I went to a beach on lake Pend Oreille, walked out on a sandbar with friends. My wife had a float device and gave it to me before she went back to the sand. I grabbed the float, didn’t realize I had drifted off of the sandbar. I sunk much deeper that I thought, I also didn’t realize there is a small currant in the lake. Not knowing I was coming down with COVID, I didn’t have the energy to swim to shore about thirty yards. I have never had a problem swimming before. Having grown up on the beaches down south, I have always been a strong swimmer. I was in trouble and had a hard time getting help. It took three people (one at a time) to get me on the shore. I coughed for a solid fifteen minutes before I could stop. The next day I came down with COVID. Taught me a lesson. Expect a current in the lake….

It boils down to what we could live with. We've been researching the area for the past 8 years or so and are aware of all of the issues you've presented. You mentioned the bottom of the lake being contaminated with heavy metals and that unless you eat the fish there wouldn't be a problem. Do you know if the same applies to the Spokane River? I'm amazed that there's almost no information out there. I saw one article that mentions a concern all the way down to the Columbia River, but hard to know if it's fear mongering or based on facts.
Like most western states we get some big wildlife on the roads at night especially winter time. Wildfires have been very common these days and hazardous air conditions has been known to last for weeks.

I'm dissabled and need to be seen from time to time.

You can remediate black mold after cleaning, then encapsulate with killz 2 paint.
