It just occurred to me that you could fence off your driveway temporarily and let your sheep graze it. that is less mowing and more growing. All of the fencing is mostly done, only the ends would need to be fenced for a day or two a month.
Your property is magnificent. You must have been elated to find it. Never knew grasshoppers were in north central Idaho. I once watched a chicken chase a grasshopper. The chicken finally won but it was a meal earned the hard way. 👍👍👍
You guys are doing an awesome job, it’s really starting to look beautiful ✌🏼💚
Your whole Homestead is looking as Great as LIZ
It is so good to hear from you both, I really enjoy your videos and seeing your progress
lovely to find you just watched your home rescue on tv how long ago did they do that , just to help with time frame but lovely to see that you guys are doing great , things growing , and that reyaining wall , so will now go back and watch your story from the start thanks , good luck with all of it
You are wonderful, very hardworking and live in a wonderful place. Very nice dogs and pets.
You guys have done such a miracle job controlling the elimination of troublesome areas on the property so spot on in all areas Best of luck for future projects
The garden looks really nice, good job!
Mike and Liz, you two really come a long way in three years and you did get some from the Ranies however you two have put the sweat equity into this place from day one. Love both channels and I am really glad that your life is so much better now and a whole lot less stressful.
Looking great! Honestly, I'd probably repurpose the 20ft container for something else and make a new woodshed out of 2x4s and steel roof sheets. I would also come up with a system for bringing wood indoors that lets you be as lazy as possible. I know you've got the barndominium upstairs so that's a unique set of challenges. I look forward to seeing what projects you guys come up with next. :)
Well I subscribed 7 days ago and Today I find out you have been rolling for 3 Years. So I went back and had a look and the first video I watched I found out what happened to you, a prick of a thing to happen to you, hard lesson to learn, but I sure you will never be caught out again. I have been well entertained for the last week, you both look happy and it seems that what happened has not broken your spirit. thanks I am enjoying your show.
You guys are doing such a awesome job building up your homestead!!! I’ve been watching since almost the beginning!!!
Awesome progress From God's country!👍🎯🇺🇸
It was so nice to see your wife you guys are a great couple keep up the good work
hv u tryied prospecting.. ur in a good area...well done..
First time watching your channel & we have subscribed. Your place looks great & your hard work is paying off. This is the first time we have heard of Homestead Rescue, what a great service!
Keep'em coming!
Good Day Liz and Mike! Did you do a video of the lower pasture with the ram and goat? I was curious to see that terrain and how you got around the water. Your free range chicken pen is a great place to build a simple on the ground compost pile of bedding from the goats, sheep & chickens. Any left over or buggy veggies are a big bonus. You pile it up and the chickens will have a blast scratching through it. It will get mixed as often as you pile it up. And when it's ready to go in the garden, there won't be any grain left 😊
This represents a great deal of hard work and sweat. If you ever do have down days, think of all the people throughout the country that dream of living off grid like you guys are doing. Continue showing everyone that it can be done.
Best wood storage is an open sided shed. We made ours big enough to hold 10 cord. Made the floor out of pallets and walls were 1x6 boards gapped 4” apart. Slopped metal roof. Wood dried in one summer and we could rotate the wood as we brought in green. 😊
Hats off to you you did a good job when the Homestead rescues left You guys did a hell of a job enjoy your video love it have a good day and stay safe
What a relief seeing that retaining wall done! Thanks for the updated tour!!!
Your property looks great. So glad Marty retaining wall is working. The Raneys sure are awesome people. The garden looks fantastic.
Yes, very good development during these last years, and most all is developing and growing in the practice of all the needed work, and wow it all looking to well developed 😊
You have done a lot of work and you have so much going for you. Proud of you both.
Love it keep it up as always 💘
You guy's have done so many wonderful projects around your place! It's beautiful up there!
Shipping containers whole moisture because they're not well ventilated dry ventilation shoot on top of it you might have a different experience and then cut some holes in the bottom of it so you create a draft.
This place looks great! And your keeping up doing a great job!! Love all the projects that got done.
Looking very cool very much enjoy watching your up north in western Canada
everything you have done looks great and works for you and every that watch is having with pepper plant this year
You can put the mint anywhere. We are zone 4, and the mint is unstoppable. We actually mow a bunch of it off every year to try to control it.
Found your channel recently, loved the progress! Proud for you two, best of luck in the future!
So happy for you Liz
Hey Liz and Mike, enjoyed your homestead tour. As always you guys are doing nice work. Keep up the good job 👍
Suggestion , used motor oil to protect exposed wood works great and its already paid for plus bugs don't like it
Keep killing it my brother!
Your place is coming along very nicely!! Good job to the both of you for the continued drive and forward motion! It's such hard work building a homestead from scratch. God Bless
Great homestead
put some bright lights in the chicken house on a timer and they will give more eggs in the winter as they think it is summer. Proper fans in that shipping container and you could turn it into a drying kailan for your lumber
Well done and looking good.
Thanks!
Looking great!
Good progress
It looking good ❤❤
Great update!
Excellent video. I have 50 acres in SE Oklahoma without a flat spot on it. You guys give me some ideas.
Your place looks great you guys worked hard and u have committed to do what you do keep the videos going ❤
Looking good. Be nice if you grass seeded the lower deck, would look smart. Also be a good idea to seed the slopes that’s mud slid previous, will hold it together more for future heavy water falls.
Great job! If You have more Top Soil to use. Spread on your banks; seed with good sturdy grass or ground cover plants shrubs or Whatever! Cover with Straw and water or rain when you can! I am Not Professional; So Just Suggestion❤
Damn good job 👍
moisture control in shipping containers is better if you use calcium collide. You need two buckets the bottom bucket needs a 1/4 pipe to be at the side base then seal the pipe so it will not leak. the upper bucket will have whole drilled into the 4 inch center of the bucket. in the center you place a wire mesh just wider than the wholes about 4 inches. The fill the outer side of the wire small mesh with calcium collide to the top of the bucket. this will collect the moisture into the center. then into the bottom bucket and then out the tube. The tube is place to come out the bottom corner of the fixed door. then it will drain into the pit next to the container. it comes out as salt brine so be careful. This will work best with cut split wood from last year. Green wood would need more bucket systems. I've use this in 20 foot to keep moisture out of the air with great success. no power needed. Good luck
Have u thought about putting a French drain behind ur house, love ur channel. ❤❤
Good vids. Looking to come that way to do similar. Invaluable info and motivation.
Thanks for the tour. How about a couple of vents and an attic fan in the woodshed?
I watch a 6 member family it's called ( good simple living ) they live in bonners ferry its in north idaho. A must watch.
Suggest you get the mint contained quickly as it will take over the whole greenhouse.
Hey Mike, if you just cut some louvers in the top of your shipping container, the atmosphere inside will regulate to the outside, just saying
Good luck guys be careful and safe I will be watching 🎉🎉🎉
You guys are doing well but you need to weed eater around the fence lines , chicken coop and saw mill area just a suggestion
Enjoyed.........😅💜🪻
Almost time to take the boat out for some relaxing time. Enjoy the journey - have fun! Thanks for sharing
Cut in air vent
Looks like the weather would be ur most problem.
If ben the Rainies, I wouldn't be watching your videos but your video or great
I've been enjoying your videos since the early days. I'm probably the only one confused by this...but will you keep having two channels? Which one is the primary channels to watch?
I hear chickens eat grasshoppers 😊
🇺🇸👍
What about electricity and water do you use solar panels ? What about ground water facility?
hello
Did you guys participate on the homestead rescue??
Hello how are you and nice video and I am living from Pakistan and are you from?
Just a thought, you don’t seem to grow potatoes or is there not enough space. Or perhaps you don’t eat them? You could feed left overs to the sheep & goats, but only cooked as raw ones contains toxins that are harmful to your livestock, as are the leaves & stems; to humans as well. Rob from Cardiff, UK
i know you guys and gals dont like people from shithole CA. i dont blame you. but im old school. ( god, guns, and zero gov.) and i love your lifestyle. keep up the good work.
🇳🇴👍
No I would build an actual wood shed for the firewood w proper ventilation. Then the shipping container could be used for storage.
Are there any gay people there?
My question, is what about the mountain lions/bears etc? Are you ever afraid to go for hikes/walks?
Thanks!
Thank you!
Do the laying hens have a pasture they can roam or do they stay in the coop? I dould not tell from the video. Everything you have accomplished is amazing and it looks great. Judging from the size of that veggie garden there might be a lot of chicken food 😉
Goat bear snacks...
Looks great y'all...New subscriber and looking forward to more videos.👍😃
You need to pick the scapes off the garlic so that they will put on a bulb underground by July.
Awesome.. great greenhouse looks great
Looking good you two!
Well done good job
This is awesome stuff!! Hard work but I can only imagine how rewarding it is. Proud of you guys, thanks for the tour! ❤
