@K I'm sorry for what you have been through, but trauma is not a competition. Everyone processes stressful situations differently, lacking empathy toward others is what made those physicians treat you they way they did. I hope you go to live a better life
@K Well to be fair, you clearly didn't die, and in the case of Death vs Grief, yeah no doctor is gonna give an F about Grief in that comparison. Priorities. Sorry about the colostomy.
How about the nurses thinking a patient is manic bc he said he’s going to leave with his daughter in Atlanta and it was true!…the resident repeats this non-sense in the consult in the killing part.
"any doctor in the hospital can do capacity" 💀 I say this every time. Usually under my breath, unless there's a med student. Then it's a ✨️teaching point✨️
i love how the patient's complaints are 100% valid as almost anyone whos been in a hospital has experienced these things yet hes deemed delusional for calling them out
When I hear "general capacity to make medical decisions", I ask, "What do you want them to do that they don't want to do?" Sometimes then I get the actual question, and sometimes it seems like they say "Well nothing yet..." and then I say, "Call us when that happens." When they insist that I come see the patient I provide some education as to why it does not make sense to assess capacity in a patient who is agreeing to follow through with a well thought out plan.
To be fair, often it’s an older patient with a history of dementia whose family has legal authority over them and is making a decision on their behalf and who insist the patient doesn’t have capacity while the patient is currently equivocally demonstrating reasonable understanding and is expressing a contrary choice.
I'm an expatient and I would LOVE to see the movie, over and over without the diagnosis of 'repetittive thinking" It's been 18 times in hyosp8ital for myself and THEN the doctor tells me: No we cannot cure you, we will control you" WHAT? @@asomeprod6163
As someone who just started doing consults a few months ago; my god, like half the consults are for "capacity", just as vague. And case management is always pressing to have guardianship forms filled out immediately!
lmao i'm in psych at a nursing home and everyone will send me patients like this 😂😂😂 and then be like wowww you're so good with them :0!! when all i do is be like that sounds frustrating. no you're right they shouldn't just run out of the room like that. and then get them some water or something and continue listening to them. and then we try to work out what we can do as a team with them, me, and other staff.
Anyone else wanna punt the doc asking for a consult? Like I have a hard time standing up for myself when it comes to medical decisions and I'll be honest, my doctors aren't the best as explaining any kind of "plan" if there is one, but when a patient is saying that no one listens to them on their medical team, you better sit your unhappy ass down and genuinely listen to the patient because THEY are the ones experiencing all these symptoms and issues. Just because you have a piece of paper that says you can medically treat them doesn't mean you can ignore their voice or attempt to silence it. #endranthere
Eh... they don't really talk, they monitor per their own definition "abnormal behavior", fabricate the most heavy diagnose and drug patients up until they are zombies and incapable to disagree with bullcrap "medical treatments". So, the other medical professionals can do some expensive treatments, the patient actually doesn't need, worsen everything and require additional treatments to generate more profits. This is what the medical system has become. 😂
There is a certain amount of truth to that, but my psychiatrist only wants to know all about ,my bowels and his eyes showed he enjoyed his repetitive question. What shall I say to him? He put me on chlozapine that causes constipation, and he asks who my bowels are, every interview, time and again. Any ideas people? I want to know: why is he enjoying his questions oiver and over, interview after interview?
Mad respect to my psych comrades. I'd do a thousand butt abscess before I talk to people with personality disorders and suicidality for a living. Too boring and I have enough problems in my own head.
It definitely takes a special kind of person to have the patience and empathy to deal with psych patients. I absolutely do not and I’m just ancillary staff. 😅😅😅
😂😂😂 I have found out the patient didn’t wanna go to subacute rehab bc they had a old rehab bill in the thousands that they were still paying…I guess no one from primary had the time to ask! 🤦🏽♀️ yeah you’re right they needed someone to talk to. Lol
literally lmaooooo 😭 i'm like i think this patient has trauma and also has valid complaints about how they're treated and they'll be like what's that got to do with their obvious schizophrenia 😭
How dare he interrupt a man who's sitting behind a desk calling his patients to make sure hes sending their meds to the right pharmacy..whats all this "touchy feely emo shit ur bringing in here?"
Hi psych? We got a patient over here hysterically crying, just got diagnosed with cancer. Idk, too many emotions and shit. Can you come see them?
I'm gonna need a consult on that grief
Provisional diagnosis: acute depression. They’ve been started on an SSRI 😬
@LCN Good luck having an orgasm ever again on top of that acute depression...

Lol the patient complaints being deemed as psychosis is spot on
😂😂
shit really? I was hoping this wouldn't actually happen in real life 😅😅

this guy is tough, he has thoughts and feelings! definitely psychosis.

"Oh just something small, you know, a total colectomy"
This is exactly what every psych consult in the hospital is like for us. The number of “patient is too talkative” consults I got 😑
"For the love of God, I just asked a yes or no question, why are you telling me a random story from 15 years ago?????"
Wow…just found out another perk of being an introvert I guess 😂😭

Capacity to make medical decisions
🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣 You need to do a collaboration with Dr. Glaucomflecken.
YES!!!!
How about make a whole new medical drama television show with Dr. Glaucomfecken, steveio and itspreso!
@@asomeprod6163 not Steveio he’s a self righteous classist who thinks everyone without a medical degree is an idiot.

Spot on.
Lmfao lowkey why I wanna go into psych. Nobody actually talks to patients 😂

There's a reason for that.
that's why i went in, join us lol the patients are really cool usually

Yes because butt abscess is so much fun😂
@idarmistorres3156 I mean...using a knife to poke at something and give someone instant relief sounds great.
