That was me for a bit, then I just straight up asked “Anything else I can do before I leave” immediately they go “oh yeah you can go, thanks for all of your help!”
"Sorry I've got teaching" was such a frequently used getaway card that when I legitimately had to leave for teaching the registrars (residents) would be like "eyyyy yeah sure you do"
the last sentence from the resident should have been sth like "oh you are still here? just go home" after them giving you random assignments for the past 5 hours hahaha love you Preston
Sorry we are about to go full neuro: A-beta and C nerve fibers (small fibers) carry noiciceptors and temp sensors that often lose sensation first in diabetic peripheral neuropathy vs a delta fibers (large fibers) that carry proprioception and vibration. It has more to do with the fibers rather than the spinal tracts described by the resident. Most diabetic foot exams focus on large fibers (proprioception and vibration) so it can be thought that they represent the first signs of diabetic peripheral neuropathy. However the burning sensation (positive signs) that patients feel initially represents damage to the C fibers of the spinothalamic tracts before vibratory sensation goes 1. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2771953/#:~:text=Large%20fiber%20neuropathy%20manifests%20with,pain%2C%20temperature%20and%20autonomic%20functions. 2. diabetesjournals.org/diabetes/article/69/3/436/39784/Understanding-Diabetic-Neuropathy-From-Subclinical#

My attending won't just let me leave, I even have to ask her before I go for lunch 😅, most funny part is, I literally have no fucking work to do there, my resident pgs all say please go and enjoy 😂 but attending just won't let me go
Im allergic to Aquaphor! (The Amerchol in it anyways) Didn't realize this until my daughter had severe eczema and I was smothering it on her every single day.
it's easy when you're young to think that you'll just endure it and give it your all into your career but as you get older that family med residency starts lookin reallll nice
I did not understand a thing and I don’t know what this is but give me a man with a moustache and round glasses and I’m sitting through the whole damn thing
Assert dominance. Sit uncomfortably close until they send you home for real or stare them down as you immediately leave. More seriously, the magic, "is there anything I can do to help with my patients" should do the trick. Either you'll have dodged a bullet because turns out they actually wanted you to do something or they'll explicitly say there's nothing for you to do.
I had the same line given to me and I went home in a heartbeat. Pretty much didn't show up for the rest of the rotation - one of the residents there switched rotations to a future rotation I was on and would not stop giving me crap for skipping my first rotation hahaha! Still don't regret leaving and would do it again
PSA: Asking to see anyone's Anki deck is a highly personal and invasive question.
its not like you wrote it anyway bro(sencephelon)
European here; what's an Anki deck?
@@bettievw I'm european too. You're missing out man.

It’s honestly so heartwarming to see you playing the resident…. As a resident. You’re killing it buddy ❤
I always love a proper POV, even when I don't understand anything lol

Not me saying “dorsal column” and Presto making me second guess my existence 🤣
What is the correct answer lol
Is it not dorsal column?

There’s always another resident or attending testing your stamina with the same statement of “go home it’s nice outside “
