В России россыпь золотых голосов и талантов! А сколько их еще не выявленных прячутся по стране...
There is an ugly movement in universities to attack classic music because it was written by "dead white men", but some of it is so transcendent that it moves people who know nothing about it. There is a great video of symphonies around the world playing Beethoven's 9th; each sounds different, each is beautiful.
When you enter heaven you hear YES playing AWAKEN❗🔈🔉🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊😎
That’s what I want to hear Jeff. No question.

Hey..! Ilove e this great Russie s voices ..! Powerful...!mysteries..! 🔥🌹
Gorgeous .
Lifts the spirit to the sublime ...like the doubtless Guarantee of Everlasting Life that Jesus Promised (John 3:16) .
Hey Pope, roll a big biffter and just as it's going to hit the sweet spot play 'Adventures in a Yorkshire landscape' off 'Live in the Air Age'by Bebop Deluxe.....another English 70's gem.
Chris Squire was a choir boy that's what fueled his talent, God.
😎
That is my fav kind of church music. TY!! ☮️❤️
Beautiful
Yo Pope, but tell me that’s not something you’d expect to hear. Crazy talent.
"What he heard now resembled the movement, over
centuries, of things that to men seem motionless only
because their own lives are short: the movement of trees as
they grow and of stars altering their relative places in
the heavens, of mountains slowly ground away through
millennia of heat, frost and storm. It was like the building of
a city. Great, squared blocks of antiphonal sound were
swung and lowered into place, one upon another, until the
heart stood far below, gazing up at the clouds marching
endlessly across the dark line of the completed ramparts.
Zilthe was standing with closed eyes and outstretched
palms. Kelderek, though he saw nothing and felt afraid,
seemed to himself to have been lifted to some plane on
which there was no more need of prayer, since the harmony
that is continually present to the mind of God had been
made audible to his own prostrate, worshipping soul. He
had sunk to his knees and his mouth was twisted like that of
a man in agony. Still listening, he heard the singing
diminish and then slide quickly into silence, like a diver into
deep water." Richard Adams---"Shardik"
Who is the composer of this? You would love any choral piece by Eric Whitacre- check out “ Sleep”. It’s the dreamiest thing you’ll ever hear.
when you enter heaven you. hear Suppers Ready and you already did that one
More YES, please. "And You And I".

@@POPE. ...thank you, sir. I've seen YES 49 times live and been backstage 22 times. What a musical life I have had. I will die a very happy person. Their music means that much. Thanks, Pope, for all you do in spreading YES music to the world. Yours is my favorite You Tube site. Continue on your YES journey. Merry Christmas (don't forget to take a listen to Jon's solo Christmas album "3 Ships". Peace.
Reminds me of Byzantine chanting. Definitely on a celestial plain.
Sounds like Russian choral music. Reminds me I much vatch up 9n it again it is somoving.
Absolutely beautiful. Don't think that's baritone, must be bass
I thought Heaven would sound more like Hendrix's first chords to Purple Haze
💓💓💓
Check out Mozart Requiem
Pope, what song do you want to hear while entering heaven? 🤔
good question 🤔
@@POPE. Hope it's a YES song!?❤🌅
@@jeffschielka7845 "Awaken" would be the perfect choice!
@@TheReaperMan275 Thank you. I think so. One of my favorite YES masterpieces.😎
@@TheReaperMan275 That's what I said in my comment. 😎
Bro you need to do some Iron Maiden songs reactions, should start with 'Hallowed be thy name' from the Rock in Rio concert or 'Live after Death' concert, you will be amazed by them and they are one of the GOATS like Pink Floyd
It is a beautiful piece but there is not alot of joy in it. There is a very sorrowful emotion being delivered here, I am curious as to what the libretto might reveal. The deep baritone was wonderfully shocking and instantly brought a whole new intimate level of darkness into it.
Who was the composer?
Interesting. A concert in a church or a clip of a religious observance? Both maybe? "The Glinka Choral School is the oldest professional academic institution in Russia. It dates back to 1479 when the Sovereign’s Chorus of Singing Scribes (founded by Grand Duke Ivan III of Moscow in 1476) opened its Chorus of Young Choristers. The singers performed at the celebration of the Russian Empire’s new capital foundation. The ensemble’s history has been closely tied to the history of St Petersburg even since." -- Mariinsky Theatre The composition is "Reveille ('Pushkin Wreath'-No.7)" by Georgy Sviridov (1915-1998). The notion of Russian heaven leads me to think about the war in Ukraine and the conscripts foolishly sent to their deaths. For more ethereal classical music of that sort check out Arvo Pärt --- "Te Deum" performed by the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and "De Profundis" performed by the Chór Polskiego Radia (Polish Radio Choir). And for something with a somewhat more uptempo sublimity check out the Catalyst Quartet performing Philip Glass - String Quartet No. 3 "Mishima", VI -- The UA-cam clip of that has over a million views.
This is Russia for me not the idiot in charge
Im not a church goer, but that was very beautiful. I'm pretty new here. I know you like Rush. Have you done The Camera Eye yet? That song is amazing.
