A light bulb just went off. Now I completely understand their wicks. I had purchased a variety pack and I couldn't figure out one size to another. This was the BEST explanation and full of information!
Amazing insight. Your delivery was top notch. This is exactly what was on mind , trying to figure this concept out and boom came across your video. Perfect timing. Can you please do a video on cotton wicks, particularly on the natural waxes -soy coco/apricot etc. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for this video. I have been a soapmaker for 23 years and have always wanted to make candles but always stop when it comes to the wicks. I am hoping to practice over the summer so I can make some candles for Christmas gifts for family this year. My eyes were glazing over on the Maksey site trying to figure out wooden wicks. This has helped so much!!!
Thank you so much for this video. It is very helpful. I recently started working with coconut soy wax and did not realize cocosoy uses a wick that is not as thick as the wick you use for 100% soy which is the wax I customarily work with and definitely use the .04 wick for it. The .02 recommendation for coconut soy saves me from spending a lot of money to test different wicks.
This is one of the best videos for wood wick guides I have seen. Thank you so much for the detailed info! I’m curious if you have experience with their X wicks? I’ve been struggling with HT in my coco-apricot candles. Can’t tell if it’s my formula (tried several) or if it’s the wick type.
Thanks for this helpful video! I currently swtiched from Coco Soy to 100% soy and was struggling to find the right wick. Also, what about the length to cut the wick? I found mine works better when I cut them to 1/8 instead of 1/4.
great information, thank you so much! what would you recommend for a 3in diameter using coco apricot creme wax? website recommended whisper booster .02/.375" but I'm concerned the .375" will be too small?
Hi loved your video first one I have seen that really drives home the best way to pick a ww Question I am using EC 2600 coco soy blend what range of fragrance oil should I use with we I heard it should be lower
Hello thank you for the video, I'm still not exactly sure what I need I'm using 10 oz jars and the measurements are 2.8 * 3.4 * 2.8 in I use apricot creme wax and I'm trying to get a determination on the crackling wicks just to make sure. the other dimension is my 7 oz jar the measurements are 14.96x9.06x 4.09 inches. I know I want a cracking wick #0.2 help please Thanks
I am so glad you have a video about this. I have never used a wooden wick and I want to try it. I'm working on my order with Makesy but I still don't think I have it right as my first go at it. The more I watch the video with the dough bowl and this one the more frustrated I get but thankfully your voice is soothing. I have Virgin Coco/Soy and their 5 oz tin with a diameter approx. 3.5 "diameter and another vessel with a 2.5 inch diameter. Which do you recommend? And what do you recommend when i use coco/apricot? I appreciate your help and wave my white surrendering flag lol!
I understand your frustration!!! With the 3.5” try crackling 02 booster .5” and with the 2.5” diameter try the crackling single ply 3 or 4 in a .325” I hope this helps!
Great vid! But I'm still trying to figure out the best width size for a 3.25-3.5 in candle vessel with coco apricot wax. I know I need a booster but still not sure of the right width.
I'm just learning and just want to do for fun. I plan on doing 14oz vessels can you please tell me what crackle wood wick to purchase for 14oz containers? And how many per jar?? I'm going to be using igi6006 wax.

Are wood wicks ok for pillars too?
Thank YOU! ❤

When do you double Wick with the wooden wicks?
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for the video and discount code! 🤗

If the diameter of your 10oz jar is 3.4” then I would start with the .5”’crackling booster 02
So informative
Thank you for this video. I totally did the wrong thing the first time I made a batch of candles with wood wicks.
This was so helpful I have a 8 oz aura with the booster .02 .625
I am so glad you have a video about this. I have never used a wooden wick and I want to try it. I'm working on my order with Makesy but I still don't think I have it right as my first go at it. what would you recommend for a 3-3.5 diameter? (.02 for cocosoy)
Great vid! But I'm still trying to figure out the best width size for a 3.25-3.5 in candle vessel with coco apricot wax. I know I need a booster but still not sure of the right width.
Start with .5” wide and booster 03. And go from there. You may not need to go to .625.
I'm just learning and just want to do for fun. I plan on doing 14oz vessels can you please tell me what crackle wood wick to purchase for 14oz containers? And how many per jar?? I'm going to be using igi6006 wax.
Depends on the diameter of the vessel. Use either 2- 5” wide crackling 03 or 1 .625” crackling 03 to start.
@@HowToLymarie I checked the jars im ordering and its 3.93"
@@LaurieDangerfield ok then I would start with 1-.625” wide wick. Crackling 02 or 03
@@HowToLymarie Just 1 per jar ??
@@HowToLymarie Im not sure which one that is on maksey website
I have tried with the .02 either CAC with 3 in diameter 8oz aura and No Fragrance and still not a full melt pool what do you suggest
I would try a crackling booster 03
I love that I can get custom height wicks from Makesy so I don’t have to trim.
Right? Don’t forget to use my discount code when you order!
el mas pequeno es el .375 no hay .25
I don’t see a note to spell the code. And didn’t see name of company spelled until I scrolled thru comments. Otherwise this was a great video!
New sub. I’m still too scared to start actually posting. ❤
For a 3.5 diameter what size wood wick is best for 100 soy wax ( 464) THX
