You might have lost the competition, but you won the hearts of your fans. You were such a joy to watch, and your enthusiasm and exuberance came out on screen. You took on some legit professional fighters and did twice as good as I could have.

I think they should bring you back for 2 reasons : 1. To show your progress, i bet you became a stronger and certainly a more confident man after this event and your competitions. (At least it feels like) 2. You're too damn good to watch. Your personnality and stuff just make you so funny, you were a star of the show in your own rights
Ranton, all of us have definitely won thanks to you taking part. You conduct yourself in such a wholesome, genuine, funny and relatable way, that you make EVERY situation better just by being present. It's a different level of self defense victory, because having more people like you in the world would make it a better and safer place with less need for self defense :)

For someone who had never thrown a punch at another human, your ability to land power shots in the moment was very, very impressive. Nice work dude, you have done yourself proud!
Hi Ranton, I hope you see this. I started watching this show a few weeks ago because I find fighting and self defence so interesting. I'm a 5'1 girl that weighs about 50kgs and got assaulted by a random drunk guy last week while I was having coffee for not giving him a cigarette, and have been suffering from Acute Stress Disorder (the precursor to PTSD) symptoms ever since. I've wanted to take up a combat sport for a long time but since that incident I didn't think I could do that, but watching you and your positive attitude about everything makes me think that maybe I can give it a shot again and that things will be okay. Thanks for being you.
Just make sure not to fall for any scam self-defence stuff. Learn some legit combat martial arts which ranton himself has clarified many times. Also stay safe, aware, and confident. The best fights are those that are avoided, so just dip if you have the chance lol as most of us would in real life. Try to learn from the past incident instead of letting get a hold of you, what's done is done. Seek professional help if needed of course.
@@MKIS_33 Thank you, friend. I am going to sign up to a Krav Maga gym when therapy has gotten me to a place where I can spar without getting flashbacks.
@@shinpi6669no disrespect, but krav maga is not as legit as you may think it. Most if not all gyms offer 1-2 free trial classes, if they don’t might be sketchy as well.

Watching all the behind the scenes stuff on everyone's channels was almost as much fun as watching the real deal; the brotherhood and good vibes between all of you guys were amazing to see
tip for Rokas in regards to having enough footage is that I think the analysis of the situations after the fact is just as interesting if not more interesting than the actual footage of the situation. Maybe bringing in previous contestants to analyze the performances would be interesting to get some extra content
You may not have won but you shared some deep, deep wisdom for all the viewers AND the other fighters. "Heeheehee!!!" -Ranton, with the realest quote from the whole show.
I started watching your content around the time of your Skyrim review, and since then, I’ve seen pretty much all of them, multiple times. A few months ago, I also started to watch content of guys like SenseiSeth, Jesse Enkamp, and others, and I even saw some episodes of USDC Season 1. So when I found out that you were a contestant in Season 2, I was happy like a little boy and knew it's gonna be epic. And it was! You became my favorite in this series and seeing you switch into Rant-ON in the Knife-Scenario was amazing to watch. I loved every part of that show. Thank you for saying 'yes' to this opportunity, and thanks to the other contestants and especially the production team. So much hard work went into this project… Looking forward to Season 3!
You were so sweet and fun to watch, even though you lost you won our hearts. Every time I saw you blow a kiss to the camera in the midst of everyone's "badass" montage, it always made me smile.
GG Ranton 👍👍 The sum of the two numbers in the 16 you got is 7 😉 Destiny indeed...which you were great on his podcast...They are all lucky it wasn't a videogame competition. 🎮👊
Its so cool to see how you got to show your boxing and bjj and how you got to use your accuracy in striking and shifting weight in ur bjj in the bar + with jeff in the bus like what you said with the shaolin skills you transferred to other disciplines
I just appreciate that you gave it a go even knowing how it'd likely turn out. Hope it's productive for you going forward either in daily life or your other martial hobbies.
Do they teach stand-up comedy at your temple because honestly you were the spirit of this season. I swear you and Craig weren't there to win, but for a fun time and that's why I rooted for you both. Everyone was phenomenal but you brought something special to this season
Your videos about the experience should be required viewing for the competition. Loved watching this whole thing, and I really hope Season 3 gets the funding it needs to grow from what the team learned here in season 2. The attackers definitely need a more specific set of parameters for when and how they respond to the competitors. The psychology of dealing with conflict is so much a part of surviving, defusing, or escalating a fight, but those skills are hard to demonstrate if the attackers behave like video game grunts who will fight to the death.
You did the smartest thing you could - you pulled your punches so that they don't roll over you with theirs! Well done, firstly I didn't even think of it.
Hands down this series was so fun and informative to watch. I'm glad that you had the courage to participate and try your best. I hope I'll see you in S3 ;)
You might have come out last but it was inspiring to see you consistently improve during the challenges. And you were one of the best contenders in the shank tank, one of the hardest challenges during the entire competition. Good job and it was really entertaining to see how much fun you had.
Even though you lost, I'm very proud of you for not backing down from facing highly trained fighters (and Craig lol). You're still our epic game reviewing Shaolin monk ❤❤❤
In this Season 2 there were 2 magical moments, when Nathan back kicked awesomely, and then when Ranton hit his fists into the heads of the opponents in the knife pit. Those two moments were pure real martial arts, without any reservations,
You took your training, applied in in a realistic situation and for the first time in life threw hands. Much respect. Went from martial artists to fighter inside where it matter so much
After watching this full series (which I loved), it seemed like the Ultimate Self Defense Championship team was trying to go big for Season 2 and really push their boundaries. I'm sorry to hear that there were so many issues, but I wouldn't have known had I only seen the final product with no perspective. It was so fun to watch! I hope you all stay in touch! Also dang, last NOVEMBER!? I remember you mentioning this, but dang, a full year in production sounds rough!
“the essence of kungfu training is improving skills and enhancing force (not merely learning elaborate techniques) - the process of which necessitates practising simple actions over and over again, many, many, many times.” - Wong Kiew Kit Or in Western terms: "It ain't about how hard you get hit; it's about how hard you can get yet, get back up, and keep moving forward." - Rocky You had the courage of a lion with the smile and good nature of a lamb the whole time, and for THAT I believe you showed off how Shaolin speaks through YOU. Thank you for expressing the "Art" behind the Martial.
My goodness it was soooo fun seeing you there. Outside of your comfort zone too. I really hope you'll do more stuff like this😁 (this was a lot better than creator clash)
You didn’t lose, you were the sixth best! 😁 I indeed was a bit disappointed that by the fighting situations you didn’t show some Shaolin stuff; would have been interesting to see, but you came through, and indeed, your performance made the show much more fun, and besides Nathan and Craig you surely won the sympathy prize! 👏
Honestly even when it was clear you weren't going to win the championship I was still rooting for you. It was great to see you put yourself out there and I felt like in a lot of ways you were almost more of the "regular guy" than Craig
You did pretty well, sir. The challenges were crazy hard, and your fellow competitors were quite beastly. The season was brutal and you made it through... with your head up and your pride intact. These are the kinds of experiences that make any martial artist grow !!!
I think you have spoken your case well. we are all glad that you decided to go! We would also love to see you go again, not only for the laughs, but to see you grow! It’s up to you, but for me it’s very thrilling to see you use your kung fu under pressure and inspires me in my own journey with kung fu! I appreciate you man! Thank you for creating the channel!
You were hilarious, entertaining, and had one of the absolute highlight of highlight moments in the shank tank when you busted out those hands and surprised everyone. We ALL felt pruod of you there and you deserved the props you got from your fellow fighters. And, on Natan, I think what UFC and general pro MMA taught him, and Jeff Chan the year prior's champ, is that the fight itself is not the only thing to watch. Natan and Jeff both have a pile of experience (Jeff was a cop FFS) with real situations where someone was trying to harm, and I think that experience helps greatly when needing to keep your cool in a fight. I completely agree that Natan won because he was sharp, observant, and always kept his wits about him.

I honestly enjoyed the comic relief, Ranton. Kudos to you for giving it your all and making it enjoyable to watch.
I loved seeing you out there! You all made it so much fun to watch!
Love your 'Martial art adventures' type of content. This was one of the best ones so far, funny as hell and interesting as we never see behind the scenes of shows like this. Great Job man I laughed my butt off several times!
I was rooting for you and Natan the whole time. That knife attack scenario was an absolute BADA§§ performance Ranton!

You lost the competition but won in our hearts 🥲
bottom self-defence, but top content.
we love you even more now bro. great sportsmanship
my goat ranton can never lose in my eyes, you won in ways they can’t even comprehend
Congratulations! Proud of you for stepping out of your comfort zone, and having fun doing it. Hope to see more!
This whole show was secretly a plot from Shi Heng Yi to slow Rantons ascent to the European Shaolin temple- that’s the only reason he lost.
my partner and I got great joy out of spotting your smiling during serious challenges haha, please do S3!
This is awesome, love to see your perspective! It’s also fun to see you do stuff outside of gaming.
Amazing. I binged the whole series today just to watch this.
Ranton you are awesome and I'm so happy you did this!
You have a lovely bubbly personality that is just as contagious as your smile bro. You've got a good heart and showed the most growth over this season of USDC and I'm honestly impressed because I didn't think a Shaolin Monk could actually fight and you proved me WRONG! I think you learned your lessons. Kudos and best wishes!
Yo Ranton i just loved your energy :) It was a blast watching this
I was amazed by your performance in the shank tank, props to your efforts in the overall contest dude ❤
