Did someone say [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]?
Yeah I'm pretty sure someone said [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]
You know, I am almost positive someone said [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker] .
holy shit yo I think someone said [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]
Is it the [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker] you guys talk about?
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE
Sorry about the re-upload - had a big error that I didn't want to leave in. Thanks to those who corrected me! Hope you enjoy the video.
I got my wind lords mixed up. Had Thunderaan in Al'akir's place for the title of "wind lord".
Looks like the wind was getting out of his hands ;)
@MadSeasonShow
I first got the Thunderfury in a Private server on LK expansion. I did the whole process of farming all the materials and the Bindings. I had killed Baron Geddon without even noticing he was a boss as he was bugged on the server and with only 400 health so i instantly killed him and he dropped the Binding. I then researched on WoWHead about it and learned about the quest chain, did it and got the weapon, being me the first person on the server to obtain it.
In 2011 i started playing in Blizzard, both Sulfuras and the Thunderfury were my main challenges for the official servers but i managed to get the Sulfuras with less than 3 months of playing on Blizzard , all done on my own and the Thunderfury around 6~7 months and i often carry it with pride on the back of my Warrior.
how come you do no mention something called "threat" ? have ppl completly forgotten it ? there was a time where this weapon was BiS even some time during WotLK cuz the dmg from the weapon proc did generate alot of threat and thus making it insane weapon for tanks as there were times during WoW that ppl had hart time to maintain aggro as a tank and dps even had to stop dps'ing for a while to not get 1 shot by the boss - patchwerk in naxx for melee very good example - i still remember those overaggro days patch turns around 1 sec bam and you are dead ... but these days i guess ppl dont even know what threat means and this game is just lame for many expansion long ... such a shame!

Did someone say [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]?
Fun Fact - This dwarfen Warrior (nameless Adventurer) from the shaman questline is an easter egg to Grim (I think, this was his name) from TG Gaming, who was the first player to obtain the weapon in the game.
Didn't know that...that's pretty cool!
Wray of Immortality, Skullcrusher US was the first one to get Thunderfury :)
Fishfutta verycoolguy was the firs one to obtain the combat attack one hand thunderfury on elysium private wow server
Sofus krogh huehue
Sofus krogh hahahaha nobody gives a fuck

He even has a video on WoW pickup lines
These get me hyped for Classic
to keep the jokes in the right timeframe: Chuck Norris uses thunderfury blessed blade of the windseeker as toothpick
Chuck Norris jokes?
What is this? 2008
ZA WARUDO! MUDAMUDA! WRYYY well, Norris quotes where used all over in that time
ZA WARUDO! MUDAMUDA! WRYYY Chuck never dies...he should be dead for 5 years but Death is scared to tell him.
Chuck Norris is imba.
I remmeber when those jokes went around when they tried out global chat.
Was so happy when I got mine in Vanilla, got the right binding only a few months into MC, but then it took 34 weeks for my left to drop I had almost given up hope. Thank goodness for 40 man raids back then you always needed to gear new raiders and alts, a few weeks after I got my last binding and the Firelord essence we stopped MC for good when AQ opened. Funny enough by the time I got all the bars ready my OT got his last drop too so we waited and made 2 Thunderfurys on the same day, was a cool experience almost 18 years ago now. 100's of my fellow Destromath players join us for the raid. I do believe we were the only guild to make 2 in one day on that server. I don't play wow anymore but I do very much miss my old guildees in Souls of FXC still talk to a few but many are lost to time. Thanks for the videos they always make me smile.
Not only was it a Legendary weapon, it was legendary in its requirements to obtain.
Better than the thing the did in legion.
"THE ONE CHAMPION OF AZEROTH, HERE IS A COMPLETELY UNIQUE LEGENDARY WEAPON FOR YOU, OH HOW SPECIAL AND UNIQUE YOU ARE"
meanwhile surrounded by thousands being told the same thing and getting the same weapon.
I would rather it be able to get it unless I was in the right groups and keep a sense of wonder than everyone get all the toys.
@@zhain0 That's the problem with WOW these days.... everybody, literally 10,000 dudes on the server are ALL batman superman thanos nonsense.
Some minor trivia: Originally the items were simply called Elementium Ore and Elementium Bar. When Cataclysm used those names for its own normal quality blacksmithing reagents, they have to rename the originals "Enchanted" and "Ingot" respectively to keep them special.
Amazing video. Love all of your vanilla content. Look forward to more and more. I like how you go very deep into detail and lore, and it's not just a 2 minute long video. Keep it up!
I watched your video today, had the left binding, tought i would give a chance today for the right binding, and incredibly it dropped :D Thanks for the awesome series!
the original ashbringer and yes i would like to see this type of series continued
One day i was talking with someone who had the sword. I asked them to take me to SM and they agreed. It was an amqsing experience, walking through SM and RPing hard
Not all famous weapons need to be Legendary. An episode on Rhok'delar would be awesome. Or maybe Gorehowl, still a shame we never got that sweet model from WoD as a usable weapon.
There is a weapon with the EXACT same model just a tad smaller from Hellfire Citadel i think, enjoy ;)
Finally the updated model is in the Dragonflight mega dungeon as a super rare drop
This was fantastic! Thank you for explaining this story to me! Much appreciation, and much love! Your channel is awesome in my opinion. Thanks Man
Mad, I just got mine, bro! Literally like 15 min ago! So damn hyped! I came back to check this video once again and share it with you! Thank you for inspiring me to farm the mats! ❤️
I know it isn't particularly "epic", and it doesn't really have a crazy questline to get one, but I'd love to see a video on the good old fashioned arcanite reaper.
Back in vanilla, those things were so good that they became a sort of rite of passage for any warrior or paladin to obtain. Once you hit a high level, you started having to either grind the materials to craft one, or desperately beg a guildmate to make it for you.
Every warrior had one. Every single warrior.
Yeah, just like the titansteel destroyer from wotlk. Is easy to create a legendary weapon, but an inconic one takes a whole different kind of effort. (The kind that wow doesnt have anymore)
As a vanilla rogue, farming the Arcanite Reaper plan from an elite mob in LBRS was one of my favorite occupation. Was quite unforgiving as well. I miss those days.
Did someone say....
FatLeon93 i'm pretty sure someone said [thunderfury, blessed blade of the windseeker] but i could be wrong

Who said [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]?
Awesome new series, I love seeing all the weapon models i've never seen before. Thanks for the cool content!
Really enjoyed this, you're right in saying it has a lot of potential. I hope to see you do many more of these.
Hunter weapon.
ua-cam.com/video/_tE2dbmyYjs/v-deo.html
I think world first drop was handed to a hunter
maajkemii That is a tragedy.
ua-cam.com/video/2uTrOc0lfXY/v-deo.html Just saying.... Lol ;P
Ricky Chops hunter weapon, hunter weapon... ooooo this must be for a hunter!
Loved it can't wait to see the next episode
Watching this video brought back so many memories. I remember the grueling task of getting this weapon. It took me forever and there was also quite a bit of drama involved.
I may have only gotten it at level 70 but it still felt like such an accomplishment.
Aaah.. the good old days..
Though I never actually raided in classic, (I wasn't even max level, I didn't really push myself in the game until just before Wrath - before that, I spent most of my time doing things like exploring, fishing, crafting, etc.), I remember seeing people with Thunderfury. I remember hearing stories about the epic quest to assemble it.
I'm currently leveling a Shaman up, and I did the order hall quests for that last week. I loved the whole quest line, it really felt epic after those memories of hearing the stories in vanilla.
Gosh i can't wait to play Classic wow, the nostalgic feels amazing; makes me rethink back in to good o' days
Well for a suggestion, I would say that Warglaives of Azzinoth (including all the shenanigans people went through to try and game the system and get them) or how about Shadowmourne, that was a pretty insane questline. Also since you did the high blade, how about doing the sister blade, Quel'Delar. Probably one of my favourite solo questlines of all time. I still remember logging on the second my server came up and 3.3 launched, the battered hilt dropped for my first ever LFG group from the first mob killed and I won the roll, people in the group were offering me 50 and 100k to trade it to them, I declined and to this day that rogue is still wielding it as I stopped pleying her when 4.0.2a came out. Good times. Or how about Dragonwrath, since I have never played a caster I never bothered to look into that one, and Cata was a loooooooong time ago, now.
I finished my Quel"Delar quest line right when WoD finished. I had that hilt in my bags since Wrath. Just I stopped playing my pally (since shadow priest were so OP at the end of Wrath.) and never got around to it. Hit 100 and dedicated my entire day completing that questline.
+Brotherhood It really is an epic storyline, right? Definitely one of my favourites. For a lore junkie like me, it really highlighted a storyline blizzard had been developing since WC3, while developing a separate and new story that not only fit in, but enhanced the original. Darn it now I want to run the Quel'Delar questline again. Cursed nostalgia. To the Auctionhouse! Lol

Just a terrific trip into WoW and so detailed! Well done!!! :)
Keep videos like this coming man! I love all of your very niche videos like this and not many people do them
I have friends who have never even played WoW, who to this day still say "Did someone say [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]?"
Truly the most powerful meme weapon ever created
bullshit story.
Pretty sure someone said [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]
>anal [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]
Please continue this series. Always love the nostalgia involved with your videos.
Really enjoyed this one. Would love to see more in this series!
The legendary daggers were the main reason I wanted to pick up a rogue. It would be cool if you were to make an episode regarding that.
Thanks for the suggestion - I'll add them to the list. In fact I'll start the quest line now since I believe it takes a month or so to complete if I remember correctly.
before i watch the video i need to say:
WTB [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]
Did some one say [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade Of The Windseeker]?
Already love the series. You are the best!
Love ur videos man, so much research and effort into em. love it.
I was a rogue in vanilla and I got the TF. It took us over a year to get both bindings with raids every week. I suspect the main reason I got it and it didn't go to a tank was the fact I was the raid leader.
MadSeason this i a really cool channel with a lot of wow nostalgia. Keep up the good work!
Did the guild officers vote on it?
@@jon4715 bet some noshing went on
Did someone say [Thunderfury, the Blessed Blade of the Windseeker!]
You should definitely continue this series. I think it could be on of your best. Great stuff as usual.
Ty for this beautiful Mage weapon review!
Did someone say [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]?!
Enjoyable video. Thanks. I wanted to toss out an idea that could go in line with this series. Would you consider doing a sort of combination episode with a handful of memorable items that don't really have much lore, but a lot of importance or were noteworthy in WoW's history. My first example is the Barman's Shanker from BRD. Iconic and sought after for it's incredibly slow speed for Rogues. There's others without lore, but with significance such as Unstoppable Force and the Immovable Object. Just some suggestions.
Great idea.
Great start to the series!
LOVE this series. You are excellent, bro!
Glad to hear it! Thank you for watching.
A perfect example of how Vanilla forced cooperative, community efforts. Even if it benefited everyone in a guild, can you imagine anyone bothering to invest so much into someone else nowadays?
God forbid.
If my guild and I went through all that shit to get [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker] you can bet your ass I'd spam chat with [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]
Nowadays it'll be everyone investing into a streamer who got it after being carried by 39 other people.
Kilivin who could that be? Surely not Asmon?
Can you imagine anyone willing to spend half their waking hours playing this game nowadays when the world is moving at such a fast pace?
To benefit a guild member?
@@DivineAtheistWannabe What would be the point, it would be irrelevant by the time they got it anyway.
isn´t the intro music a song from Blind Guardian? 0:10-0:26?
You asked "if we want to see more of these" I honestly watch whatever video you make, these are so good
I love your soundtrack choices my dude
After watching all of your Time Warp and this, you're definitely getting a sub.
I know this might seem odd, but don't you think Kang the Decapitator should get some love? Enter level 49 twink Enhance Shamans?
those days...I had it with my enhance shaman and warrior. On 39 the "pendulum" with a 4.0 attack speed was a garantueed oneshot if 1 wf procc critted
I think you should do the Legendarys in order from 1st to last. And throw in some of the best Epics.
After a long day at college and then work an hour later, your video came in just in time to brighten the mood. Thanks Madseason
continue the series.... it is interesting to know the lore behind the weapons.....as well as what it takes to make them...... thanks for making them.
Can you do the legendary hammer from wotlk?....I 4got how it was called,it was from ulduar
Zack Zek Val'anyr
Keep it up
i live for madseason every week. azeroth arsenal sounds pretty interesting in itself as well, do continue!
I appreciate it. It could be a fun series =)
A cool thing to note is that Thunderfury was nerfed multiple times, but in its very original form was still the most insane rogue weapon at the time. Despite being Main Hand only and too fast, the proc was so overtuned that you could achieve completely obscene dps and give you AOE power rivaling mages.

Great video, I'll be looking forward to more videos like it.
Did any one say [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]?!!!!
If only you got all of the views from asmongold added onto your videos. I wish you could do that just because this content is so loved.
Thanks madseason
I saw someone in the comments mention the OG Ashbringer, and would also add the Corrupted Ashbringer to that request.
Love the videos, keep up the great work!
Yeah i really like this series, Keep it up. Love your content man!
So let me guess, you've had this video in mind for a while now and already had one half of the bindings but you just got the other half this week and finally were able to finish making this video?
......
anal [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]
I'm so excited for this series. My favorite Non-Legendary weapon, and my suggestion is Ashkandi Greatsword of the Brotherhood!
MadSeasonShow has become my favorite WoW channel pretty fast, alongside Taliesin and Evitel. Love your content, calming voice, and rather frequent uploading. I'll see about supporting you any way I can.
Wait, what did you say?
I, Gamon, will save us.
+Girbot119 I think he might have just uttered those most dreaded of all tradechat words, *[Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of The Windseeker]* , but I could be wrong. After all who in their right minds would utter those words that have caused us all such pain, *[Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of The Windseeker]* , INTENTIONALLYY. No I think +Divinxve is right, someone was just quoting Gamon, and we all THOUGHT we heard, *[Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of The Windseeker]* , but we didn't.
I'm pretty sure he said [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of The Windseeker]
there is a lot wrong with this video. First off, you didn't need both halves to start the quest. You just needed one half to get the essence of the firelord off of rag. Second off, the sword was only equipable by Hunters, Rogues, Pallys, and Warriors. Not every class that could use a sword. Also the stop mentioning DKP, 80% of all guilds used a loot council, and would give the bindinds to the tank. Rare cases exist of hunters and rogues having thunderfury, but a majority of the time it went to tanks. Guilds would always save all of their mats from MC, so obtaining the Elementium Bars were not as hard as you might think. Firey cores are not rare. The trasnmute had a 2 day cooldown, not a one day CD. Elementium ingots were not rare either
You extinguished the runes to summon Major Domo, then you were able to fight rag. After 3 hours Rag would despawn and you would have to go back and kill domo again, to have a shot at killing rag.
Last note, Thunderfury was only a Main hand weapon until Naxx, they updated it then allowing it to be wielded on the OH. It was still good as a main hand for rogues, but there were better in AQ40.
I think the class restriction wasn't implemented at the very beginning, but my memory is cloudy.
Class restriction was present when the weapon was put into the game. Paladins, Hunters, Warriors and Rogues only. It wasn't untill far into Wrath of the Lich King that any class could start the quest. Also, the priest that mindcontrolled the NPC in Blackwing Lair, had to use his ability "smelt elementium" to teach players how to smelt the bars. Just talking to the guy didn't do anything.
Also it was right hand only, later changed into dual usable...
Used to be best for Furry Warriors too then. ( Combined with the Vis´Kag the Bloodletter in Main Hand )
I Should know since i had it as an Tank/Furry ... Basically outdamaging everyone in the Raid with mostly only def Gear...
Not 100% correct. All of the guilds I was playing with in Vanilla used DKP. Most guilds did on the realms I played on. But, when Eye of Sulfuras, or the bindings dropped, the officers of course dealt with it as a loot council, not by DKP. If you only ran by DKP then you 1 raid Left half could drop, lets say Rogue with most DKP uses all his DKP on this. Next raid the Right half drops, and the owner of left half is now stuck with 0 dkp so some other guy bids and wins the part the rogue was missing. Which would be a very stupid situation, which I believe probably happened to some guilds.
On our first Ragnaros kill, the Eye of Sulfuras dropped. Officer (Holy, ret/prot was not viable at all) Paladin had most DKP, so he said he wanted it and would use all his DKP for it. Arms warrior also wanted it, but had less DKP. Officers gathered and decided it would be a waste to put the Legendary 2H weapon in the hands of a healer/useless Retribution Paladin, and instead chose to gift it to the Arms Warrior. The Paladin officer left the guild. This situation got leaked into general chat, and was the subject for some hours with the whole server basically saying their opinion of how my guild should have dealt with it. Pretty funny how close Server Communities was back then!
Freudian slip? :p Fuckn' furries :D
Yes keep thrse comming def a trip down nostalgia lane
your very original and i havent seen any of the series that you make, your a high quality channel, respect
Love yer voice Mad it just relaxes me and your a great story teller, you kids and grandkids will love it too..take care and ty~ YES continue Mad.

This was a great video. Please do more.
This series has my seal of approval! Start with the Vanilla weapons and climb up the expansions (can't wait for Sulfuras and Shadowmourne)
This was awesome! Please we need more
yo this is badass 0.0 like no other gamei played had something to this extent to do more so now-a-days shits soo mind numbingly easy its no longer fun just a chore, this sounds like a truly legendary quest to get a truly legendary weapon
Love it! Great episode! :D
Going back and watching madseasonshow old videos and missing the old days :(
great job Mad! keep it up
Great video as always!
Would love to see more episodes of this.
Your videos are wonderful and certainly instill a yearning to play WoW through and through.
Ah, when WoW was still epic.
Please continue this series. I didn't realize it took that much to get it. !
Please keep doing this series. I love it!!!
I enjoyed the concept of an entire raid working towards the progression of one person, it made the raid setting seem like more of a team effort working to an overarching goal. Today, it feels like a race to the last boss for tier.
A neat idea. It kind of reminds me of the backstory journals players get for their artifact weapons.
loved the vid mate. Keep it up!
You're opening music puts me in mind of a soft opener from Type O Negative. I like it.
Very well done - thank you for this!!
loved it man keep them coming
I love your videos. Don't stop making them. Respect and peace
Continue the series, and thank you for the entertaining video!
