Instead of running out with blankets at the end of the season, have you considered having a type of permanent hoop system in place where you could just throw plastic over it all to elongated the season? Just curious. It might be easier & you'd maybe add a month or more.
From Mary: It is Achillea. It is pronounced "a kill e a" or "ack a lea." I’ve heard it both ways. There are yellow varieties also but this is a white one (maybe the variety ‘The Pearl’) but she did not say the variety so I don’t know for sure.
