      The fish is going to die not because of the questionable paints, but because of fake construction. The wood can't be builted with cement and that's why he cover all around the pallet with decor.
      The cement for building needs asbestos too. Is just a fake thing for several minutes, not a real decoration

    I’ve built dozens of water features. Usually start out with a basic plan in mind. Water pump, reservoir, and a way to make it fall. I make up the rest as I go. I wish I was half as creative as this man.

    Looks pretty, but will this last? The pallet as a base seems like a terrible idea. The wood will rot (completley untreated, masonry is porous) and even before then, it will expand and contract at a different rate than the masonry, so wouldn't that cause cracking and flaking? I don't see why you wouldn't just do it the right way and build a form, especially for that small of a feature.

    • @sethg6157
      @sethg6157 2 роки тому +5

      It won't last for the reasons you stated. Does make a nice cheap temporary instillation though :)

    • @Psychodermia
      @Psychodermia 2 роки тому +13

      I'm thinking that the cement and other coverings will block out oxygen, moisture and other things that would cause it to rot. Thing is, even if it does rot, the rest of the materials will support it just fine. Time will tell. ✌️👽

      Why make it for you? It's actually really fun to do brick work. And it's not hard.
      I worked as a laborer in construction & did my first time bricklaying there.
      After the first time, my boss said he'd like to have 10 of me, due to my "perfectionist" work with bricks & made me do it all from then on out. To me, it was fun to work with the mud & bricks to create things. And we weren't doing artistry work, we were building water ducts & tunnels. Still, it was fun.

  • @RKaye87

    Very nice waterfall, but I have one suggestion; next time you build one, the water for the fish must be much deeper. If a cat wanders into your yard, it can easily catch the fish in the amount of water you now have.

    What a great idea! Loved the outcome despite the somewhat questionable choice of colour, but that's personal preference, I'm just a person who prefers neutrals.
    The only thing I'm really not a fan of is having fish in such a shallow and comparatively small pool and without any shelter for them. There sure must be other ways to liven up such a lovely fountain, swimming candles or a small form of water lilies or something along those lines, for example.

    • @justasmalltowngirl9430
      @justasmalltowngirl9430 3 роки тому +2

    • @nicoleroth3127
      @nicoleroth3127 3 роки тому +3

      @@justasmalltowngirl9430 Sure, but isn't that beside the point?
      Figuratively speaking, it''s like in the story of the three little pigs, the house built from wood is better than the one that was made of straw but it still doesn't provide the shelter needed to be safe from the big bad wolf, that would be the house built from stone. - If you get yourself animals, in this case fish, you've got a responsibility to house them in a way where they are safe and comfortable or otherwise they will wither and die. Now, I assume the guy in the video just put them in for effect and is housing the fish elsewhere when he isn't filming (somewhere appropriate), however, there are enough people who would take this as a good idea without thinking twice while there are other options to decorate such a shallow pool. Because yes, this IS better than a fishbowl, but it's too shallow and exposed regardless.

    Потрясающе! Деревянный палет! Как оснавание для воды! Между кирпичами щели в палец! Тряпки обмазанные, цементом, краска фасадная! И вы думаете что это будет стоять? На два месяца! И все протечет и развалиться! Я вообще удевился как сразу во все стороны ручьи не потекли! Тряпки вообще не гидроизолятор! А деревяная арматура для цемента до первой жары или морозов! Краска только эмаль по бетону! Не меньше! Иначе рыбки убегут до первой кормежки!

    This would probably be easier without the palette, just lay some bricks in a square. Nice project all the same

      Doesn't the pallet serve as a rigid frame?

      @@charlesco7413 yes, for a short period, but when the wood rots and collapses, the whole structure will. Crumble, as with any structure, it is only as strong ‘ as your base, brilliant thinking and ability “ but (alas) I fear extreme disappointment in the near future.
