Those boxcar Magums are so nice looking. It's always interesting to me to see just how many guys run Case/IH tractors but use JD planters. I really enjoy hearing directly from the farmers like this on their pserspectives.
John Deere planters are very popular. The MaxEmerge changed the market when it was introduced for 1975. Two farms I grew up near both bought 7200 12 rows new in 1992 and ran them with IH 1066’s. Another had a WFE 2-105 they ran a 12 row 7200 with.
I grew up with those 2 pieces of equipment. We used to plant with our 1066 on that planter. Dad bought a 5488 in 2002 and we planted with it until 3 years ago. I put the magnum on the planter and have loved it.
International Harvester! One of my favorite tractors! I just wish my dad had lived long enough to have found this channel. We farmed with Molines and Olivers. Never pulled any implements over 16’, or 4-16 bottom plows! My dad and I loved farming (Except hay season)! Those days on a hay wagon were brutal, but it prepared me well for football and boot camp!
great video. Looks so crazy watching him plant that fast. Nice seeing guys running and keeping up older equipment. Drone footage really helps us gain perspective of the field size out there. My father almost bought a Demo Magnum 7220 MFWD in fall of 1996 from Monroe Tractor in Canandaigua, NY...I think I remember 65k being the price they quoted; which was a really good deal in retrospect.
Very impressive… love the older Magnum series tractors that now have the ability to run GPS guidance just like modern equipment. 👍 Thank you for sharing this video!!
That magnum is the newest tractor we own along with our 9230. We have all the 86 series 4 wheel drives and many of the 88 series ih. Every one of them have a job and get used every year.
I use a 7120 and a kinze 3205 12 row. I run 5 mph. Perfect setup for me. Only technology i use are row shutoffs and auto steer. These tractors will be goin strong while new ones are sitting in the grove when they get to be 40 years old
Still planting with my Farmall H & IH 230 planter. I plant just fast enough that you can count the clicks of the seed plate registering over the knock out pawl. 😁
Awesome to see that good old magnum running in the field And on believable what it cost in the ‘90’s when you want to buy it new nowadays you pay probably 5x
Have you thought about visiting Ryan Wilhite in west/central Illinois?Remember when the Magnum 7200 Series tractors were introduced in 1993.Actually these 7200 Series were from 130-215 PTO hp not engine hp.
I wonder how the meters works at 9 mph I figured the singulation would go down significantly. I heard he had made seed tube upgrades and precision planting monitor with hydraulic down force which is all good stuff.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should. In my opinion there's no way you can get good seed placement running 9 mph with a tub delivered planter! Cool set-up though!
Ici en Bretagne où il y a plus de cailloux que de terre on casserait le semoir au bout de 50 mètres à cette allure et sur une surface non préparée... 😅
Strange optical illusion .... in the intro, the tires appear to be going in reverse as the tractor goes forward; In the second section, front tires are in reverse, the rears look like the brakes are locked! This tractor is too fast for your camera. 😄
It is an interesting perspective to observe. Normally you see it when a tractor is in transport gear on the road and not in the field. The Precision upgrades speed up planters.
No the Precision Planting upgrades allow the planting at 99% accuracy singulation of the seeds. It is accurate. Many new half million dollar planters today can run at 10 mph.

That's pretty cool that his family bought those new and he's still using them!!

Love the dog riding along
Her name is Bailey she never misses a ride
Great farming tradition.

I am an Oliver/MM fan great tractors. I always enjoy to get a chance to see them still hard at work in the field.
Green or red, old school is always cool!! 🤙🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸
Probably some of the best tractors ever made ?
I like to see older equipment getting it done👍😁 very nice video once again👍👍
Me too 😁
Nothing compares to this Magnum Tractors! A Tractor for a lifetime .
They are well built tractors.

We plant with a john deere 4440 and a john deere 7200 8 row planter with Fertilizer tanks. Plant 4 to 5 mph. Farm In southwest Michigan.
Very nice planting team. The 4440 is my favorite John Deere row crop.
That's absolutely getting the best out of your equipment no matter how old it is!!😊👍🏻
Very impressive… love the older Magnum series tractors that now have the ability to run GPS guidance just like modern equipment. 👍 Thank you for sharing this video!!
That’s a nice setup, I like that 👍👍
Fantastic setup.
It was great to spend time with it in the field.
Love the dog riding along in the cab.
Her name is Bailey. She loves every minute of it.
we dont do corn but the 5130 fwa loader tractor we had was brilliant, all the way to 13,000hrs then it got crispy
I'll take the older non-electronic, non-emission equipment all day long. Go Red!
That magnum is the newest tractor we own along with our 9230. We have all the 86 series 4 wheel drives and many of the 88 series ih. Every one of them have a job and get used every year.
We love our 7140. Pulls a 16/31 Kinze with ease
I pulled a kinze 16/31 with the 7220 for 8 years. Handled it great. We sold it and upgraded the 7200 to run both corn and soybeans.

The Box Car Magnums are modern day day classics. Very nice planting set up on your farm.
Nice Brother 👍
Still planting with my Farmall H & IH 230 planter. I plant just fast enough that you can count the clicks of the seed plate registering over the knock out pawl. 😁
I would love to see his corn stand and spacing for your next video.
Pretty important pass!
It will be spot on. Our high speed planter runs between 98 and 100% accuracy.
I was running 99% singulation and 98% spacing
I like that setup
It’s a good one Jamie. It would get those Butler County Green River bottoms done in a flash.
@bigtractorpower it sure would. A few of those use to roam here back in the day.
The 7 and 8 thousand series were the best tractor that caseIH ever made
Nice planting setup, I use a modified 6rn 7000 with an IH 1086.
Very nice set up. I grew up watching an 886 4 post ROPS and a John Deere 6 row.
Really darn cool !!!
Good video.
He's justa givener!! NICE!! 👌
Ol school is the cool school ✌️
Hello everyone great starting new vidéo from big tractor and i love this 7220 magnum tractor
Awesome to see that good old magnum running in the field
And on believable what it cost in the ‘90’s when you want to buy it new nowadays you pay probably 5x
Today a Case IH Farmall 75C prices out at the cost of a 2wd 7220 Magnum when it was new. The smallest Magnum today is the 180 is listed for $341,000.
Can’t beat a Box Car Magnum!
They are modern day classics. Built to last.
Yep!
I live in West Central Illinois.
Very nice area. Lots of great farming.
9 m/ph that's impressive...
Getting it done 👍👍👍
It’s a nice set up to get the acres covered quickly.
Super💯video
Thank you James.

Hey jason. My brother in law uses his 7140 magnum with his ih cyclo air 800.
Very nice. The 800 is a cool planter from the last days of IH and early days of Case IH.
Planting Corn❤💯💢🙏
Always an exciting time of year in the field.
Hi from Dexter🏠Missouri
Hi James.
I wonder how the meters works at 9 mph I figured the singulation would go down significantly. I heard he had made seed tube upgrades and precision planting monitor with hydraulic down force which is all good stuff.
My singulation was running 99% and spacing 98%. Spot on
He's definitely rolling that equipment lol
It really knocks out the acres quickly.
Screw that, how would you ever get air conditioning time between throwing bags in?
Just because you can doesn't mean you should. In my opinion there's no way you can get good seed placement running 9 mph with a tub delivered planter! Cool set-up though!
I think that’s awesome to modernize an older planter. They definitely got their moneys worth out of that one.
It is a nice set up getting the job done well.
Do you know what auto steer they were using?
Ag leader ontrac 3 with a 6500 globe
Ici en Bretagne où il y a plus de cailloux que de terre on casserait le semoir au bout de 50 mètres à cette allure et sur une surface non préparée... 😅
you know hes going fast when you can't even see the back wheels turning in the video.
Old school IH 666 and 400 Cyclo IH. Dad bought it new in 82 with a 684. 4-5 mph
Very cool planting team. That is the kind of combination I would like to film. Could you email at bigtractorpowermedia@gmail.com

That Planter, is that to fast for him?
No the Precision Planting upgrades allow the planting at 99% accuracy singulation of the seeds. It is accurate. Many new half million dollar planters today can run at 10 mph.
@@bigtractorpower i know, here in Europe there's many Planter that use air pressure to force seed down.
seeding speed looks to fast for me.
It’s fast but has 99% accuracy from Precision.
@@bigtractorpower such a great planter
Good ole boxcar magnum
