Great video, well narrated, much info, clear, beautiful shots, and very important, NO annoying, brain-sapping, "music". Music only trivializes the work that farmers do to keep the world fed. We want to hear only the sounds you'd hear if you were there in the field. Farmer Drone, I thank you.
Wow, amazing footage of some seriously impressive machinery in action! The Geringhoff 16-row corn head and Claas Lexion 8700 combo is a true powerhouse. Loved the aerial shots showcasing the efficiency and skill of the team-Renfrew County farming at its finest! 🚜🌽🔥
My son-in-law designed and patented the “Split-Flex” corn head now being sold by Geringhoff. His corn head is 24 row 30” centers corn head. He can shell 20 acres per hour with just this combine. When he runs it along with his 16 row “Split-Flex” head it take at least six semi’s to keep him going depending on how far they are from the elevator. It’s amazing to watch.
When I was a kid in the 70's I drove a John Deere 4440 with two 400 bshl grain carts in endless miles from the 10 row combine to the silos. I thought we were soooo efficient. lol Not even close. This is how the big boys do things.
This is a great post and I'm happy you posted to this channel. Great memories... you were state of the art in the 70's driving that great big 4440!! Congratulations 🎊
@@farmerdrone It was the only tractor my little skinny butt could drive. My uncle strapped a feed bag to the seat and to the back so I could push the pedals in. No cab, just this orange/white umbrella and a rusty, corroded AM radio on the fender. And I was paid! I would have done it for free, but I got $1/hour and for a 10 year old kid in the 70's, that was big money! lol Yes, good memories indeed. A lot of hard lessons learned. My uncle was a real stickler on spilled grain. I spent a lot of time cleaning up little piles of corn I was careless with.
First time on this channel. Born on a farm in Ont. Guelph grad, ended up doing regulatory research in Western Canada. It's the fall colors that make me home sick.
Hi Dennis ... well, I was born in the west and dumped off in Ontario as a 19yr old. Have spent over 50 years in Renfrew County west of Ottawa where the fall colours can't get any better! Before I concentrated on farm videos, I filmed outdoor stuff .. water and fall colours. etc. You may want to check out that part of my channel ... thanks .. Les ..
The farm kings of Richmond ont. Amazing sight to see. I saw this crew with the case harvester as well near home base and it was amazing to watch them clear fields in minutes
Great video! First time I've seen your channel. I will be watching it more! The Claus combines seem to be gaining popularity. From what I understand, they are a good combine. I've had the opportunity to see the Case AF11 in the field with a 50' grain head. That thing is a beast!! This grain cart is insane! Seeing all the round bales there, they must run quite a few cattle too.
The Claas is a great machine. Powerful yet very fuel efficient. They are expensive here in Canada .. The round bales were actually on a neighbours field ..
New subscriber here!!! EXCELLENT video quality!! I just encountered your channel a few minutes ago. First time I've seen your work. I've been watching tractor/combine videos for years. Enjoying your content. Keep up the great work!!!
Hi Todd! and welcome to the channel. Really appreciate you taking the time to write in. Thanks for subscribing! and .. "May the Sun always shine on your crops!" ....
Nice video👌! It's really impressive how large the areas are there! By the way, I live not far from the Claas headquarters in Harsewinkel. Greetings from Germany!
I try and shoot every action from at least 4 angles ... in multiple angles the air, alongside the equipment, in the combine and in the forage wagon tractor. I also hang GoPros on the equipment, heads and on the back of equipment.. Keeps you from being bored. downside ... it takes 30-40 hours post production time to make a 12 minute video!!
Nice video! Those LSW tires are real good tires, way better than tracks in my opinion! Those Load King grain trailers are made in Winkler, Manitoba, 7 miles from our place!
Here we have those big hugged equipment they take a lot of room on the roads going to one field to the other field. And travel to other fields with header off on carrier and combine driving behind plus all the grain carts and huge tractor’s.
Thanks for a great video and some awesome equipment. Something I have never saw before is the large round flashing light on top of the combine. What is that all about?
@Eddie_Schantz when the grain bin on the combine is approaching full, it signals the operator of the tractor/grain cart to pull up so the combine can unload...
Hello France .. ! your welcome, but more importantly, thank you for watching. Much appreciated ... Bonjour la France.. ! votre bienvenue, mais plus important encore, merci d’avoir regardé. Très apprécié...
Funny ... in Germany more an more Farmers use the canadian MacDon Flexdraper for Grain harvest, an in Canada they use the german Geringhoff for Corn Harvest 🙂
Our neighbor had an 18-row corn head, but it was set to 20-inch centers! I've never seen a 16-row with 30-inch centers in person, but I bet it's quite a sight!
Did anyone else notice that after dropping off the header, the combine front elevator housing had a trace bar on an angle meaning the chain had jumped?
Key question is what are the yields? My brother in law has been running over 280 bushel per acre , best fields over 320. Only so much you can push through the thresher. If he ran 16 rows he'd have to drive at 2.5 mph or choke the combine. 410 bu. hopper wouldn't make it half way across a quarter section.
Your brother-in-law's yields are impressive and represent the upper tier of productivity in modern agriculture. Achieving 280 to over 320 bushels per acre likely involves optimized soil management, genetics, and favorable growing conditions. However, as you've noted, high yields introduce logistical challenges.
