Electronics 101: Step-Down Converters (CHARGE YOUR PHONE WITH ANY BATTERY)

Hey guys, in this one we talk a little about DC-DC Buck Step Down Converters and how we can use them to regulate voltage. This is a practical example of how to regulate any voltage from 24V down to 5V USB to safely charge our cellphone without damaging anything.

I saw that blue step down module is 3A and i set it on 5v regulated out and put a usb on the end is it safe to charge my phone with it as it is rated for 3A and most phones are 2.4A each or will the phone simply just take as much power as it needs?

You are correct Tiaan. The phone will take as much as it needs just please please make sure your output is set to 5V exactly. Your voltage is very important here. Too much current is not a problem.
