Bhai I agree. He also mentioned a saint whose tomb is in Karachi, as someone who was part of M. Bin Qasim's invasion army...while according to Chachnama and Farishta of Deccan, this saint was killed by M bin Qasim for being a grandson of Ali...so....

The father and son are paid actors. They serve for money not for honesty. Their ancestors were paid to propogandize hate and sow division by the brits. They are just proving their blood loyalty. Do note they call Abdullah Shah Ghazi as a member of M. Bin Qasim's army but he was actually killed by M. Bin Qasim's army because he belonged to a group the Arab Khalafat called 'Shia'....

Finally some much needed knowledge about Karachi, uncle is a fountain of knowledge.
Karachi was inhabited by mass migration of Kulachi Baloch tribes around 1723-1725. The year mentioned was after the battle of Khan of Qalat with Kulachi tribes of Makran, which forced Kulachi's to migrate to Debal(Karachi today). Baloch's lacked education and led others to write whatever history others prefered.
Kulachi, Kalmati, Darzadag, Talpur and Gabol are Baloch tribes whereas Jokio is a Sindhi tribe who first inhabited Karachi. Jokhio's, Kalmati's and notably the Gabol's were main landlords of Karachi. These people acquired fishing and cultivation as their prime livelihood.
Parsi's are the one who thrived business in this town and built it into a metropolis later in late 80s.
Karachi boasted attraction within a little span from its strategic location and beautiful infrastructures which caught eyes of everyone.
The rest is history, period.

In old record available at Sindh archives library beyond governor house Karachl has been spelled as CURRACHI.
I have read naumal,s memoirs, and your dad knowingly did not tell the atrocities that were committed by talpurs against hindus. If you abduct, kill ppl, destroy temples, even forced them in to circumcisions, mounted on donkeys and were told to stand aside if muslims pass the roads almost like a third grade human and you say why he revolted against talpurs.

A very reductionist take on Karachi's history, especially the pre-Talpur period. Also, while the books mentioned are important, they should be a starting point when one's digging deeper into Karachi's (and overall, Sindh) history.

@@umairilyas For that look for Cheraman Jumma Masjid, made in 628 C.E. and some in Gujrat coasts of which I forgot the name but both are before M. Bin Qasim, actually they were built before the first Caliph Rashidun.
