I own a 1993 600SL and was very interested in seeing this video. It could have been so much better with proper camera work where we could actually see the flaws you were drawing attention to.

Thanks for the feedback, we've had similar comments on this video and will try harder with future videos. You may want to look at our General Concours Judging Tips video that does include detailed photos albeit across a wider range of Mercedes cars.

I'll pass that along. Rubin's R107 video is up next. We should have it out soon.

Hello, I enjoy your presentations as I have a SL 500 Millie Miglia for 12 years with the correct evo 2 wheels. But your cameraman needs to follow you and show what you’re talking about So we can see the wheels as you talk about them. Thanks

The camera doesn't show what the speaker talks about. It's a little frustrating.

Think these cars should get split when judging dont think is fair for a 1990 car to compete with a 2002 .. the 2002 by year is not even a classic and way newer 11years is 11 years
Specially when 2002 want that long ago can understand if 1950 and 1960 both cars most likely would be restored no one needs to restore a 2002 imo
    Should be 1990-,97 and 97-2002

You make a valid point. Luckily the MBCA Concours judging guidelines have a provision for this. If you get a chance, watch the full concours judging video. You should see that points are given for age and mileage to balance out this exact concern.

'Engine powered by Mercedes' badge, tinted windshield are signs of a kid owns it or has owned it in the past. Great video for a great chassis

Quite a few cars in the south have heavy tint. My 2005 S600 has very dark tint. In my case however it was a one owner car, a local Cadillac dealer owned it.

I just bought a '95 SL500 and it came with the '16 hole man cover wheels' as the guy called them. Anyone know if those are the original wheels?

Guys... do better with the camerawork, seriously. Interesting content though, but we want to see in detail all the things you're pointing out, not just a few from fifteen feet away.

Thanks for the feedback. We do have detailed zoom presentations where photos are included to show more detail. Take a look at some of the other videos on concourse judging to see if that helps. As for these videos, we'll try harder in the future to include close ups. Thanks for the feedback.

@@MBCAPeachTube Sure! As an R129 owner (and MBCA member) who's undertaking a pretty thorough restoration right now, I'm super interested to see what concours judges look at on these cars. They're beginning to get more interest from the collector community as a whole and it's going to be important to document these details.
