- The ALL NEW Sorento is here and Kia has added a hybrid to the lineup. On the outside you will find full LED lighting, unique grill and wheels. On the inside you will discover an 8in infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, and rotary knob gear selector. Under the hood is a 1.6L turbocharged inline-4 paired with (1) electric motor and mated to a 6-speed automatic. Is the 2021 Kia Sorento EX a BETTER hybrid SUV than a Toyota Highlander?

I went to a Kia dealer In Leesburg Florida and they were charging $7000.00 over MSRP for a 2022 Kia Sorento Hybrid.
I might this and swap the badge with the Kia badge with a Lexus badge cause female ain’t hitting you with a Kia. The ladies love Lexus

Sorento and Highlander should not even be in the same sentence. I know someone with a 12 yr old Highlander Limited and it drives and looks new.

@@gregholman2930 $53K is in Canada.....I know I was looking at them about a year ago..... ended up buying a Rav4 XSE hybrid & really happy with my choice. The Rav4 XSE hybrid was $43k Canadian with the technology package.

Very nice interior, 38k they could make both seats powered. No ventilated seats I can forgive. Overall a good value.
It has a few zonks but I can deal with them having in mind those MPG´S.

While my Highlander ended up having many other options, albeit I went with the platinum hybrid, the lack of an AWD option with the Sorento Hybrid was the deal breaker.

Seeing plastic around the fender makes more sense to me after moving up north. That's the first place to rust out visibly on cars up here and the plastic cladding looks better longer in those regions.

Joe, you might find the 2nd row captain chair armrest easier to use and more functional if you use the armrest for the seat you're in rather than the one for the other seat. (12:55).

@@RaitisRides Agreed my man, the one thing I don’t understand is Kia and Hyundai are practically sister companies where their cars are almost all on the same chassis. But I wonder why Kia doesn’t offer as much tech and features as much as Hyundai does, even in the Telluride they don’t even have a digital cockpit display or any of that and I’m not sure why they didn’t include it in their cars. The Palisade has digital but why not Kia? Not complaining anymore I’m just happy with our ride 🤷🏻

J/L unga bunga me dig them wheels big time. I think KIA is a head of the curve with fresh styling designs & innovations. the underdog of the auto industry showing the rest . . . here I come. Honda is falling asleep, Nissan is trying to reinvent itself - will it work or flop, Toyota sometimes seems to be stuck in the 80's Mazda is solid but they just don't do the numbers when it comes to the board. the reddish color is pretty decent, not usually a fan of red, unless we're talking tomato sauce for my pasta - am I right my Italian brother? okay I'll shut up so I can continue watching this review . . . I like top trim (get it)? the face is nice, compact, but I wanna 22 so I can get the new logo. wheel designer wins a box of Twinkies for excellence. B - double rear lights = that's the way it's supposed to be. rear wiper = done right for a change = kudos KIA. no CVT = thank you KIA. LOVE the interior, very well executed. I wonder if you can delete the third row, & extend the range of the second row like a limo with arm rest that are 38 inches wide for a real human arm lol. GREAT REPORT - tony

I hate the fact the Kia downgraded the Sorento with NO thigh support for the driver / 2 memory seats setting and NO REAR A/C in the 3rd row!!!! These are all things that I LOVE about my 2018 Kia Sorento! I would not buy this vehicle!!! SHAME ON KIA! Other markets have these features! Why did they got rid of them for the US market!!!

I like the way the Sorento looks like. Kia gives you the Sorento EX Hybrid for $40,000 to $43,000 with half the stuff. You look at the Hyundai Santa Fe Limited Hybrid for $40,000 to $43,000 with everything in it like the Caligraphy(except) the quilted nappa seats, eco- suede headliner, led interior lighting, and dark front grill. Kia does not give you a Sorento SX with everything in it. Like Hyundai does with its Limited.
If you're gonna build a hybrid, make it AWD. The tail lights I'm not too picky about. The feature, that I believe should be in all cars that have heated seats, go ahead and install the ventilated seats. It gets hot, especially living on the Gulf Coast AKA satan's armpit. Gonna have a hard time putting a license plate on the front
Australia will get the hybrid, but in the meantime we get the Excellent Smartstream Diesel rated at 148Kw & 440Nm or the FWD Petrol rated at 200Kw & 332Nm . The diesel will easily better its rate 6.1l/100 km economy . The petrol gets around the low 10l/100km mark. All come with an 8spd Auto tranny here. Great vehicles, but the diesel here is the bigger seller.

Dang, I love this new Sorento however deal killer is the mid-row only seat for 2. Family of 5 is like the new family of 4. Yeah there's a 3rd row but it's a trade off if we go to Costco or Sam's. Besides I like all my kids close by for communication and not like putting one of the kids in the corner like a classroom punishment.
