I'd never even driven a kia in my life but after finding your channel, I bought a k5 and my husband just got a telluride - and we LOVE them! thanks for your hilarious and informative reviews!
"You can rub your wood after a hard day at work." Honestly, Lori should get props just for not dropping the camera from spontaneous laughing 😂 🤣. Love the Telluride. I'm good with the trim along the wheel rims. It looks more rugged to me. Great work guys!!
I have an all black 22 EX Nightfall Edition (which my kids call Night Fury and named it Toothless 😂) since August of last year and I am absolutely in love with it. It's so comfortable, has room for everything my family of 5 needs. It's perfect for longer trips and even gets excellent gas mileage just around town. My favorite feature is how quiet it is. Almost zero road and wind noise. I get compliments on this car ALL the time.
I received my new ‘22 sx prestige 2 weeks ago and wow. I had high expectations for it since all the reviews were so raving, so i was a little worried i’d be dissapointed it wouldn’t live up to the hype. Great vehicle. No regrets on my choice. The ppl at Kia nailed it. In love it and it exceeded my already high expectations.
Just small suggestion, maybe put like positives and negatives (including zonks) to sum up the car so maybe for some folks will be easier to make decision or sum up the car overall
This car is perhaps the most successful sales story of the last 10 years. Kia understood value, content, style, and function when they designed this, all in time for the insane SUV boom. It has room for days, luxury features, all backed into a vehicle with longest warranty in its class. The only problem: These are impossible to find and when you do, they are $60K+. At that rate, I'm going JGC Summit Reserve all day!
The problem is their lack of quality. 3 Million recalled cars from Hyundai/Kia for engine fires etc. They've been sued by the US government. Watch Scotty Kilmer's video, you'll see.
Love the Telluride. I think the trim around the wheel openings might protect the paint if taken off road, even though most will never see off road. If the rear wiper was under the spoiler it would need to be longer to reach the bottom of the window where you need to see. I wish it was just deleted. Great review Joe and well done Lori!! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
I wasn't a Highlander fan when I bought my last one, got the Honda Pilot instead. Unfortunately with the redesign, they turned the Pilot into a 4-door minivan so it was ruled out immediately. I had never even heard of the Telluride until I began looking at competitors to the Pilot and Highlander. Was lucky enough to bump into someone who had just taken possession when they pulled up at a neighbors house. I was blown away at the look and features....then the woman let us take it for a spin. I put down my deposit a week later...and my fully loaded SX should arrive in the next few weeks. The only add on I couldn't get was the running boards as they are apparently sold out.
Really glad I can live vicariously through you on some of these vehicles. I’m curious about most new cars and how they stack up, but not so much that I would spend all day at dealerships to compare.
Loving our 2021 Telluride SX Prestige. After 15 months and over 21K miles this so far has been the best new car purchase we have made. And that is comparing it to two Hondas, a Cadillac, Mazda, and Chevy. We buy cars and keep them typically for 8 years. Our experience with the telluride has been so good I just went out last month and purchased a 2022 Stinger GT2. Never thought I would own a KIA much less two of them.
Couldn't agree with you more. I've always been a person to lease a vehicle but this time around I bought my Telluride. I have a 2022 EX premium Nightfall Edition and I absolutely love it. This is my second EX Telluride.
@@MrVizziato23 Just got the exact same Telluride for the wife in December, color and all. She loves everything about it more than her '15 Dodge Durango except for the power and gas mileage, which I agree the Durango V6 seemed a bit quicker and maybe got 1 or 2 MPG's more, but otherwise awesome car.
I just bought a 2022 forte GT and I’m absolutely in love with it! All the features I get from it is insane. Kia is killing it lately. Girlfriend even wants to buy the Sportage or the Sorento. They’re amazing vehicles!
I think I like the Wolf Grey color over this. It also allows the brown interior, which really presents an upscale ride. I too wish they'd painted the wheel openings, lower body, and bumpers on the top trim. The flat black does cheapen it somewhat. But this is also part of how Kia keeps prices down.
Thank you so much for showing an actual drive test. Most reviews either don't test drive at all, or they are filmed with the camera pointed inside the cabin which is facing the driver instead of your front facing view. It is my goal to purchase a 2022 Kia Telluride SX Prestige Nightfall in Wolf Gray with Dune Brown sometime in 2023.
I've been thinking about getting a Telluride, but I keep reading that the windshields are very thin and break often. Also, there have been quite a few reports of electrical issues with the driver information screen in the middle of the gauge cluster. Maybe by the time I'm ready to buy Kia will have those issues sorted out.
I have a 2020 SX PRESTIGE and love the vehicle but there is something everyone should know before buying any modle of one ... I hope you take the time to read this about a huge SAFETY ISSUE that KIA has ignored all owners who have emailed them . Maybe they are just driving in wet conditions on a road without a sewer system and instead has culverts and ditches then someone driving in the other direction swerves from texting and to avoid an accident the Telluride driver veers and gets stuck in some mud. They can't get ahold of a tow truck and a friendly passerby in a pickup stops with a tow rope or winch to help. That friendly person can't find a tow hook and there are no recovery points with eyelets to attach to so they connect to the front suspension or some other metal structure that is not connected with the frame and unknowingly causes damage. The Telluride owner goes driving along their way only to have a catastrophic accident because the vehicle becomes unstable and unbalanced at a higher speed. I'm not going to blame that consumer for not crawling under the Telluride before they took delivery to look for a common metal loop found on most other vehicles and suggest they should have bought a truck 4X4. I have to agree with the raised lettering idea on the front hood. This would look much better if it were embossed. Also, I'd take the Telluride ANY DAY over the Range Rover for two reasons: 1) Reliability and, 2) much more bang for the unwaisted buck. Kia's evolution over the past 23 years or so, since their initial collaboration with Hyundai, has been phenomenal. This very nice Telluride is just further proof of that. Thanks, Joe.

I love our telluride. Ditched our Tesla Camr.. I mean our Model Y for one. It’s THE most practical family car until you have no other choice for a minivan. Small 3rd row and price and no availability kept me from Toyota. Plus, talk about a boring design if you ask me. If you’re waiting for Telluride and considering Palisade, don’t. We have a 2018 Limited Highlander and our lease ends in December. We are looking at replacing it with a Telluride. I noticed on your video that there is no place to put my purse in between the front and passenger seat like my highlander. I love that feature in my highlander. That might make me want to purchase another highlander. It's the little things.
Spoiler, it is. I had to talk my mom out of getting a Highlander they wanted almost 50k for but it really didn't have any good features other than AWD, the interior was outdated unlike the Telluride.
The 2022 Highlander is updated. Would rather have a Telluride but you can't get one for 6 to 12 months. The word is added dealer profit is taking prices up $5000 to $7000 more than MSRP.
@@joniboulware1436 obviously, she's looking at a 22' Grand Cherokee now but the interior is fairly outdated compared to the Telluride, the screen on the Highlander at the XSE trim is much smaller than the equivalent trim of the Telluride and doesn't have nearly as much room as the Telluride either, the roof is too low.
@@drpork1360 just love reading comments especially on choices that people make lol. All I can say is for lease then Kia or JEEP but for financing TOYOTA all the way.
Ended up with the highlander because the Kia dealership wanted to add $8000 to MSRP on top of their dealership packages. I almost fainted when we got to the desk to look at numbers.
Just bought my wife a 2022 Palisade Calligraphy AWD a week ago. Actually found one for MSRP without a dealer market adjustment. She is in love with it. The Telluride has a nicer exterior but the Palisade Calligraphy’s interior is a notch above what the Kia offers.
@@hellkitty1014 It is indeed. We also test drove a $77K Lincoln Aviator, and the Palisade’s interior was far better built. The Lincoln had a speaker grille hanging out of the ceiling and the leather on the driver’s seat was fraying. This was a brand new car with zero miles on the dealer lot. Same thing with another Aviator we test drove last year, two broken items on the dealer lot.
@@mattspeer01 I've had so many people get upset with me over the Aviator. I can always see the Explorer roots beyond the glitz and glamor in the interior. It is comfortable, but the Palisade has actual build quality(no shakes, rattles, chintzy plastics, etc).
I bought a 22 Telluride back in November. I loved how comfortable and roomy it is and the tech is above most rivals. But the seat didn’t work with my back and I had major issues with pain and spasms. Fortunately the used car market is red hot and I was able to sell it for a $5000 profit.
The best SUV on the market for the money. Kia did a good job limiting the production of these. They did this on purpose to increase the value of the Kia brand, and create a real desire for the car. Kia is quickly moving up in quality and desirability. You have to respect the hustle and progress Kia is making!
@@PS-zw4yc Kia is looking at the future rather than trying to get immediate cash. Have you seen the resale value on these? Some are getting msrp values. That's unheard for Kia or most brands. I'm no marketing expert, but their tactic seems to be working.
Almost bought the 2023. Then I did a forum search and found a fb page with sooooo many complaints about issues on their ‘23. And not just a few issues: windshield braking, electrical issues, paint issues, sun roof blowing out, 1000s being recalled for potential to just light on fire. And lots of people complaining about this. Now I know it’s one side but still. It’s enough to make me question it.
Great review Joe. We have been looking at Sorrento’s as well. It seems like it makes a lot of sense to have the additional space for the small difference in cost and fuel economy. Would love to see you compare the two. In terms of styling it reminds me a lot of the Porsche Cayenne
Buy toyota or Honda, my brother works at kia. All they do is warranty work, from paint peeling to motor replacement that's most of the work they get. Buddy works at toyota and most of the work they get is oil changes, tire rotation, full services
Looks great but a huge fail with the exhaust outlet/tips. As Raiti stated, it should be on BOTH sides. Would look so much better, more balanced and more premium. It baffles me why the designers chose to only have it on the one side.
I love this Telluride do like the Highlander this thing is kicking. It would be better off road than Highlander this is a comparison with the Pathfinder as well. Telluride has better warranty, value and looks sportier, Kia has come a very long way.
The Highlander has torque vectoring AWD and feels less like driving a couch compared to the Telluride. Telluride looks the part but the Highlander is more capable.
You know joe, your 2020 telluride video sold me on this thing, and I got one in 2020.. same color as this video lower model trim.. I’m happy for it most part, some defect issues like seat area by headrest posts got wide ole hole from shrinking and stretching with weather so fake leather deformed… rear bumper sagging from stretching with temps so gap in body line.. minor stuff but engine and transmission perform great together, never can feel 8 speed shift, its so smooth it’s like a cvt.. nice sport driving feeling for big suv…. Also I got 2wd and get 26-30mpg on the 18 inch rims and tires… I call it “ the family truckster” ready to go to Wally World… thanks man!!!!
@@Reaperguy67 I currently have a 2022 Kia Telluride EX premium Edition with nightfall package in Wolf Gray and every time I look at it I'm in awe. So sexy and with the Black rims (chef's kiss)
The only thing I absolutely hate whenever I look at these videos is it never actually covers the things that the title states. I've watched a lot of these and he never talks about whether a car is better than another car.
100% agree on the wheel arches. High trim luxury versions of all vehicles should have painted trim. The Sorento does it. Why not the top tier Telluride?
I love the Telluride; hope to own one soon.... KIA styling is just awesome. One thing, though... The front passenger-side turn signal looks like it's malfunctioning.
It's interesting that since you did the LX600 review a day before, to many non-car people, parking this and the LX600 next to each other, they probably wouldn't know the LX cost over twice as this just by looking at them from the outside. Probably couldn't tell from the inside as well. The are around the same size looking from the outside.
Highlander is equal to reliability, functionality & design. Which has been Confirmed and Tested. Come to Nigeria where most of the roads are terrible, there you will see the highlander prof it’s worth. It’s a beauty with brain.
I’m torn. KIA has come a long way. Mechanically, I have reservations. Some engines will run forever. Now, they modernized the engines. The current platform based off the 3.3, is problematic. Every mechanic I know, wouldn’t buy one. I’m waiting for the next Pilot.
Kia will have no problem selling this hot cake of a suv this year. I’m sure the markups will be no problem to them. People will still buy them even at an exceptionally higher price
@@hellkitty1014 at that rate I would just buy a luxury midsize suv instead then without any markups. No need to pay extra unless people want to pay extra but for this suv I dont think people would care. Kia sells these like it's nothing
@@hellkitty1014 How is the cargo room though on the GV80 or MDX? I thought it was smaller if Cargo is part of what you are looking for which I imagined is what keeps people coming.
Kia hit the jackpot with the Telluride. This is a tremendous value at $49k and would even be a good value at a $55K. It’s no wonder dealerships can’t keep these on the lot.
The wife didn't like them either at first but they grew on her. She was just used to our Dodge Durango which I should have kept as a spare car instead of trading in.
I've already seen leaked images of the 2023 Kia Telluride but not completely sure what's going to be different of that from the 2022. I know front lights and tail lights will be a little different and so will the grill. And I'm sure some things on the inside but I guess time will tell
TELLURIDE will sell you a ride! My all time favorite SUVs. I just knew it will do so well. That Range Rover styling is unmatched. I will get a lot of flack from Toyota and Subaru fans...But I don't give a kitty...The Toyota Highlander and Subaru Ascent is are typical "Karen mobile". Which is why they look alike... I can hear it calling for a Manager now to complain because this Telluride and Hyundai Palisade is kicking ass and getting owned!!..Toyota is relying too much on their reliability...That is why their technology is always lagging...Now they trying to play catch up because they see how Koreans are styling their cars to look expensive than its already is..And secretly nervous that the Koreans will dethrone them (quiet as kept, I can see that happening very soon). Overall, Telluride is a much better pick...I won't lose any street cred riding in this lux-rugged thing. Compares to the overly privileged suburbia of Highlanders and Ascent, who may complain to HOA because of the black rims on the Telluride parked in someone's driveway... I'm always excited to see what the Koreans will do next. I know the 2023 Telluride and Palisade will be phenomenal!
Remove that black wheel trim, just don't get why it's part of the design. Top seller because of its bold exterior and interior design, KIA Corp has been very aggressive and it has paid off big time! Awesome review as always 👍🏽
It’s truly amazing how far Kia has come. The new sportage looks awesome as well.
You are so very right about that Tom!
I disagree with you on the Sportage looks, at least the 2023 model. Every other KIA model looks better than that.
Facts they started with two cars the little 4 door and Kia sportage
@@mikefields7615 I wish they have the same interior dashboard for the Telluride that they have for the new Kia Sportage.

That might make me want to purchase another highlander. It's the little things.
My very first Korean SUV!! Nice video Joe.
Spoiler, it is. I had to talk my mom out of getting a Highlander they wanted almost 50k for but it really didn't have any good features other than AWD, the interior was outdated unlike the Telluride.
Thanks for sharing that great input!
Yup, once again ur rite on about the fender flares, it should b color matched especially on the upper trims. It looks cheap in black
That Calligraphy interior is next level for a mainstream offering.
@ROMIL it’s indeed a great vehicle ! But you can’t compare the interior with Lincoln’s.
@@mattspeer01 I've had so many people get upset with me over the Aviator. I can always see the Explorer roots beyond the glitz and glamor in the interior. It is comfortable, but the Palisade has actual build quality(no shakes, rattles, chintzy plastics, etc).
@@hellkitty1014 Hyundai is like a premium brand and it could compete against Acura or Infiniti.
I bought a 22 Telluride back in November. I loved how comfortable and roomy it is and the tech is above most rivals. But the seat didn’t work with my back and I had major issues with pain and spasms. Fortunately the used car market is red hot and I was able to sell it for a $5000 profit.
yeah the seat are dogshit in the telluride. The highlander is leaps and bounds in therm of comfort( I test drove both of them).
So what did you get in the end
@@pope9349 you like the highlander when it comes to comfort.... people tend to overlook that and people will regret their buying decision at times
@@alvinsimba734 I got $5000 more than my Out The Door price. Vroom paid me $57,000
@@elcabopr nice so what are you driving now?
The best SUV on the market for the money. Kia did a good job limiting the production of these. They did this on purpose to increase the value of the Kia brand, and create a real desire for the car. Kia is quickly moving up in quality and desirability. You have to respect the hustle and progress Kia is making!
Ya. Sure. Having a demand over a sale is sure a great tactic. Why would they not want the cash
I have the Telluride SX absolutely love it! I have the Everlasting Silver but with the butterscotch interior
You are very lucky!
But I'm still gonna like the Telluride it's a perfect car I just love how kia was updating their Telluride before a refresh for 2023
Very good way to look at it!
Wish it had toyota long term reliability
Oh my gosh - you're funny! It makes watching these car videos so much more enjoyable!
Great review Joe 👍 Going TELLURIDE!!!! Have the SX Prestige Nightfall Wolf Gray with the Dune Brown seats on order!
Exactly what I want. I got a little over a year before I can make it happen though.
Another Excellent review Joe & Lori. Great job. Thank you for your hard work.
Joe 😆😆😆 I'm really wondering if you're going to get demonitized for some of your commentary on this video. Great as always. 👍🏽
Well paid....
The Highlander has torque vectoring AWD and feels less like driving a couch compared to the Telluride. Telluride looks the part but the Highlander is more capable.
I appreciate you putting the snack items in the trunk for the purpose of scale..nice job.
That is so awesome! Thanks for sharing that!
My mom has a telluride, i really recommend it for anyone looking for a midsize suv. Btw joe i appreciate you and lori for the great reviews
The new grand cherokee L look nice as well. Tough choice for 3rd seaters now.
You are so very right!

I honestly believe Lori's camera work makes a big difference in your car review video's. She shoots them like its a freaking movie!
Could you imagine meeting this guy at the dealer shop! There is no way you will go without buying
That gray with the black rims looks great by the way. That's my choice to go with as well.

The only thing I absolutely hate whenever I look at these videos is it never actually covers the things that the title states. I've watched a lot of these and he never talks about whether a car is better than another car.
Another great explanation and comparison! Kudos to your amazing videographer♥️ 🎥👍🏼
Yooo, this guy be wild'n on the puns! Reviews are on point & hilarious!
I have the 2021 sorento EX+ and its fire.... Design, performance and tech... All great experience.. My next will definitely be the telluride!!!
100% agree on the wheel arches. High trim luxury versions of all vehicles should have painted trim. The Sorento does it. Why not the top tier Telluride?
That's where rust seems to start first.
Look at Dodge Trucks & SUV's in particular, notorious for it.
I love the Telluride; hope to own one soon.... KIA styling is just awesome.
One thing, though... The front passenger-side turn signal looks like it's malfunctioning.
Fabulous review, really nice vehicle at a premium price. Joe, the humor injected is worth the price of admission, always entertaining and informative.
Great review Joe! Going to replace my pos outback was looking at a truck, think I like this better! Thanks again.
My mom is getting the telluride Ex premium package, tow package, and nightfall edition.she says it’s her dream car.
You can tell that Joe loves this SUV. I love it too. I bought a 2020 SXP. Fantastic SUV. Way to bring the top trim Joe. Great video!
Silver is a timeless color. Sure, some call it boring but when it's done right it can make an ordinary car pop.
Great review, Joe and Lori.
I can't agree with you more David!
It's interesting that since you did the LX600 review a day before, to many non-car people, parking this and the LX600 next to each other, they probably wouldn't know the LX cost over twice as this just by looking at them from the outside. Probably couldn't tell from the inside as well. The are around the same size looking from the outside.
This can definitely carry all of my twinkies. If I had to get an SUV, you definitely sold me on this top of the line KIA.
Highlander is equal to reliability, functionality & design.
Which has been Confirmed and Tested. Come to Nigeria where most of the roads are terrible, there you will see the highlander prof it’s worth. It’s a beauty with brain.
they don't know 😆
11:17 you can rub your wood lmao. You are the best Joe. Love your channel and your reviews...
I’m torn. KIA has come a long way. Mechanically, I have reservations. Some engines will run forever. Now, they modernized the engines. The current platform based off the 3.3, is problematic. Every mechanic I know, wouldn’t buy one. I’m waiting for the next Pilot.
3.3 is a no go, 2.4 GDI is the way to go !
Have they really had issues? I’m about to buy one. Any input appreciated
My mechanic said they are great cars for the first 5 years. After that you don’t want them.
Honestly any car is a gamble after 5 years. Honda's reliability is not as good as it once was.
perfect midsize suv have kia/hyundai doing the interior, ford doing the drivetrain, stellantis doing suspension, and jaguar/LR styling the body.
Thanks for sharing that info!
@@RaitisRides you can't tell anyone or else
Kia will have no problem selling this hot cake of a suv this year. I’m sure the markups will be no problem to them. People will still buy them even at an exceptionally higher price
SX Prestige regularly sells for $60K+ here, which is odd to me given that a GV80 or MDX is attainable in that range.
They are still blowing off dealer’s lots
@@hellkitty1014 at that rate I would just buy a luxury midsize suv instead then without any markups. No need to pay extra unless people want to pay extra but for this suv I dont think people would care. Kia sells these like it's nothing
@@hellkitty1014 How is the cargo room though on the GV80 or MDX? I thought it was smaller if Cargo is part of what you are looking for which I imagined is what keeps people coming.
@@ChristianRunsNY this is more in line with the XC90 in overall cargo room, but the other two aren't too far off.
Bought my Telluride EX premium Nightfall edition and absolutely LOVE it! Worth the cost and the wait.

I love the Telluride a lot, Joe.
I know that feeling!
@@RaitisRides Me too.
Very good informative AND entertaining review
Kia hit the jackpot with the Telluride. This is a tremendous value at $49k and would even be a good value at a $55K. It’s no wonder dealerships can’t keep these on the lot.
Wait until you get engine issues after 150k
U will never get this for 49k….
I have this car and let me tell you
Coming from a guy that has had Lexus jaguar and expedition
This is by far the best ever
Only thing I dislike is the taillight design but I think I could get over that with how good the rest of it is
The wife didn't like them either at first but they grew on her. She was just used to our Dodge Durango which I should have kept as a spare car instead of trading in.
My daughter and her husband tried to find one and could find but 2 and they were marked up 12k over msrp. So they bought a vw atlas
This guy reminds me of Vince from slap chop 😅🤣🤣, am thinking of trading my journey for a telluride. This helped a lot
I Believe that for the 2023 model year the Telluride and Palisade will get a MMC. I expect it to be pretty aggressive.
What is an MMC?

The innuendos are why I come for these videos...
That’s the kind of car I’m looking for left and right turn signal cameras awesome
Rub your wood after a hard days work 🤣🤣 Comment of the day for sure 🤣
Thanks for letting me share some laughs with you Jason!
Great video. What's the power split on the AWD system?
Remove that black wheel trim, just don't get why it's part of the design. Top seller because of its bold exterior and interior design, KIA Corp has been very aggressive and it has paid off big time! Awesome review as always 👍🏽
Very good points Carl! Thank you for letting me share this one with you!
Keep the black wheel trim. This is what it makes it stand out compares to the "Karen" inspired Highlander.
Can’t stand that black plastic crap above the wheel well. Bought a palisade just for that one reason.
I like everything about the car expect the diff lock where it's located anyone can mistake that for heater knob or volume bottom
Only Joe Raiti can crack that grin with the inappropriate wood rubbing comments in a car vid
