Having the same issue also. I was at about 20,000 Took mine in they flushed it out and it was good about a month then it came back today. I think Kia needs to do something!
Just checked mine and sure enough it was in the unlocked position. I’ve just tightened it and I’ll keep an eye on it as well. Thanks for this either way!
At least yours is running. My 22 kia Sorento hybrid s has been in the shop since may 25th. Supposedly the cam sensor went out and then the hybrid battery pack went out while in the shop. Was very hopeful that this model would've provided me with 75k trouble free miles but only made it to 4000 miles and 3 payments. Apparently mines a piece of $hit.
Me too. It seems to act up when the car is hot. Four trips and battery programming consults and the message from Corporate is, they are “ working on it”. I don’t like how you can’t use the electronic odometer when the light is on. We are stuck since returning it would leave us car-less. Inventory is so low.

Here’s a hack someone from this group taught me to get it to go away: start the car with the driver door open. When it says system message or whatever close the door. It will not come on for the entirety of the drive. But it will the next time you start the car. Also, it usually goes away if it’s under 70° outside. So you’ll likely have it gone during winter months depending where you live.
We have the same issue since the beginning of this year. We have taken our car in for this issue before and was told nothing they can do but it's driveable" and they will have to take it apart leaving us without a car. The techs at our local Kai at the time weren't well trained in hybrids as I was told and for us to just wait. Frustrated months go by still with this annoying issue popping up every time the car is on. We had to end up calling again due to our car being apart of a recall. The recall is due to the passenger-side seat belt pretensioneor may explode upond deployment. We never got a letter saying our car was affected but carfax told us and we checked and our car was part of it. 🤦♀️ We called and they tell us they just got new techs who should know more about these type of cars and can possibly fix this issue as well as fix for the recall. Will be dropping off again this week for them to keep it for a few days. They wanted to have us pay out of pocket for a rent a car. Which we said we can't right now since we don't know how long they are really going to be keeping this car. Still have another issue where we will get a mildew /sour milk smell in our car if a/c is on during the warmer month's. Was told they would need to do a service to flush the vent system or something to that effect that we will have to pay out of pocket for. We been using vent duct cleaner cans every couple of months instead which was recommended as an alternative.This problem started around July 2021. When we took it in was told it was normal and most hybrids have this issue as well. We bought this Car in January 2021 and really love everything else about the car but feel like with everything happening to it we should of never bought it. -Also our car when this issue started was under or around 15,000miles. Reading through the comments now we are canceling our appointment since it's just going to be a waste of time and money. Really disappointed in Kia.
Thank you for a great comment, I can see you like the car...I hope the hybrids are as durable. so I read in the comments below another technique that works to keep the warning off as long as the vehicle is on, by just starting the car with the driver door open and closing it after the system check message. passes hope that helps. I think we should all return all the cars and demand refund because it can be a safety issue if the display cluster is obscured from the operator of the vehicle by the vehicle!!!
I did some research and another reason for the inverter coolant issue may b the blue coolant..They have a newer pink coolant that works better..the theory being the blue coolant messes with the sensor (crystallizes)
Same here .I love my car very much.It is just an amazing car.Ride quality,comfort and features.Also I gets close to 40 mpg.But disappointly I got this same error today. I drove continuously around 2 hours and the outside temperature was 102f.Suddenly the message popped up.I did many long trips before too but nothing happened.Mine is 12500 miles now.I contacted service center and the reply was disappointing.As same as the other members mentioned here Kia is working on it.I don’t think it is related to the coolant cap position .I locked it anticlockwise but didn’t help.If any one figured out please let us know.
I love my hybrid but I also have this issue and frustrates the hell out of me!! I can drive 250 miles but if I turn the car off for gas or eat and back on boom the warning! Once the car is on for the first time that day you won’t get the warning only after turning off and back on within a window of probably the engine being warm.
I would say that that the Inverter cooler reservoir cap is a left handed thread because it looks similar to the other cap which is a right handed thread. If they were both right handed tread people would get the two cap confused and place them on the wrong reservoir. Same problem. 17k miles. Hot day long drive- warning came up. Just checked cap. Sure enough it gave a quarter turn to lock fully. 🤞🤞If that's the fix I owe you a beer next time you are in the UK.
Same here. After 20.000 km. It is clearly popping up when the daily temperature is more then 30celsius. Still i will add some ion..water since it's exactly at the minimum level. Also- there is no info anywhere what type of coolant kia uses.

Hi all own a 2022 Sorrento PHEV. At 4768mi transmission failed. Took a month to fix. Drove the car home no issues. Took the car out to get gas and now seeing the Refill inverter coolant error. I am f**king loosing my mind after seeing this video. This car is a $55k.
been having same problem after hitting 20,000 miles same as discussed above :( called dealer they are aware of this with no solution? so i asked what i should do? they said make appointment to be checked?? which i asked well if there is no solution or fix making an appointment is redundant? you have all my information i purchased the vehicle there so make this the formal complaint and note on record! well they would not do this so making a senseless appointment to do nothing is ridiculous! they stuck with this decision! so now I'm stuck wasting a day at the dealership because we all know it's happens after vehicle is hot !!
Follow up from this post. I Had the refill invertifluid come on the way home from work I called the dealership they asked me to come in I went in they scanned the system they could not find any codes they did not know what to do they took my information and told me that they will call me when there is a solution. This was 2 days ago. So as of this post the dealerships do not have a clue why this is coming on??
We need to be making protests. The time they are taking to find to find a solution is unacceptable. In the interim the issue renders the cars impossible to sell. The question is to whom can one protest?
i hear ya… i got a check engine problem w my 2020 BMW 330i xDrive and the dealer (Bayside BMW in NY) said its a faulty radiator block due to external damage… the car has never been hit so the dearler first said someone may have hit the bumper, then they said perhaps a small pebble hit it on the highway… i was like WTF BS is that?!!! i wrote to BMW corporate and they got back to me saying its not a warranty issue… BULLS##T I aint buying a car that has internal problem and dealer/corporate wants to charge me $2K to fix their problem… a few weeks later the engine light disappeared on its own so I am guessing its some sort of a sensor issue… I was disgusted by how BMW dealer and corporate responded and decided I am going to get a 2022 KIA Sorrento Hybrid next… but hmmm… after seeing this video 🤣 I may make my own BMW video showing others the BS
I am having this same issue as well. Any luck with a solution? Also this morning I was at a red light, turns green I press the gas pedal...nothing but a slow roll. Held the pedal to the floor..nothing. It did this while I was driving too. I would fill the car kinda lag and would push the gas pedal more and I wouldn't accelerate. Anyone had issues with this? Trying to see if the two issues go hand in hand. Super aggravated as this is a new car. Have an appt with the dealership tomorrow but not looking hopeful!
I have been waiting to get this car since December when I put my order in for a 2022 Hybrid EX. Would you recommend that I keep my order and get this vehicle or would you have a different opinion now.

@@accelerator5820 there is currently no fix for the issue according to Kia and I have noticed that my solution is only temporary because the warning does come back after a while and it only goes away after overnight parking to cool down again. The other issue I've had is the Apple CarPlay disconnects sometimes and then reconnect halfway because the maps will still be connected but yet you can't see it on the car play screen, neither see it on your phone, you can only see turn by turn directions on the phone screen which is not a good thing!

@@rasrebuilds7224 i opened the cap and i saw they refill inverter coolant over the max line, and i had been take get out a little bit then close the cap, after that i turn on the car, but im still see the refill inverter coolant warning. Maybe i have to wait until engine temperature go down and get cooler. Im really dont know reason why. My kia sorento is hybrid ex 2021 also. Let wait until tomorrow.
indeed for me for the only "hack" solution that allows you to follow the drive without the bell and error is a solution I found on UA-cam. Shutdown the car (check if there is really an issue if the container is full as it should be). Then get into the car and with the door still open start the engine. In my case the alarm disappears then and I can follow the drive. Of course still waiting for the real fix to be found by Kia
Last month I was going to buy this vehicle but walked away when they told me that there wasn't a bench seat option only captain chairs, I'm glad a purchased a 2022 Toyota Highlander XLE, not hybrid but at least I won't have to deal with the headaches of this hybrid kia.

Does this workaround eliminate ONLY the nuisance warning for Refill Inverter Coolant or is it disabling ALL warnings. Kia needs to respond on this, because we could all be disabling all warnings from tires, to oil level, to who knows what.

I just checked the coolant and there is no coolant in the reservoir. WTF!!!! How do they not see this. Who can i call at Kia to complaint!!!

Only bandaid I found was leave your car door open turn on then shut the door immediately after turning on. It works

When mine was doing the same thing and not accelerating, it ended up being that Squirrels were chewing my wires

The warning sign has been back for some time now, I wonder if resetting the ECU might fix the problem.

I’m very disappointed to hear this, I was thinking of buying one, as there is a seven year guarantee!!!
