Repairing an 80's style handheld LCD game (Plane & Tank)

- I've played many hours on this device back in the 80's. Recently I found it, while cleaning up and found that it was not working anymore. In this video I'll try to repair it and see if it still works after more than 25 years.
The idea of this game is that you move your tank to the left and right and cross the bridge at the right. If you've done that, a new tank appears at the left. One you move away from the protective cave, you cannot go back, and have to dodge all the falling bombs, or cross the bridge, if it is open.

The first handheld I ever owned was this game. My father was sitting in the kitchen and called me over with a surprise for me. I never expected this and I was the happiest boy in the world that night. Your never going to read this but I love you and appreciate you pops.
I cried.
This was my first ever owned handheld too, mine was in blue. I haven’t seen it since childhood.
I also had that game as a child. I remember that if you made the right moves, sometimes you managed to stay in the middle of the screen and the planes stopped throwing bombs, weird! Great repair, by the way.
i had the blue case version of this, it was the same casing, just blue, my green one was space aliens, yellow was volcano and a red one called highway, then the made the casing more modern looking and i bought a few more of the same games and maybe another blue one called race way. i love how you could tell your parents that it could be used as a clock and alarm to get you up for school. if you were not up all night playing under the blankets with a flash light.
I had one of these in the 80's also. Hours of fun!
Zo wat had jij een mazzel met dat tweede zilvervisje zeg!.. leuke video weer!
I had a couple of this back in the 80s
thank you very much, i have the hand held dungeons and dragons and it is missing the polaroid screen.
You have to wonder how the silverfish got inside!?
saw one like of this in the 90s, that had a fire button, apart from left and right.
always wanted to have one, but never quite got one. then, dont know when they disappeared.
Hey you could say that game had bugs :)
I
I used to have the blue Radio Shack variant of this game. A lot of fun. Wish someone would make a) new ones or b) a small console about that size that holds a bunch of these old games on it. Either one, I'm fine with that.
i was thinking someone made an emulator for these, there was even a website that had a dedicated interface for choosing from hundreds of them and letting you play it through your browser
@@jasonbrown467 I actually found one online, but it didn't work.
