    Just discovered smoking cream cheese about 3 weeks ago I gave it a try this past weekend myself, and it turned out great. Gonna add it to my list of appetizers.

    I made this for the first time yesterday with the Meat Church Honey Hog and it was delicious and a crowd pleaser! We did one also with a jalapeno lemon pepper, with all the rubs out there the possibilities are endless😁

    This looks amazing! How long did the total cook time take?

    • @GRodGrills
      @GRodGrills  Рік тому +2

      Thank you! It was about an hour and a half. I’ve let them go for 2+ hours before, as long as the temp is around the 2-250° mark, they just get more smokey. Depends on your preference.

    Why not just use a Cold Smoker? I have a smoke cube that I use for blocks of cheese. Cheddar, Pepper Jack, etc. If the smoker gets to 100 degrees inside, the cheese will melt flat. I got to try this cream cheese and see. I use a Traeger Lil Tex. Love it.

      As long as your temp is low enough it won’t melt down, it just gets nice and creamy soft which makes it perfect for spreading. You could cold smoke it too if you wanted, just won’t be as spreadable if you’re using it right away as an appetizer. Hard cheeses like cheddar and Jack, need to be cold smoked because even low heat will separate the oils in the cheese, which isn’t good for when you’re trying to smoke them.

      @@GRodGrills thanks. I am going to try this on my Traeger set at 180 degrees. It will produce a lot of smoke at that temperature. I just felt like it would melt the cheese like it does an 8 ounce block. Maybe not since it is more of a cream cheese.

      @@guzzi95 it definitely won’t melt it. Just make sure you do make a little foil boat for it like I did in this video because it will soften up and you don’t want it falling through the grates. I do them in my Traeger 780 all the time, 180-200° and just let it roll for an hour or 2, never had an issue. Enjoy!
