These smokers don't burn the entire pucks..The pucks drop into the water pan before it is completely burnt . And they are not cheap to waste the way this thing does.

The smoker is designed to kick the puck out before going to ash! If you want to burn them all the way up just throw them on a grill

So, you have to buy the wood packs from Bradley or do others make them as well?

    Hi potential buyers
I purchase a digital Bradley smoker 3 year ago. It has never worked well. Day one the inside temp varies 30 degress below and 30 above the set temp. Bradleys fix is to open the door enough to regulate the heat . That is what the help line girl instructed me to do. REALLY!
Then short time later the pucks would not advance to the burner automatically. I had to manual advance them . Now I start unit up by plugging it in and pucks continually advance !
I am very very disappointed . I can never give this item a positive review.

    I live in Australia
Recently purchased a Bradley and it came with a transformer
The transformer keeps over heating and the unit shuts down until cooled down
It’s annoying because I lose the temperature of the meat
Then once the transformer cools down it runs again till it overheats
Any ideas on how to fix this please

What is the purpose of the top vent? When would you want to open it vs close?

  • @danny7griff

I find I get way to much smoke flavour. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Should I turn the smoke off after like two hours? I opened the vent on top all the way.

And yes I do agree the heating element isn't strong enough. takes forever to recover heat. also on a highest settings it struggles even to hit 250 degrees. that's on a good day

Nice smoker, hard to find wood pucks. Sold out most of my stores near me and most only offers them online. And there very over priced. Cost me 16.oo to smoke a 10 lbs Boston butt. Pulled pork. 20 min per puck sucks. I recommend to go with a pellet burning smoker or a wood chip. Very very much better on the cost of the wood

did you use a whole box on one cook? you only need 2-3 hours of smoke no matter what your smoking. 10-12 pucks max is all i use and it works great.

I was wondering this too. Their website shows that it's 625W so at 25p/KWH should be about 15p/hour. Obviously depends on your electric tariff, which will be sky rocketing once we all convert to Electric cars!

This smoker is great in concept and poor in execution. Good for cold smoking and if u have alot of time for hot but its elemen is weak, takes forever to get to heat, when you open the door after it gets up to load food it drops badly and struggles to get back up. Im going to yank the smoke generator and plumb it into an old stove to get the right heat and temp control.

Andrew Day I went through the same thing. The wiring (fuse) connected to the heating element short circuited. Since I registered my unit, the warranty allowed me to receive a new fuse for free. But you'll have to know what you are doing to install the new fuse. I hope this helps.

    • @Grrg420
      @Grrg420 5 років тому +1

Andrew and michael, the inline fuse (heat resistor) will only go out if your unit goes above 425 degrees, it is a safety feature. Most likely you had a flare up. Usually from not putting water in the drip bowl or just not dumping it often enough. Dump it every 2 to 3 hours
