Good comparison, much better beamshots than some other's videos. I was concerned whether the beam was too tight without any spill, but it looks very useful. I do like the Modlite body better. The pocket clip on the EDC2 looks odd, like it will more easily get bent, break, etc. I've been on the fence on getting the EDC2-DFT, but I'm pretty sure it's my next light.
I have the surefire, and it’s a fantastic light. I absolutely love it! However, your concerns on the clip are real. I tripped and hit a door, slight bent mine. Nothing crazy, but it’s a little looser now than I’d like. I wish o could put on an LPC. Also, if your use case would favor a high only mode then not your light. One thing I like a lot that doesn’t get mentioned much, is that you can always get to high mode with the next click. First is high mode, click within a few seconds you get low. BUT doesn’t matter how fast you cycle, the next will always be high mode. Most steam lights for example will cycle to low only if you switch to quickly or to often.
The Nitecore MT2C Pro is also an 18650 light I think build quality aside is hands down more impressive than that Surefire turbo since I only have that same one you have to compare. Throw is almost as good but with more than twice the output and a much larger hotspot it just seems more balanced vs the Surefire. Also the Nitecore is insanely small overall. The reflector is tiny and shallow yet can still throw like crazy
Surefire donkey stomps fodlight lol Id never put that shite in my pocket, the test have shown the Surefire holds up better then a fodlight even to the finish. You may want to recheck your stuff both are 7075 anodized so how is modlight better materials? 🙄🤣😂
I like em both. Excellent lights. But expensive and there are definitely options way cheaper. But both are well made light and good options.
what cheaper options you reccomend
Olight Javalot or Javalot Mini

Modlite does require you buy the thyrum if you want a clip.. it doesn't come with one out of the box.
Just bought the Surefire last night. I'm excited to get it in.

I’ve found the perfect duty light … surefire m640DFT TURBO head (no multi mode) on a Modlite 18650 body. It’s amazing.
This does sound like a great combo!
Can you do a review of the Modlite Hog plv2?
Lot of people offering up TEMU lights as competition. Wonder how their customer service and warranties are.
You can swap heads between these lights =D
I have the Modlite PLHV2 and a Malkoff E2XTL
How do you like those compared to each other? I wantee the plhv2 before I came across the e2xtl lol
More runtime isn’t necessarily a good thing for the Surefire. It shows that it most likely stops down brightness sooner or more aggressively.
How do think the Surefire compares to the Weltool T8Tac Plus ?😊
Smashes it, even though it’s different battery size. He’ll never compare he’s on danny’s nuts
Everyone forgets the big nasty srt7i.

The Surefire won't survive 2 feet under water
