Also for people with gender dysphoria or are uncomfortable with your body in general, covering the mirror with a towel can help a bit.. it may not be the healthiest for everyone but it helps me

Flossing was extremely uncomfortable for me along with me being paranoid about it getting stuck.. long story short, I didn’t floss. Now, I have my FRONT TEETH rotting out of my head. I’m also deathly afraid of Dentist/being put to sleep/IVs/getting that stuff that makes you tell the truth. The truth stuff will make me out myself about being genderfluid(?), a Therian, a furry, Asexual, Omniromantic, and tons of stuff I can’t let them know till I have all the information and am 18-19. (I’m 15)

would maybe a bubble bath be easier on your mental state? you could bring a comfort rubber duckie, light a candle, or add bath salts to make it more relaxing! i like doing self care nights with baths, candles, salts, etc when im in a depressive episode. ive found that it really helps. bubble baths with rubber duckies may sound childish, but its one of my FAVORITE things and ill be 17 in a few weeks 😭🖤

This is what my therapist told me to do, 5 thinks you can see 4 things you can touch 3 things hear 2 things you can feel 1 thing you can taste She said that the linger you focus and take time on it, the more you calm down. This is for anxiety/stress, which is different than mental health kinda.

As someone with ADHD, I find myself often just forgetting to take a shower. I do enjoy being in the shower, but it’s getting to the point of being in the shower and having to get out that I struggle with the most. I haven’t tried this just yet, but I definitely hope this helps to make it just a bit easier- especially before finals week

This is really helpful, as my nearly 15 year old dog that I grew up with just got euthanized 2 days ago, and my mental health has worsened and I went to a psychiatrist (to get tested for autism and depression etc) and my depression was the highest score on any of the charts, and it has worsened since my dogs death... so, thank you for this :)

my problem is the mirror is right infront of the shower so im kinda forced to look at myself

I shower with the lights off, it’s alright assuming you have another form of lighting so it can be dim instead pitch black.

For the comfort object one: you can also bring waterproof toys or fidgets into the shower if it’s overstimulating for you. Hope this helps!
