Got it last week day one, been having a blast figuring everything out without guides. Wanted to play it fresh you know? Thats part of the fun and Valheim doesn’t disappoint on that front. Fast forward to now and I’m in the frozen mountains mining silver to upgrade my wolf armor as well as trying to find the rune stone to locate the 4th boss. For those on the fence about this game. Think Minecraft meets Skyrim. I’ve not enjoyed a game like this in a few years now. I hope they had a lot more items, content, and everything else they have listed on their time table for 2021.
Yo, no one's talking about this but there's tones of copper underground surrounding the copper veins. Let's like this and get this to the top comment. Spread the knowledge.
FYI you can get a fine bow extremely early if you use other trees to chop them down. The mechanics of tree falling damage apply on the ground as well so you can roll a tree on the ground and smash it into birch. It takes a bit but is so worth it for early access to such an amazing bow. Pro tip: you can speed things along by causing a falling tree to smash onto a fallen birch log and crush it up.
You can also roll birch and other logs around, let them roll down hills and smash into other trees and rocks. My buddy and I both got our bows before bronze by knocking doen birch with other trees and then rolling the logs around.
Another way to get the wood for the fine bow is to take apart existing buildings. The "Campsites" are made with core wood. Also, to get a head start on building a base, use the abandoned buildings. If you find a "village" they usually have one building that is bigger than the others. Plus, ready berries and boars
Tip: those copper deposits go really deep underground. We usually bring enough supplies in our cart to build a work bench and covering, we place it near the copper deposit and use it to repair our pickaxe while we mine and we put our copper in our cart then wheel it back to base when we are done mining.
You'd have needed to find at least a couple of veins to even get to this point to start with assuming you dont upgrade your weapons before crafting the pickaxe......i was still using the antler pickaxes for ages
I made three runs on the first mine and still haven't exhausted it. I did build a camp near there, but I didn't know about the cart, i don't have that recipe yet.
Another tip for the Crypts in: Stagbreaker aoe goes through doors and walls. As long as an enemy is close enough you can aggro them to the door, close, and smash them to bits in complete safety.

4:02......i suggest building the kiln first after you've cleared out one burial site as you can burn food to make coal early doors before you get enough surtling cores to make the charcoal kiln
Just a quick note for beginners. 7:00 Inside dungeons, the areas are obviously gonna be narrow. Weapons with wide swings suffers in decreased damage with each entity it hits. This case, like axes and swords, you're more likely to hit the walls first before you hit your intended target. Resulting in decreased damage. If you wanna play it safe; use a tower shield and a spear. If you don't have it, lure the skeletons into a larger area and make sure your swings hit the intended target first before you hit anything else.

For feeding the smelter fuel efficiency, i would rotate the kiln so the charcoal pops out where the smelter input door is. that way, you just stand there. charcoal is auto pickup and all you need to do is feed input "e".
You can get birch trees earlier if you can get other trees to fall on them - or roll logs into them (many times). Rinse and repeat with the birch log to get the fine wood.
The Stagbreaker also makes it easier to destroy structures. Can get a lot of craft materials in one spot (Breaking down areas with built up stuff) that way.
you can rush the finewood bow by just chopping surrounding trees and let them do the damage to the birch tree, or just rolling the fallen tree to the target. i had my finewood bow really early (inmediately after killing the deer boss)
Mining tip, if you mine under a copper deposit straight away you can place your workbench under the deposit instead of making it in a small shelter. Often copper is close to another vein so leave that one deposit for your workbench and cart.
One god tip is to build a CART early on - when you get bronze bar, craft 1x bronze nails to unlock it. Costs 20 wood and 10 nails. It has 18 slot capacity, so it will take a lot of ore ;) at once. I do it this way: run and mark all copper veins on the map while I do dungeons and collect berries and carrot seeds + tin veins, then build a portal that is in the middle of copper veins, then I take materials for cart, and start with the furthest vein from the base (there I build the cart) and I mine whole deposit per day (or till rested buff exp), move to the next one and this way I make way back to the base, take hoe with you to make the ground even as you pull the cart and plot a route without steep slopes. I usually fill half of the cart 9x30 (the more ore things you have in the cart, the harder it is to pull it), two trips and you have enough ore to make everthing and upgrade to max. Since you need less tin than copper, I don't take the cart to mine tin, and just run around the coast in Black Forest and riviers and mine it. BTW. 2 charcoall burners + ore smelters is more then enough at least for me.
Not sure if this is common or unique to my seed, but when I found the merchant the biome around him was covered with tin deposits inland, not just along the coast. I couldn't believe how much there was scattered all over the place.
I played the game for 6 hours straight and I ain’t even realized until it was 4 in the morning, amazing game I feel so bad for discovering it this late
Thanks ESO for being my favorite informative and fun content creator, Skyrim is the greatest game ive ever played but sadly it broke on me, however i will get a new one eventually
copper ore veins are massive. Be sure to spend time digging the earth out from around it, and within it. It is so deep, that the game won't even let you dig any further. Of the last two deposits I mined, I got 107 and 108 copper from each vein.
We covered much of this in our live stream, but I wanted to create quick edited guides for those that just want to start playing!

Thank you so much, this is all i wanted to know!
Bought it today... instantly hooked! Such a great game.
this video was literally the best one out of the 20 i watched
I like how he just casually has the Bonemass ability throughout the video
great videos man. love your guides, keep up the good work.
Seriously love your videos man.
great no nonsense guide thanks
You were my first ever youtuber ive ever watched i usually watched you play elder scrolls
the charcoal kiln can be used as a heat source during rainstorms you can walk on the back of wooden spikes. I love this game! best game 2021!
No sorry i rather want to enjoy the game
Ha! I learned how the parry actually worked! I never paid that close attention to when it was happening, but now I know. Thanks!
Wish I had time to play, I usually watch ESO videos at work this is a great series.
great video man you're goated
I'm really enjoying your content. Thank you so much
Excellent and to the point video for all noobs (which we all were/are)
Not sure if this is common or unique to my seed, but when I found the merchant the biome around him was covered with tin deposits inland, not just along the coast. I couldn't believe how much there was scattered all over the place.
thanks man really great video !
This is so helpful, thank you.
I played the game for 6 hours straight and I ain’t even realized until it was 4 in the morning, amazing game I feel so bad for discovering it this late
Excellent tutorial well explained for very beginners and time stamped for those on the brink of the technology.
Thanks ESO for being my favorite informative and fun content creator, Skyrim is the greatest game ive ever played but sadly it broke on me, however i will get a new one eventually
Thanks for all the gen, started this game today and have watched your first two walkthroughs.
copper ore veins are massive. Be sure to spend time digging the earth out from around it, and within it. It is so deep, that the game won't even let you dig any further. Of the last two deposits I mined, I got 107 and 108 copper from each vein.
i love you 🥺 it's been an easy start after watching your vids
