As a member of the U.S. hospitality industry, hearing all of this gets me really annoyed. Why are members of my own government working hard to keep cash-paying tourists from visiting here?
Don’t forget the bad treatment ! They treat us like prisioners, we must take off our belts, shoes, jackets, they forbid us to enter into the consulate with cell phones and they are really rude, saying about Brazil. I just took visa for Canada, Japan and Austrália and they were competently gentleman’s with me, but US it was the worse experiencie in my life, and I was intend to spend a lot of money there, but was denied … well I spent that money in Canada instead !
Good luck to anyone applying. Be confident, have a good impression and make sure your english speaking is fluent. And a positive and excited attitude of course. Got mine in one go in June.
I watched a bunch of your videos to help me get a B1/B2 visa after I overstayed my ESTA during the pandemic and your videos helped a lot, it got approved first time! Thank you 🙏🏼
@@L.Coxhead I would say have it clear in your mind how you're going to answer why you're going there and why you overstayed, be over-prepared so there's no question that'll catch you off-guard and no paperwork they'll want to see you don't have. I think if you're prepared for anything then there's less that can go wrong and you'll be more confident. bring any supportive documents such as proof of flight cancellation emails and ties to your home country, a main one's work so a signed letter from your workplace would be good (even though they didn't ask to see a single one of mine lol) I would give answers that are to the point so you don't waste their time but you don't want to be too brief, that's why it's good to know in your head what you're going to say. I went to the embassy in London and there were a lot of people waiting, maybe over a hundred, so I can imagine they don't want to hear your life story as they have a lot of people to get through, make sure you have a good reason for visiting the US, but don't make out that you love it so much you won't come back! Make sure you have enough finances and you can briefly explain that. Also be polite and be positive. Speak when you're spoken to, don't just start rambling when they don't ask you anything, imo they will likely approve your B1/B2 Visa as they didn't seem too interested in why I overstayed, they just wanted to know why I wanted to go there, the lady I spoke with was nice and asked me about my work situation and when I plan to go etc. I was pretty nervous and probably came across that way but luckily the interview only lasted about 2 and a half minutes. Hope that helps! And good luck! 🤞🏼
@@alexsist5571 I am in this exact same situation but believe I said I didn't overstay and now I'm worried that that will be viewed as dishonest. Covid complicated things for me too and yet I always applied for an extension and was always put on pending. Well done on getting yours.
visa approved and collected yesterday.. Some tips: Most importantly be Truthful. Dress smart. Don’t over talk/answer only what you are been asked. Have a good ties with your home country. Lastly don’t use or pay any agent.
i respect the consul but i know he didn't tell all the truth, of course if he tells the truth the american gov't may file a lawsuit against him, the thing is before your the interview in US embassy they already review your application and they already investigated you, it is not true that the consul didn't know about the applicant and only rely on the DS160 that the applicant sent to them, because if that is true then many unwanted visitors may come to US, so i believe that US embassy already investigated all the applicant before their date of interview in embassy, and i believe that the interview is only for the appearance of the applicant, i believe that the consul already knew if the applicant is passed or denied before interview, that's the reason why some of the applicant asks only one question by the consul and others has 3 to 4 questions, because the consul already knew who's passed and denied applicants, that's what i think
Hi , This is a very informative video , I had a small question , I have attend my B1/B2 visa in Ottawa/Canada on Jan 24th 2023 and was told its approved . But now the status says Refused (updated Jan 30th) and also its been almost a month I haven't receive my passport . tried contacting everyone and I get to know I have to wait . Can you please let me know what else I can do ?
Hi Ben, a question for you... Say my sponsor says he will make all the travel arrangements to come to the United States.... ( except flight tickets) does that mean when the visa officer asks about who is gonna take care of the travel arrangements, is it fine to say I will pay for my flight tickets and the rest of the travel and stay will be taken care by my sponsor?? Or just say all travel arrangements will be taken care by my sponsor??
what annoys me is no one talks about past convictions, you could have been fighting when 16 30 years ago and your esta will be denied, then you got go through all this painful nightmare to try get a b1/b2 visa yet americans can travel anywhere in the world no matter what there past is. its a joke
If you are invited to participate in a cultural convention, is it advisable to tell the visa officer that you have paid the required participation fee for the event in your presentation of purpose of travel?
I am scheduled to have my B1B2 interview in 2023. The DS 160 was prepared by me but the visa slotting was done by a 3rd party agent. 1) Should I expect a question specific to do with "slotting"? and (2) Is it fair to mention that the slotting was done by an agent?
On 6th of Nov 2022, I was in US embassy for B1/B2 interview, I will share all details (remember it was in Kuwait) First window......... Q1- Is it your first visa? A= No, Q2- Are you ever reject for a visa? A= No, Q-3 Is your visa is expired? A= Yes, Q-4 Did ever visited US? A= Yes. (while replying to him he was making some entries in the system) Thanks and go to window X in my case it was 5. window 5 was for finger prints, (US was having my finger prints before but they scanned again) on window 5 he said to to window 6. On window 6 I greeted the officer by saying (Goo Mornin Officer "remember I used goo morning not Good Morning to keep the accent" 😉) he smiled and replayed the same. immediately he started Q-1 what is the purpose of your visit? A= I am going to attend a Fair, Q-2 what is your job in the company? A= I am an "ABCD" , Q-3 what is your company name? A= "ABCD", Q-4 what your company do exactly? A= we make "ABCD" and All type of "ABCD", Q-5 For how long you are working in this company? A= 17 years, Q-6 how long you are here in Kuwait? A= XYZ years. "the officer said, I am approving your visa, I will keep your passport and will be delivered through mail" Thanks officer I replayed. I took all required documents with me but, Nor he asked about any paper neither I gave him any. total 2 minutes.
My parents and my sister just got their visa denied…. The most disappointing thing is that the officer did not spoke and understood the romanian language…. She would ask them questions in a broken language and would not understand their response to her questions….. This is a matter that should be possible to be appealed! How can she even get employed to work overseas at the us embassy when she doesn’t speak that specific country’s language? And why is not the us government make it a requirement for applicants to speak English if they don’t have employees that can speak that language??? It’s very disappointing and ignorant!

Thanks.for updates. I have interview for B1,b2 on 26 October in Riyadh. I am a doctor working in Saudi Arabia since last 3 years. But I am an Indian and this will be second renewal of my B1,B2 which was issued first time from India. I have visited USA 4 times in last 12 years. What do I expect and how should I present all this positive information to consulate officer for second renewal visa?

Hello I have a question regarding having a B1/B2 visa. Mine is both B1/B2 and last time I travelled for business and travel so both. This time I'm going only for travel this time. Is that ok since its' partly the same reason but not entirely the same? I assume it would be ok since this visa should cover both pruposes for travel.

Hi, my purpose of visiting the US is to see my boyfriend of 1.5 years, he already visited me twice here in the Philippines and he's coming back again on June this year. He wants me to visit him in the US next year to meet his parents who are lovely people, I met them thru video call. I'm working as the head secretary to the president of a company here in the Philippines for almost 12 years. I'm helping my father take care of my sick mother at home as I'm the only child, no sibling to assist them. I cannot be more honest and truthful enough about my reason to visit the US to see my BF and his family. Will I be approved for a visa in this case? Thank you for your insight. Will appreciate it a lot!
I’m not sure 🤷♂️ visa interviews depend on lots of factors, not a simple Yes/No answer. That’s why I suggest getting help or coaching from experts like at Argo Visa to be sure
I am a dual citizen of the US and Italy. My girlfriend is Thai and when she had her B1/B2 interview the visa officer first asked how long we were together. When she answered "seven years", his follow up question was "why haven't you gotten married?" I though this was an inappropriate question. It is a personal issue and has no bearing on whether she is a risk to try and migrate. What justification does the visa officer have to ask this. Did he not cross the line here?
@@chaiandcoaching I understand. But our decision to marry or not (or when) does not define our relationship. I just felt the question was as inappropriate as asking a woman "why haven't you had children?". It is a personal matter. I just wondered what other visa officers might think of such a question.
@@dongamb3823 Its like you seeing this from all the emotional and inner situation, but for Visa officer its just outer surface to knowing what's the plan in future & why not married yet, just to know the relationship is ok or not.
@@chaiandcoaching I am a student from India, I am studying in Canada right now. the officer mainly focused on my studies, I happened to graduate from a college recently and joined the University. He mainly checked If I am actively studying or not, by verifying my transcripts, enrolment letters and college ID cards and study permit in Canada
Thanks a lot for that video I’m french citizen planning to visit the States but I’m just stunned about some of the questions that are redundant and sometimes confusing eg: why are you asking about the names of parents I’m 67 my folks died 45 years ago there’s no point asking about the bank statement? I won’t take the risk to travel that far if I can’t afford the bottom line is maybe when one reaches a face to face interview things might be different hope so. Faiza from Copenhagen

Is there any difference between B1/B2 and F1 approval success rate? I heard that in some cases getting F1 visa is way too easier than B1/B2. Another question is if you're currently not working is it enough reason reject your B1/B2 application? I'm a new graduate Bulgarian student and i'm gonna apply for the visa from Bulgaria (I also heard that there is more chance to get your visa if you apply from countries like Germany, Spain, Belgium…etc). I would like to know which option is better.
Having one type of visa for USA definitely helps in your chances of getting a different type of visa. Applying for 3rd party countries can undergo more scrutiny and questions, so be ready for that.
@@chaiandcoaching Thank you for your answer. Would it be more logical to apply for F1 if you are recently graduated or it has the same chance of getting B1/B2? Also do you have any idea if being unemployed is enough reason to deny the visa?

Hi guys - Wondering how much more likely it would be to get a B2 tourist visa for my Thai girlfriend (I am an American) if we got married in Thailand? We do not want to live in the U.S. We just want to visit my family, then back to Thailand. I will also be getting an Elite Visa in Thailand. I am having my F1 Visa interview in coming days in Mumbai .
I have one question that I am going for Masters in Mathematics: Information and Security Specialization in American University. Does this course comes under Technology Alert List because in that list Information Security is mentioned . If yes then how can I avoid to get 221(G) . What are the measures I should take to get my Visa approved .
Thanks
I have no idea 🤷♂️ that’s a better question to ask the university to clarify 😃

As a member of the U.S. hospitality industry, hearing all of this gets me really annoyed. Why are members of my own government working hard to keep cash-paying tourists from visiting here?
🤷♂️ good question!

How about those who not fluent in english? What will happened Sir?

Congrats
Great, glad to hear!
I also overstayed my ESTA due to the pandemic and have my B1/B2 visa appointment this week, do you have any tips/advice for the interview?
I left the country before I even got my answer because I missed home and had a job I had to start right away. My interview is in 3 days and I am stressed. I hope it goes well. Well done on getting yours.

I really appreciate Mr. Ben for your kind words and very useful tips for acquiring a US visa. Thank you both of you guys.

i respect the consul but i know he didn't tell all the truth, of course if he tells the truth the american gov't may file a lawsuit against him, the thing is before your the interview in US embassy they already review your application and they already investigated you, it is not true that the consul didn't know about the applicant and only rely on the DS160 that the applicant sent to them, because if that is true then many unwanted visitors may come to US, so i believe that US embassy already investigated all the applicant before their date of interview in embassy, and i believe that the interview is only for the appearance of the applicant, i believe that the consul already knew if the applicant is passed or denied before interview, that's the reason why some of the applicant asks only one question by the consul and others has 3 to 4 questions, because the consul already knew who's passed and denied applicants, that's what i think
How exactly do you know about that?
Thank you very much Robert for the powerful presentation. God bless you.

Q2- Are you ever reject for a visa? A= No,
Q-3 Is your visa is expired? A= Yes,
Q-4 Did ever visited US? A= Yes. (while replying to him he was making some entries in the system) Thanks and go to window X in my case it was 5. window 5 was for finger prints, (US was having my finger prints before but they scanned again) on window 5 he said to to window 6.
On window 6 I greeted the officer by saying (Goo Mornin Officer "remember I used goo morning not Good Morning to keep the accent" 😉) he smiled and replayed the same. immediately he started
Q-1 what is the purpose of your visit? A= I am going to attend a Fair,
Q-2 what is your job in the company? A= I am an "ABCD" ,
Q-3 what is your company name? A= "ABCD",
Q-4 what your company do exactly? A= we make "ABCD" and All type of "ABCD",
Q-5 For how long you are working in this company? A= 17 years,
Q-6 how long you are here in Kuwait? A= XYZ years. "the officer said, I am approving your visa, I will keep your passport and will be delivered through mail" Thanks officer I replayed. I took all required documents with me but, Nor he asked about any paper neither I gave him any. total 2 minutes.
congrats! Thanks for sharing your experience!

I am a dual citizen of the US and Italy. My girlfriend is Thai and when she had her B1/B2 interview the visa officer first asked how long we were together. When she answered "seven years", his follow up question was "why haven't you gotten married?"
I though this was an inappropriate question. It is a personal issue and has no bearing on whether she is a risk to try and migrate.
What justification does the visa officer have to ask this. Did he not cross the line here?
Not sure. With matters of visas, travel & immigration your relationships & family are factors they have to consider.
@@chaiandcoaching I understand. But our decision to marry or not (or when) does not define our relationship. Is there any difference between B1/B2 and F1 approval success rate? I heard that in some cases getting F1 visa is way too easier than B1/B2. If one is asked, what is the duration of your trip and you respond by saying, I plan to stay for 2weeks because I got just 20 days leave as shown or stipulated in my travel itinerary and flight details.
👍

Hi, I have a question . I have B1/B2 (Combined) Class visa type.. can i go for vacation or use it for transit ?
What do you mean by “transit”?
My wife and I are planning to visit my son (a US citizen in California) and his family (wife, two children). I am a UK citizen with a valid ESTA. My wife has a non-biometric Israeli passport. Can she apply for a B1/B2 visa with that? We are aware that she cannot request an ESTA waiver with a non-biometric passport, but she would need to be in Israel for some time to obtain a biometric one, and that is not possible at this time.

I overstayed my US tourist visa 19 years ago (so the 10 year ban is well expired). Last year, I applied for a Tourist visa, it was unfairly denied ( not even if I've been banned for life).
I'm now dating a US citizen. She lives in Italy and so do I. My gf went to the US twice in her life (w her family). I've recently found out that She was born in the US (while her parents were visiting the US); she got US passport, her parents moved to Italy when she was a few weeks old. She's been living in Italy her whole life.
If we get married here in Italy, and we opt for not living together (since I work in a hotel that provides me with lodging), can she get me a Visa? so that I can visit the US with or without her.
Or even better, can she get me a Green Card, although we live in Italy?
