Thank you for these tips. Which I actually followed even before I can across with this vid. However, I was denied twice in Manila and Surabaya. The one in Surabaya told me that I can not have this visa no matter where I applied in the world because I'm single. What should I do? Thanks.

i applied my b1/b2 last 2017 and was granted a 10 year multiple entry on my first try. The interview was very easy. Just be honest, relax, smile and answer the questions straight to the point. dont explain too much because the more u speak the more follow up questions they ask from u. Just like the person next to me during my interview. Q's i got are the following:
    1. Why do u want to visit US
    2. Who are u going to visit in the US
    3. What is your job
    4. Who will be paying for your airline ticket
    5. What is your salary
    6. How long you gonna be staying in the US

I got my visa approved and already delivered. The interviewer was very polite and easygoing, so it was very easy talking to him. We spoke in my native language so if you are afraid that you’re not going to answer in perfect English don’t worry, they’ll help you in the language department (I am Italian, applied in Italy and had my interview in Italian from start to finish).
The questions that he asked were
    - why do I want to go to the us and where
    - why I applied for the visa (b2) instead of esta
    - when I went to Cuba and for what (that’s the reason I applied for the b2)
    - what’s my job
    - have I ever been in the us before
I was so nervous for nothing… it was a very short and easy chat. Good luck guys 🥰

You cannot book a ticket and bring it to your visa interview. That is a NO-NO. The Consul generals doesn;t want you to assume you;ll be granted a tourist visa by booking a flight before you even have a visa. That's a reason for you to get denied. That's a fact.

Base on experience. I prepared all the possible documents the interviewer will ask. Remember the information you put on the application because these will be the same questions he will ask. A redundant questions to see if you are not lying. Be relax, simple question simple answer. No need to elaborate more when answering. Interviewer will ask more questions base on your elaborations.

Thank you so much for those tips on how to answer questions at the embassy.
Unfortunately in Kenya the consular officers don't give you time to present your documents or any proof at the counter or even explain yourself.
The second reason is that one is warned not to buy any air ticket before you are issued with a visa.
I think the embassy should get ways on how one can present documents online before the interview for scrutiny.
    Thank you.

US Embassy think of all visitors as a potential immigrants. Most critical information an interviewer usually look for, strong ties to your home country. Which would be your spouse and children, your job, your assets, including your real estate. If you are leaving all these behind, you are more than likely to return and more than likely you will be granted a visa.

It is not necessary to purchase a ticket beforehand. I applied for a tourist visa back in 2017 on my first try and granted a 10 year multiple entry visa . The immigration officer didn't ask me to present a plane ticket or any bank statement but i just brought a copy with me on the day of my interview just incase the officer would ask for it. Dont forget your passport

Hi... So glad to know about this information... I have a questions... My cousin was had a b1/b2 visa about 20 yrs ago... The visa was expired about 2005/2006...on 2001 he came to usa and he was overstayed there for 3 years... He came back to our country in 2004 . This years he is planning to visit usa and want to apply a new b1/b2 visa. Is there any problem?... I heard there is a 10 yrs ban for overstayed case.. And it was happened more than 10 years. Do you think he will get a chance for the visa? He really had money for his visiting.... And this time he will stay for 1 month only.... When he apply ing the s160 form.. Does he need to tell about his overstayed in 2001-2004 on his application? Cause his friend had same case and been rejected when applied visa last years? Thankyou

I am a dual citizen of the US and Italy. My girlfriend is Thai and when she had her B1/B2 interview the visa officer first asked how long we were together. When she answered "seven years", his follow up question was "why haven't you gotten married?"
I though this was an inappropriate question. It is a personal issue and has no bearing on whether she is a risk to try and migrate.
What justification does the visa officer have to ask this. Did he not cross the line here?

@if you are a US citizen then it is supposed to be a free country and yes it is crossing the line and none of their business.
That does not mean that they won't ask questions like that. And they will probably do whatever they want.
But the fact is as a US citizen you are supposed to be free!!!!
It is none of their business who you marry or if you even believe in marriage or how you conduct your relationships.
As a u.s. citizen you should be able to have a relationship with anyone you want from any country you want in any way you want.
The only exception to that "law" ( the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights) should be if the person is a criminal or a threat to the security of the u.s..
If a person is "not" a threat to the US security, then it is absolutely none of their business.

It doesn’t really matter.. Even before you go to the face to face interview, the US consulate has already decided your fate according to your submitted online application form. Their only job is to announce that decision in person. It is very unlikely you can change their minds if there are red flags indicated on their computet screens.
I was denied 3x in the past even if I showed a complete itinerary, including a conference & a return ticket to my home country, they still denied me. Another time was when I was supposed to attend my sister’s graduation. I was the one who sent her to high school & paid for her education, and yet I can’t even attend her own graduation because I was denied once again. Lol..
My main suspect for the denial though is my pending petition.
Bottomline is, doesn’t really matter how much you prepare & how sincere you are in your answers & intentions because your online application has already been assesed in advanced. And if there are certain red flags on their computers, no matter who the consulate officer is, they would most likely arrive at the very same decision of denying you a visa.

I agree with you... How do they ask questions and never ask for evidence from documents ? Looks bizarre to me.. Even if you have prepared all documents they won't be used... So that means your fate is sealed when you fill in the application... One of the questions was bizarre during the intervient whhere is the library you want to visit ? Hhhhh I have never been there befire if I want to discover the place is that necessarily a lie ? Gud on u u have taken my savings this time but will never do it again

i agreed with you and ive been denied for twice, the question is exactly same with the first interview. i was tried to improve the applicant i mean the first inetary was in LA and the 2nd is in new york. i even show up the sponsor letter from my company even she doesnt asked me, but still the result is denied. i was trying to be honest answer and some evidence.
i was wondering if the DS160 is independent like doesnt reflect to the history, could we make a some lie like we tried to improve some information from before for example there's a question like "have you ever been applied the visa before" and in the future we said "NO" . because i heard some agent here told me if we said YES. they will tracking back our history before.. idk its legit or not, but i still even trying to see comment from the lawyer on youtube however they dont want to give the information unless you directly contact them and pay for it.
      hmmm...
      B1 visa is gambling.

Thank u for the very helpful insights sir. I am planning to visit the US under tourist visa. But i dont have any travel history even in Asia. I am a meat dealer here and i owned 2 butcher shops here in the Philippines. It's always been my dream to visit in the US but pandemic hits and it affected not only on the health issues but on the livestocks situations as well especially in the hog industry where ASF disease cropped over 75% of the total hog industry and boarders were closed. Now, i wanna apply for the tourist visa, i am worried about my travel history since i don't have any. Traveling is expensive and i saved as much as i can for this trip than having travels to countries that are not in my wishlist. Does it affect my application when i dont travel history?
