Luthier's services are really not that expensive here, so these chibsons are heavy sent! I'm buying an Explorer this week, and then a new Les Paul next month. Here in the USA a large percentage of Gibsons are bought by some as decor as wall hangers by people that consider them selves collectors and some don't even play. Which I am sure Gibson likes that. Its their money and they can buy them for whatever use. Most people can't buy everything they want here either. I have a few "genuine " Gibsons and to be honest if it hurts to buy it then it may be harder to see it live up to what ever expectation.
Is there any specific store you buy your chibsons from ali? I’m on the road to buy a new one, but i’m having a hard time to find e reliable seller. Also from brazil here
If any dealer in your country has them that is the best way to buy. Aliexpress is much better than years ago but its still a buy and hope situation. Somewhere in the transportation chain here the taped foam "coffin" boxes many dealers use are targeted for destruction. The small end is placed on the floor and given a stomp breaking the neck. Whoever you buy from a foam box inside a cardboard box is much safer.
Tired of buying expensive name guitars that come with horrible set ups, high an low frets , necks that need to be shimmed etc
Hey Mike man I’m so glad u got this channel u no I told u what happened to my guitars about having to sale them to pay for my daytime medical bills so I no I can not get a real Gibson anymore but maybe one day I can get a chibson just miss playing had a guitar for last 30 years not having one for the last 2 is hard brother this channel helps a lot thumbs up

LMAO! Great opener! Ya I remember your hell with your Epiphone V I got real lucky with them with my Wilshire warranty... I want a new Chibson so bad it kills me to watch Chibson videos!!! 😂 I want the Corvette built frickin so bad it ain't funny! We can't afford it right now 😂 I am working my way to building a SRV Charley strat I'm using the white Sonic Stratocaster as soon as my wife gives me the ok to get all the parts and the guitar his was Olympic white but regular white will do for me... my medical problems and the economy broke us to dirt poor were almost caught up and I'll get to building it up! 😂... It's awesome your going through all these Chibsons for us guys who don't care about what people think about buying one it is a gamble yes but if you do your homework to find a good seller selling a OEM one you will be very happy with your purchase that's is a fact.. just watch out there are sellers out there now lying and saying there selling a real factory OEM made Chibson...All the guys who talk bad about Chibsons can go pound sand! It's all about the excitement and experience of getting one from so far away and getting pictures of your build through the whole process is real fun time's it's not to piss on USA Gibson at all all your haters Go pound sand!! It's our God given right to buy what ever the heck we want do your homework folks and buy your Chibsons no mater what anyone says on here about them I get a kick out of the guy's who cry at night about people who buy Chibsons and not a USA Gibson especially the ones who say we're gonna get busted for buying one 😂 that will never happen we're all allowed by law to buy them left and right when ever we want... The funny thing about Chibsons is this 90% of viewers love them. 5% are closet lovers. And the other 5% say they hate them but can't resist watching the videos. This 5% have major , cognitive dissonance and cannot accept reality. 😆

I don't think one of these LP's would scratch my itch but I gotta say for what I term out-there guitars, like explorers and V's and firebirds etc, which I would never pay the Gibson price for but still kinda want one badly these are the way forward.

You mean a specific type of ABR-1, and not just "abr-1 style" in general, right? it seems so. i'm asking bc I received one and am getting several more in soon and they're supposed to have ABR-1 bridges but it would be nice to know if they're something that might be worth upgrading.

Mike, two more very nice Chibsons, you certainly have a knack for getting good quality guitars for a great price. You're also very good at dealing with scam guitar sellers who try to rip you off, it just sucks that they were avoiding you like the plague until you threatened to contact the Federal Trade Commission. I would still be crying over getting ripped off! Too bad about the Epiphone Korina that you originally ordered didn't work out, I love those Korina V's. I have had over 36 guitars in total. From Gibson to, you name it. I have no problem with the China made guitars. And this is for 2 reasons. One. You can get the design you want. And the next thing. Most do not know. Pretty much the color. I have sent off emails. Asked the sellers if I could get it in any other color. And they, for the most part say sure. No extra cost. And best of all. Since I do not play live any more. Just for me. I do not like to spend a ton.

Natau or NATO wood (sometimes called Phillipine Mahogany) is what they commonly use on these I think. It's cheap and plentiful over there. Agathis is another.

@@FultonStreetBeats I got your back brother along with everybody else here with me which brings me to the remark that this community should be the biggest on UA-cam but the FANBOYS don’t understand that these guitars are basically made out of the exact same wood /It might be made at a different factory using different hardware and electronics / but you’re definitely getting more than what you pay for Most of these Chibsons are usually a Complete world apart from what you get from Who there’re copying
I just received Chibson one of 2 for the week. A 2006ish Les Paul with not so quilted veneer top. Fit and finish is as good as any import under 1K. Electronics are not so great but it is a good guitar and what it needs is expected. Number 2 is set to show up tomorrow a Angus SG.... high hopes for that.

Klaus, in a way, many HBs actually are 'chibsons' since Thomann sources guitars on contract from a variety of SE Asian plants if they can do the job. Even PRS SEs are built on a dedicated line in a Cortec factory. Epis come from two factories in Qingdao, China that Gibson took over for their own exclusive use. Guitars don't care who built them, only customers.

@@markpell8979 Oh, for sure, I get all that. I have no compunctions or hang-ups over where my guitars are made. All of my guitars (2 Epiphones, and a Harley Benton) are made in Asia.
It doesn't matter where your guitar is made, but it sure matters who SELLS them.
I trust the local retailers where I bought my Epiphones, and I trust Thomann.
Do I trust some eBay seller based in China with customer feedback ratings well under 99%? I dunno....they seem to have a lot of happy customers, but there is a risk to buying a Chibson that doesn't exist with buying known brands like Epiphone and Harley Benton who back their products.
I've been thinking about getting one of these gold tops. Could you recommend some sellers on ebay?

I just bought a beautiful one but the seller is now gone, unfortunately. I just search ebay and look for good feedback and seller communication.
I love Chibson guitars that’s all I have even if I had the money for a real Gibson I would rather buy 20 Chibson guitars just cause I was told I would never be able to afford a les paul Gibson.

The flying V could probably be a mahogany body...... but maybe a Philippine mahogany. That's the colour of Philippine mahogany.
If anyone buys a chibson and gets a record contract with a band. Then becomes famous. And makes a music video with one of these Chinese guitars. Chances are these guitars will unfortunately become more expensive. And Gibson will be in serious trouble. It’s terrifying it could happen in the 2023 market.
"Korina" is a word Gibson made up, it's just white limba.

Please elaborate? I have measured the body in all aspects and it seems to be very close. The layout of the controls, and pickguard however are different.
