    My brother was working as a systems control engineer in the UK for 29k, now he’s doing the same job for 55k in Austria. That trend is fairly common across industries. Pay in the UK is a disgrace.

    If you look past the increase in national debt, the falling value of the pound, the NHS failing, the attack on the right to protest, fall in living standards, and many other things, at least we have more tax dodging millionaires. Surely that will save us!

After paying a 15 year mortgage that falls to between £28,000 and £58,000 per year. If they both work at different schools they'll probably have two cars already, draining the budget down to £21,000 and £51,000. The house they live in needs to have utilities as well, begetting a mealy £18,500 and £48,500. Paying for food results in £14,500 and £44,500, add on some misc stuff for council tax etc. and you'll see they would have about £9,000 and £39,000 for 3 people not including other siblings so, no they aren't living above their means they are barely scraping by as there's a multitude of costs I haven't mentioned. This is if they both work full time if one does and the other doesn't expect 2/3rd the salaries so that's £32,000 or £47,000 to live on and the average 3 person UK household spends around £35,000 per year.

  • @MikeVermeire
    @MikeVermeire 2 роки тому +27

    When you look at the difference in inflation over a 20 year period, you'll understand why. Your money goes nowhere. £20 is both a lot, and absolutely fudge all at the same time. £30k 20 years ago is currently worth half the amount. I last looked into this when we hit an 81% increase over the past 20 years (based on 2003), and this has since gone over 100%. The value of our currency has been halved within 20 years. That 30k you may have been earning back in 2003 was worth 54.3k last year, now over 60k. Current wages do not match this. Far from it.
    You compare people's wages, and the actual value of the payslip today. It's no wonder why the UK is in a collapse, people are refusing to work for awful wages, all while the people benefitting from the poverty of others smile and crack on.
    Suicide rates are soaring, people's wellbeing and health are at pivotal lows, and I'm seeing an awful lot of lying and theft here in London at the moment. (I'm hearing worse stories back home in Wales)
    I dread to think of what the future holds for the youth here, as they're being taught this by the people desperate enough to put these motives into action.
    There's a reason why it's happening. People are desperately struggling.

    Further to this also the govt has all public sector workers over the barrel because unfortunately our actual culture is very lone wolf minded, and you can see by the woman complaining about her train being late etc. Due to how economies work there will always ideally be more private than public sector employees, If the govt ignore the strikers long enough and nurses, teachers etc are not doing their jobs and kids have issues or people die. My professional salary is just enough to pay rent, bills and basic food and I work 6 days a week. I have seriously started considering working part-time, claim housing benefit and the other part of the week working for hand to hand cash. There is absolutely no the other way out of poverty in the UK if you do not own a house.

    Lol basically, "we'll pay them a fair wage when we fix the whole country, until then, we're gonna blame you for the problems" That interview with Gillian Keegan was insane... She blames teachers striking for the children's disruption, not the fact that the UK is becoming unlivable for these professions. Like all these external factors for inflation and she's focussing on a miniscule percentage of it, it's just an impossible position to justify

There no where because.. to change the economy very big changes would have to be made and no one would vote for those changes would agree with 5% tax raise !

      MP's salary increase last year which is independently assessed was a tiny 2.7% and the year before they didn't get any increase. Check your facts and don't just believe what your ignorant mates tell you.
