I replayed CE, 2, and 3 dozens and dozens of times because they were fun, had variety and interesting setpieces, and I coiuld always discover something new. Fun is the reward, and if a game needs rewards to be replayable, it doesn't deserve to be replayed.
Infinite campaign is fun, but after the first 3 missions, you already senn everything. The rest of the game is more of the same, in enemy variety and set piece. It feel more like a to do list ubisoft game than a real Halo

Man I just replay the older Halos because they're fun- and I started playing Halo in like 2011/12. Healthy cast of enemies with diverse behavior, engaging setpieces, purposeful weapons / tools, inside situations that incorporate & mix all of the above. Plus a fun soundtrack.
Infinite blows its load by the fourth mission- you'll have seen nearly everything (as for the environments, you *will* have seen everything). Most encounters after just have everything thrown in them anyway. It's just samey. CE even had new enemy types when it reused its geo.
Gotta say, I find it really stupid that people who did MCC Legendary get NOTHING in Halo Infinite and people who were max rank in Halo 5 get hit with false advertising through a disappointing coating.

I liked playing Infinite's campaign on Heroic once, but didn't felt the need to replay it. And since I'm not interested in PvP, I didn't bought a Battle Pass. I just went back to MCC.
Also fuck Fracture armours, give us real Halo armour instead.
I know they're trying to distance themselves from the armour core system, but I'd love some more canon armour cores. Like Gen 1 Mjolnir, in a similar style to Halo 2/3.
Fracture armor cores are awesome but they should definitely prioritize actual good-looking Halo armor in the game before touching fractures.

Halo infinite is the first halo game I’ve completely stopped playing. About a month ago I deleted the game off my computer. It really is a combination of a lack of stuff to do and how poorly it still runs on my setup. I know this sounds negative, and yes I’m disappointed, I sincerely hope 343 can recover and give us something special.
My fingers are firmly crossed. Ske7ch recently said that 343 are planning to "come out of the cocoon" and give us some more news in coming weeks.
Got to admit I’ve not even run around the campaign map looking for the secret rooms, you know like the giant sandwich. If they tied finding those to an unlock, like the CQB helmet, I might of actually bothered.
I was pretty disappointed by the lack of achievements in the campaign for finding Easter Eggs and stuff too. Seems like wasted potential to make this massive open world with really no reason to explore it after a first play through.

It causes issues for co-op campaign, is the reason you can’t replay most of the missions and it doesn’t add anything apart from the buzz word ‘open world’ if Xbox wanted to make halo x gta then great - but no one was asking for that!
Every season should add 1 mythic item with specific challenges for Campaign owners

Not my proudest moment, but I couldn't resist.
I was watching the Splatoon 3 Direct just before this and it made me realize, that game is going to be more fun and engaging to play with my friends; especially since they all stopped playing Infinite, leaving me last spartan standing. It'll be releasing with more cosmetic options, more maps, fully integrated social features and a new theater mode that won't be broken like Infinite's. It boggles my mind that a Nintendo kid's shooter can get all those things right out the gate, yet Infinite can't.
Splatoon 3, huh? Well, well. Might be time to invest in a Switch.
BRO H3 was lit back in the day, like I was the equivalent of a addicted warcraft player in H3. It was so fun and it was SO easy to meet random enjoyable people to play with that eventually became long time buddies!
That ending was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

So my problem is that the barrier is pay now. Frankly it makes sense to me that you shouldn't have to earn armor from earlier games. I already grinded in Halo 3 for it. I don't wanna do it in Halo infinite. There's more armor for me to unlock now.
Halo 3s campaign was so fucking good with how the armour unlocks were. I probably played that masterpiece 50+ times as a kid

I think they missed a huge opportunity to unlock armor pieces and equipment by finding the deceased Spartans littered around the campaign map. Have random IFF tags pinging on the map where the Spartans fell in battle or their armor was stockpiled in bases. That way you could actively hunt for them while also telling more mini stories instead of just finding a boring locker with a hologram.
That is big brain, right there.
I'll never forget the feeling when I unlocked H3 Mark V and the Elite Ascetic helmet. Such a good time.
Ok so first off that haunted helmet edit was absolutely glorious, that is a 10000%spot on lmao I couldn't stop laughing, second ur edits r just getting better n better I can't tell u how hard I laugh at ur videos lmao, lastly all great points indeed, I remember having to collect all these skulls or get the too close to the sun achievement for scout and all this other stuff that was complicated but that's what made it so unique and awesome, halo 3 was like the Pinnacle of gaming tbh, reach was amazing aswell but I can't ignore the amazing of halo 3 , keep up the great work my friend 👌🏻❤️💯, can't wait to see more content

The Chief's campaign armor for your multiplayer spartan was datamined before the game was out. I assumed that like what was said it would be the reward for legendary but the armor is still nowhere to be found.
Hyiabusa, ghost pilot, chef armour, cortina ai , blue flame helmet fx , storm fx from reach, more trophies armours ext like last boss helmet, or Spartan locks helmet as shoulder from brute attachment or mythic skull shoulder peace’s that’s just random things I’d like to see that you actually have to earn and not just oh everyone has I just miss the days we’re you had to sweat just to get the good stuff to look badass could even bring back assassinations back!
The sad part is that the only skill based cosmetic is a visor(bell toll) the most unnoticed piece of armor and especially now that theres a bunch of other black visor options now
I actually haven't touched Infinite once I completed the Battle Pass. I can go back to MCC and play some firefight or replay some of the campaign missions. Infinite has no replayability and there isn't anything to work towards.

2 things I would change in Halo Infinite is change everything about Spartan customization and get armor pieces for beating campaign on different difficulty and special armor pieces for beating optional mini bosses.

Since Halo 2, I’ve always thought that every individual armor piece should have its own color customization.
Each piece you unlock is the first step, then you unlock individual colors for those pieces.
In the end you’ll be able to have a ridiculous amount of personalization. Moreover that would be only color swaps for for pieces so we know they already can do that.
All unlocks should be able to be earned. Some items can be bought to save time or to represent teams or specific events like charity donations. But the really special pieces and colors should be only earned through challenges as explained in this video.
Why the fuck don’t I hear people talking about the armor customizations this way? Anyone with me?

i could see the chief armor core being complete the normal campaign solo achievement or complete the first mission on solo so when you get other achievements it could be used to build up that core, and make faithful versions of the Halo 3 armor sets
and say you do the legendary 4 player co-op i would see it fit that the four players unlock armor kits of Blue Team
Think about it: when games sell battle passes not only are they creatively robbing themselves….
They are allowing/forcing us to PAY them for a progression system…
We are literally paying them to allow us to track and be rewarded for stats (in a lot of cases.) modern day games do not respect the time investment like they used to and it’s a real shame.

I think a mixture of challenge unlocks (coatings for cores/weapons/vehicles, charms for weapons, as well as armor) alongside the battlepass/store unlocks could work. If you wanna pay for something that 343 pushes out in the microtransactions, all the power to you. Same with going for the challenge unlocks. I saw someone say a double headshot with the sniper rifle (something actively announced on the killfeed to boot) could earn you an S7 coating. I'd say go further than that, have it be a repeat for at least 3 versions. A coating for the gun, maybe a shoulder or helmet piece unlock, a charm, maybe, maybe even an armor effect! Can you imagine having say maybe the red eyes meme as an unlock?
Hell, put some faith in the community! Have challenges towards the playerbase! Have them design up coatings, have *them* make charms, make armors! Credit them! Have them already have said designs (if it's a contest, and their designs win), and have everyone else earn them through community challenges that appear for a free battlepass. And maybe, if it's an Microtransaction based design, have the person who designed it either get a portion of the proceeds, or, have 343 donate the proceeds to a charity.
343 has setup this system, and if they want to truly use it.. They need to dig in for the community, to have them help create. We already see it in Forge, in the leaked builds on how much and how creative the community is. Let their minds go free with coatings, to come up with maybe an edgelord coating for a weapon or armor, to add more to the various cores armors, even the visors. There's so much that can be done. That should be done... And right now, idk what's going on with the lower staff or the higher ups in 343 and microsoft, that's costing them so much goodwill with the community.. As well as causing them to drop the ball so many times.
Oddly enough, I'm one of those who don't slather love for just Bungie's version of Halo.. I love Halo in general. I want Halo Infinite to stand tall next to Halo 3, the Poster child (unfairly sometimes) of Halo.. But there's so much it needs to do.. And honestly.. I feel having lobbies and more social aspects.. Is what's truly needed in a way..
I love Halo. Always have, always will, regardless if I'm being a goofy ass looking spartan, or the edgiest mofo with my gear, or even running around as a Dino.. This, is my game, this is franchise, my community.. Family.. And I damn well want more.

I want unique effects or armor pieces for laso and or ranked rewards. If just 1 thing I just want a unique coating set at minimum.
Maybe next video talk about playable elites and their possible customization hell even playable brutes. The designs for both of those aliens are so dope too bad they’re being underutilized.

So, I agree that there should be more unlocks not tied to microtransactions and more incentives to play the campaign. But I also think that vs say Reach's armor, there are downsides to a system like what you're suggesting that not a lot of people think about: There's a risk of particular unlocks being arbitrarily tied to tasks that are nigh impossible to do: Recon is held up as this awesome example of Halo 3 having this ultra rare armor that showed the player did something cool by wearing it... but what if you're somebody who just happens to like how Recon looked? Nothing about it is inherently visually special compared to say EVA or CQB. It was just arbitrarily selected to be more exclusive. If you liked it's look, then too bad for you, wait 3 years and then grind your butt off to do the vidmasters.
In contrast, in a system like Reach's, this was largerly avoided, and you could just put points towards whatever you wanted. There's still some risk of some stuff being artbitrarily tied behind higher purchasing requirements, and in turn the battlepass system has that too, but I think there's generally a good balance of trying to make it so the more visually interesting options are the more expsive/higher tier items. If i'm being intellectually honest, though, there's probably an arguement that it happens as least as much as "mismatches" with the Halo 3 approach.
In any case, my suggestion is that for a Halo 3 esque armor or cosmetic unlock system, the more esoteric challenges should give you cosmetics that are actually somehow visually tied to the challenge itself: If 343i is gonna gate something behind having to headshot two enemies at once with the same sniper shot, then make sure it's some sort of helmet or weapon charm or sniper coat that actually evokes that challenge so people aren't likely gonna just visually like the unlock and be bummed out they have to essentially get lucky to get it. Or avoid luck based challenges entirely, but I'd say even something like Vidmaster or Herioskrill from Halo 5 are simply too much of a grind to reasonably expect people to do to get an armor piece that's not particularly tied into the task. (I'm also not a fan of unlocks requiring multiple players, not everybody has friends and the servers won't be up forever, though I suppose these days the server going down means youre unlocks go away too, but that's a seperate conversation)
If anything I think my biggest takeaway from the video is that the whole CURRENT infinite challenge system, for gaining XP, would be more tolerable if you could do said challenges in campaign rather then multiplayer: in MP, it's toxic and makes playing feel like a chore and gross because you're needing to value your own personal challenge completion against/over winning the game or doing what's best for your team. But if you're playing solo that's not an issue. MCC's challenge system and commendations, while not perfect (I'd really prefer more generic challenges that doesn't force you into a particular playstyle or task at all) weren't as bad for being often campaign based as a result.
I think your complaints about halo 3 are silly and borderline invalid when you compare to reach and it really just comes off as sour grapes. Reach had so many little things that were absurdly expensive and a couple things could not be unlocked at all like the blue and red flames. I got every bit of armor in halo 3 but I never got all the stuff in reach because of the absurd grind. I can agree that some of the requirements would need to be tweaked but I'd rather have one or two ways to unlock something then to just dumb it all down like what you want to do. This is also ignoring the fact that the stuff in 3 was easy with friends barring the vidmasters that were supposed to be hard. You know, that social stuff everyone want back?
honestly, it would to see customizable "weapon formations" which could be like skins but changes the whole model and style of it, for example making an banished weapon more covenant?
I've thought about this a lot. I'd love to see weapon kits based on previous Halo games that port across their sounds as well. So, instead of using the MA40 Assault Rifle, it changes to the MA5B from CE with the same sound effects, the blocky model, etc.

I just want the FFA Slayer playlist back, having to play so many game types I don’t enjoy now I have to select Rumble Pit has stopped me from playing. ☹️
One thing I’ve never liked is not being able to pick any armor colors or get one for free for the very first time playing the game. There’s only one coating that is pretty close and I have to grind the 1st battle pass for it because I didn’t play that much until recently. I understand they need to make money, but I’d rather pay $60-$70 for better customization.
Still would of preferred having the armour colour as this, having a primary and secondary colour scheme with 4 alternative patterns that can be coloured or even as you play with thoes armour pieces you unlock different colour patterns. Meanwhile the coating affects the armour condition so…
-default is some scrapes and a bit worn undersuit,
-Mint, glossy, free from wear and tear, with a clean undersuit. (Like the gold and iron man colour armour)
-Reflective, adds a slight reflective sheen.
-glitter, like the purple nail polish armour where it looks like glitter in it.
-kevlar, makes the undersuit look like kevlar.
-rusty, makes the armour have a rusty tone and cracks
-alien, have the armour share the properties of covenant tech and matching undersuit
-scaled, have the armour undersuit look like its scaled like a snake skin
-Gen2, have a Gen2 undersuit.
Ect…
I feel people would be happy with paying for that because they can still choose the colours they want and make their spartan their own and the texture/material changes are just flavours of their spartans backstory.

I got all the achievements, maxed out both battle passes (without paying for them initially) , beat the campaign 100% on one file and a total of 4-5 times on each difficulty (including LASO).
I really wanted some of the stances, coatings, charms and especially the chance to unlock a cool piece of armour.
Most were lackluster and I kinda felt robbed. I desired a real reward like an Armour set or something akin to that for my efforts.
I hope they could implement new incentives soon.
343 should implement a ltm with all equipment be fully upgrade from the campaign

I’m 13 and I have played every single halo game, I started playing in 2021
I loved going for all of the achievements in mcc, though i haven't gotten all of them yet, I'm getting close, and I got most of halo Infinites achievements within 2 weeks of the campaign release. Minus the few that you couldn't get at release, but I haven't looked for barely any of the easter eggs, except for the skulls, cause its so unrewarding, and I can just look them up if I want to see them.

I'm genuinely only waiting for the right shoulder security piece to complete my reach spartan, what I want way more is cross-core coatings since the only one I actually like (tempest lilac btw) is locked on mk7, which I haven't used once since launch. I feel extremely fortunate to have found a coating I actually like given how bad the system is, but it's a shame I can't use it on any armor I want.

For me I already know I am going back to play the campaign. Mostly because I am doing laso runs. Already completed reach, ce and currently working on 2 and odst.

The biggest shame is that the weapon locker unlocks in the Halo Infinite campaign aren't a bad idea - if they meant something.
Imagine if each one required you to complete a linear level that varies with modifiers and difficulty, or even their own set challenges - some of which could lay the groundwork for additional rewards from achievements and medals
Instead these lockers are randomly thrown across the map like an afterthought.

Simply give players chiefs mk 7 gen 3 armour core for purchasing the campaign and some classic halo 3 armour unlocks as well as some bonuses like a brute chirfertain helmet over your spartan helmet for completing specific campaign challenges. I actually miss hayabusa and security, halo 3s eod, all those helmets. Maybe add some for multiplayer as well but only if you hve the campaign, theres no excuse for them not to do this, we payed more for this campaign than we did for the entire game of halo 3. Just because multiplayer is free to play, doesnt mean they cant gibe us multiplayer cosmetics in the payed section of the game. This will open up customisation so much and when cross core roles around fully, customisation will be huge. This is without adressing the other issues of course but either way, its dissapointeing that this isnt in the game.

Halo 4 rewarded players for both skill and time with entire armor sets, armor pieces, visors, stances, weapon skins, and titles. Halo 4 also allowed you to customize every single piece of armor on the body. Halo infinite should have had an improved commendation system and a armor customization system that combines both of halo 4 and reach.
I'd love to get the mjolnir gen 3 appearances for blue team as seen on the cover of shadows of reach

I completely agree. This is what has bummed me out most about this game. Which feels weird considering the big list of flaws. That’s all I want. An armour set that feels like a statement. (Not one that says I paid money)
