Ric Seaberg (Morning Reign) Interview (12/8/24)

Ric Seaberg is an American singer/songwriter and musician who may be most remembered as front man and lead vocalist for the Salem, Oregon band Morning Reign. From 1966 to 1972 the band released 4 singles but no album at the time. In recent years there have been a couple of compilation releases. The first was 2018’s Can’t Get Enough of It on Perfect Toy Records followed by Taking Cover on Sundazed in 2022. Post Morning Reign Ric would open a couple of bakeries, Richard’s Bakery in Tualatin, Oregon in 1975 and 10 years later Favourites Bakery in Portland. But Ric never forgot his muse, and beginning in the new millennium would become quite prolific in his songwriting and music production, releasing 10 full length CD’s from the period 2000 to 2015. One song in particular, “We Talk About Cars” from 2001, first featured on a CD by NPR’s “CarTalk” has been played on radio all over the world. And my guest’s latest CD is a compilation entitled Vehicular Tuneage.
