We’re asking the incredibly loaded question, that being, is there a correct way to adapt something? Watch my struggle and barely answer the question.

Hades town (the musical) is I think one of the few perfect ways to adapt a myth. If u haven't seen it, like omg it is amazing u should i cried like 6 times during the musical it was so good !!! okok actual comment: Herakles (Hercules) wasn't really morally good in the original, hes got that morally grey stuff goin on so its not rlly flipping the script. Also guys were any of yall percy jackson kids ? i was- guys this video is going on while im writing the comment and it seems really good, im gonna have to rewatch it-

I was really hoping you were going to say that we were going see hades perspective of the story where he was drugged by Zeus and wasn’t able to control himself and took her only to know the horror of what he’s done. Also hades is the only one who doesn’t cheat.

I don't think it's a good idea to say Hades doesn't cheat because we have to remember Minthe exists

@@shreyapatil7076pretty sure theres a version where he was with minthe before meeting persephone, so its up to everyone to have their own interpretation

It won't be wrong to say lore Olympus is a bad adaption

Lore Olympus uses a second version of the tale of Hades and Perphone's love origin from Ancient Greece.

Honestly I like your take, especially when it comes to the Greek pantheon, since even he original myth has several versions, like a version where Persephone goes to the underworld herself because Demeter is being an overbearing mother, and the medusa thing makes sense since she was r-worded by Poseidon and "blessed" to be ugly so no one would want her again

I can agree on the medusa part but I must push back on Persephone willingly going to the underworld because what is your source for this?

@@shreyapatil7076 the mythology guy, can't remember which is the first vid I heard it from, but there is something similar in his "Hades ain't perfect"
Main point though is Persephone getting kidnapped isn't the only version, since there isn't really any true canon with Greek myth

The version where Persephone goes to the underworld of her own accord was made in the 1970s by an American Feminist who made a book of sanitized and modified Greek myths for her young daughters, in her own words they were the original myths before Greece became a patriarchal society and they were changed. In short it is a modern retelling.

Could you stop trying to justify Hades in Persephone and Demeter myth just say what he did was wrong no need to justify it (also he is a cheater)

Something off topic from this video:
Contained on the Webtoon Canvas is a pretty good read.

Medusa being the victim is not a new thing tho, she was clearly the victim in the myths too. The two most popular versions I've read were that either she got zeus'ed by Zeus or rejected Poseidon. Then she either got cursed to protect her from men or tto ounish her for defiling the temple. Then she got murdered.
