We choose this land after searching for a long time. The consideration of fire management was one of our biggest challenges when choosing land and we take the responsibility very seriously. I don't want to delve into your personal financial life but how do you sustain a farm with upcoming massive renovations and live a normal life with todays prices unless you have a steady income. Just trying to live day to day is financially daunting let alone with major renovation expenses.

It is very cold here, but luckily not as cold as Scotland haha! We began lessons as soon as we arrived! For around 7 months, until my accident. We will begin again in the new year providing I'm well enough. We only communicate in Portuguese in the local village and have made many friends. They make sure to educate us about all the local and national traditions. We love being immersed in the culture. In our village it is only Portuguese though many of the people have French as a second language. Many of them worked and or migrated from France some generations ago, so there are a few reasons. Our project Mind Yersel' (find us on Facebook) that has been running for 4 years explains a lot about that. (Although we haven't had the land for 4 years). Our land is surprisingly easier than you might imagine to keep clear. We will go into detail about why too, as clearing land is a huge responsibility here, due to wildfires. (You might know this, hence your question). Unlike in Scotland, so we make some careful choices when considering the responsibility. Thank you for watching. Our project Mind Yersel' (find us on Facebook) that has been running for 4 years explains a lot about that. (Although we haven't had the land for 4 years). Our land is surprisingly easier than you might imagine to keep clear. We will go into detail about why too, as clearing land is a huge responsibility here, due to wildfires. (You might know this, hence your question). Unlike in Scotland, so we make some careful choices when considering the responsibility. Thank you for watching. I'm very interested in your project. Unfortunately, I don't speak Portuguese very well. I picked up "boa tarde" and "mais o menos", but nothing more..... could you put subtitles for those of us who aren't fluent in Portuguese, please?
Hello, welcome and thank you for watching! So far your Portuguese is perfect 😁, from memory they were the only Portuguese words in this particular video. Maybe our Scottish is deceiving haha! English subtitles are enabled on the videos and there is also a transcript you can follow, provided by UA-cam which I myself discovered today! We did notice that we should have also written the Portuguese words when spoken , so thank you for affirming that and we will include it in future videos! You look like people who have bought some land in Portugal that is worth having most of what you see on hear the land is rubbish and that's why its cheap but on yours you have good usable land well done i am sure you will get a lot of pleasure from it
