  • The climb to Passo del Mortirolo from Mazzo is known as one of the most difficult climbs in Europe. Many cyclists revere and fear it. Of all the approaches to Mortirolo, this is the most difficult. That is why we call it ‘The Ugly’. Lance Armstrong refers to this climb as the most difficult he has ever ridden. It is a ride full of history and it has been used several times by Giro d’Italia. The ride starts with a flat road. But soon you turn to the left and up a very narrow mountain road. The gradients change a lot on this road and it has many steep segments. Some even steeper than 20 percent. There is not much else to look at other than trees on this segment. Altogether, this is making this ride much more difficult to complete than other rides. With 3 kilometers left, you are leaving the narrow mountain road and the toughest part of the ride is over. On the last segment towards the top, you get a small glimpse of beautiful scenery. It is not a ride you should complete because of the scenery, but because of the challenge and the history.

    Just add music:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is outstanding. But when it comes to music, opinions are very mixed. This is why we haven’t added music and why we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute UA-cam and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, UA-cam, etc…) and pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride... The original sound of the ride has been left out. This is because the natural sound of the surroundings is drowned by noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider's breathing.

Another stunning one. One of my favourite climbs. Incredibly hard but don't forget to stop for a few photos at the Pantani wall (turn 11) and of course at the summit rock!

Hi, I am a new subscriber. Your videos are so gorgeous. May I know how do you record it? Are you on bicycle or motorcycle? Sorry for the dumb question😁
