  • Mortirolo is the name of legends and a name revered by most cyclists. There are three main climbs to Mortirolo. This ride takes the approach from Grosio and offers much nicer scenery compared to the ‘ugly’ climb from Mazzo. Even though not as difficult as the climb from Mazzo, it is still a challenging (bad) climb. The end of the climb shares the same road as the climb from Mazzo. It is a climb worth doing for any cyclist who is looking for a challenge or is interested in the history of Passo del Mortirolo(aka Passo della Foppa). There is also an easier approach from Monno. Anyone looking for an extreme challenge can try to do all three climbs in a day.

Take your indoor cycling to the next level with our indoor cycling app Open Road:
Dive into an immersive indoor cycling experience with our training app ’Open Road’ for Windows. The app lets you ride the ride for real and provides a better and more realistic indoor cycling experience compared to our ride-along videos on UA-cam. The app is compatible with all ANT+ cycling devices, including smart trainers, power meters, and speed sensors. Athletes with spinning and exercise bikes without ANT+ compatibility can control the speed manually and enjoy riding with all the important cycling data displayed during the training session.

    Just add music:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is outstanding. But with music, opinions are very mixed. So we have added no music. Instead, we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute UA-cam and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, UA-cam, etc…) and pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride... We have left the original sound of the ride out. This is because of the noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider's breathing drowns the natural sound of the surroundings.

Really enjoyed this ride, especially the stonework. BTW: can you recommend other good stonework rides on your channel? Thanks!

Glad you liked the ride. Can you be more specific about what you mean by stonework, and we will try to help you :-)

@@BiketheWorld Oh I mean all the stone structures along the way. Virtually every house/cottage/shed is stone on this ride, and there are quite a few of them. I was just wondering if you knew offhand of other BTW rides with similar stonework. Thanks!

@@RickVonSlonekerBonneval sur Arc is a beautiful village where all the houses are made of stone. You can see it when you do our ride to Col de l'Iseran. ua-cam.com/video/4Aa9rz5g5OI/v-deo.html

@@BiketheWorld Thanks! The Col de l'Iseran ride didn't have that many structures, but wow what an amazing ride! I can't wait to get my Rollr hooked up to Strava. For now I'm having so much fun just projecting your rides on my golf simulator screen. 👏👏👏
