So, we learned to set the speed before we go low into the canyon. It would have been so cool to set the active track on a motorcycle while in the canyon. What a great place to fly a drone . Only after starting to use a drone after buying a mini 2 se and find your videos very useful for a beginner. Keep up the great content.
Did you know that about 5 to 7 days of no activity, the battery will self discharge to 50-70% in storage mode to protect it. Maybe the reason why the battery was not 100% charged in your case. Also, when in sport mode, if you lower under the minimum altitude, it will get back in Normal mode automatically.
That little Atom has a great picture! Where DJI shines is the transmission/ CS and price point and quality. Awesome little drone, if the price was right, it would be a terrific budget drone imo. Thanks for sharing, Marcus! P.s. so that's where the bug guts came from 😂
That camera is pretty decent Marcus. Glad you got a good replacement and got to fly it at the Snake River. Maybe take off a little further from the edge next time please😮😊!

Your second Atom is performing much better than first one. Nice testing out at the canyon, the video quality looked decent for a budget drone. I'm glad the signal issues are solved, at least for this unit, but I'm concerned QC issues since the first had all those issues. Great testing Marcus, and thanks for sharing.
They still have more to sort out on the software. We should have a manual override to be able to take it down low if we are ip high. Another hood idea would be to have the speed option on the phone screen. I was about to mention the return to home feature when you're gluing lower down, like a big hill or in your case a Canyon, whether it goes on the height it started at or from say lower down in the case of the Canyon and you answered that like you read my mind. Cool flight, Marcus! It is surprising that the Atom tries to nanny the pilot by not allowing Sport Mode under 26M. I was also surprised that it stayed in Sport Mode after you descended into the canyon. I expected it to revert to normal mode as you descended. I don't know if it was a glitch in the software, or if Potensic gave the pilot a work a round if he wanted to go fast down low. I always enjoy our flight together! Thanks!

Yay little Atom2 made it to Snake River Canyon ❤ Has a pretty crisp image👍🏻. I wonder why there’s no override for the negative equity sport mode. For a safety feature they could just have put an extra button to confirm yes sports mode is wanted 😂.

And are thinking about buying a potensic drone, think again, then do a research on their after sales service, i have a potensic Atom SE, only six months old, hardly used, 1 of the batteries isnt holding the charge, told by potensic i need to buy a new battery from them they offered a small discount, What do you think of that.
Any zoom on that bird ? And i would be worried about being so close to the edge if there was a medical emergency and fall over the edge that would be catastrophic or if that rock edge would collapse and cave in crazy thinks happen that wouldn't be good either thats a long way down.just a thought...
Is it perhaps not a good idea to take off so close to the edge? If the drone has to return to home because of signal loss it might miss the landing pad and end up at the bottom of the gorge 😢.

Great video. How do you transfer straight to the computer from SD. I can with my Atom but my Dji reads it but won't play it? Super frustrating!
